Pseudo Knight's Luck

Inside the depths of the dungeon they cleared earlier, Fusion souls stood examining a man dressed in heavy steel armour paired with a red cape.

"Big brother, was that necessary?" Jue asked, who remembered how Ryu made him smash the Knight in the face after confusing him.

"Jue, it is a practice for when we really need to confuse the enemy," Ryu said calmly as he examined the Knight.

'I always wanted to do that once in my life….' he thought, a slight grin appearing on his face as he remembered the pale face of horror Knight gave earlier,

'His status isn't anything special. Leaving him here does not sound bad,' thought Ryu,

"Big brother, why was this Knight uncle alone?" Jue asked, tilting his head as he imagined at least a few soldiers at least,

'Is this knight uncle really strong?'

"I am also curious about that, Jue," Ryu replied, and Aiena, who was fidgeting, asked,

"Ryu, can I heal him? If I do it now, he won't lose his teeth."

"Sure, Aiena," Ryu replied as he didn't plan to kill him or anything, at least himself,

Aiena began chanting a healing miracle, and within a while, the Knight's bleeding face and blue eyes turned back to how they were before Jue smashed his face,

"Where…. Where am I?" Garlock questioned as he came to his sense; surprisingly, his face didn't hurt. He sure remembered the metallic punch on his face, then how he wondered,

"Good morning," Ryu said casually, and Garlock, who was confused, replied,

"Good morning… no!! Where am I!? why did you tie me up!?" he felt his arms and legs tied and tried struggling, but Ryu threw a dagger near his head and spoke,

"If you want the next one to miss, I will be the one asking questions. Got it?"

"Yes, sir!!" Garlock replied, his voice and facial expression changing more docile,

'This guy will kill me….' thought Garlock as his [Warrior's sense] reacted violently. It was as if the person in front of him had fought in thousands of wars,

"so why were you alone?" Ryu asked, and Garlock replied,

"I was just passing by and…." Before he could complete it, he felt a drop of blood trickle down his cheek. Ryu, who had just thrown the dagger toward Garlock's cheek, spoke,

"I am not interested in lies, Pseudo Knight," he stated,

"Ryu, should I heal him?" Aiena asked, and Garlock finally noticed that there were other people beside Ryu inside the room.

"No, Aiena…" Ryu replied, still smiling. If it was someone who didn't know Ryu, they would've thought this was a sign of sadism, but Aiena thought,

'Ryu did not want to hurt him further….'

"Oii, what did you decide? Are you going to tell me or not?" Ryu asked as he released a bit of killer intent mixed with his newly acquired skill [Mana might], which put pressure proportional to the amount of mana one has,

Garlock's mouth began to foam, his eyes turned white, and Jue turned to Ryu.

"Big brother!! You overdid it!!"

"It is not my fault… I did not think a human could have this weak will!!" Ryu himself was shocked as the skill effects were limited to scaring and putting pressure. He never expected someone to faint, especially a knight,

"I will heal him!!" Aiena said, as she didn't have time to ask for permission. Rafa gave a pat to Ryu, who was looking troubled over his mistake, and spoke,

"Ryu, it is fine. Mistakes happen,"

'Thanks for understanding me!!' he would've hugged Rafa, he thought, if not for the time and place,

"Brother, is he alive?" Jue asked, scared as there was no motion in Garlock's body.

"He should be," Ryu said as he scanned him using [Hide and seek],

Jue was about to move near, but Garlock suddenly woke and sat upright.

"My name is Garlock. I am a knight head of Hinsmark..." and this way, he spilled everything he knew about the Hinsmark town and Lord Hathi's attempt at finding the raiders of the dungeons.

'I see… I underestimated Lord Hathi, ' Ryu thought. He took Aiena, Jue, and Rafa to his side to discuss their plans further, leaving Garlock to wonder if he would survive.

"Big brother, what do we do now?" Jue asked,

"I never thought Lord Hathi would put knights in the path," Aiena said as she believed that Lord Hathi was short-sighted and not smart, although a big reason for thinking that was him disrespecting Ryu,

"We just need to take a longer route, going through the places where we already cleared the dungeon but to surprise him, we can't stop at villages," Ryu said, but Aiena's expression was a bit disappointed as she was looking forward to visiting a village,

"Big brother, are we still going to the same dungeon?" Jue asked, and Ryu nodded.

"Our destination doesn't need changing,"

"Big brother, what will we do with him?" Jue asked,

"Well, we can leave him tied here," Ryu said, but Aiena interjected,

"He will die, Ryu…."

'She still is resistant to killing humans…. Well, it is only fair,' Ryu thought as he sighed and patted Aiena.

"Then we will do this….." Ryu began explaining the plan he made relating to Garlock.

"Big brother, it is awesome!!" Jue said, amazed at the plan Ryu made, and Aiena was surprised too.

"This way, he won't die…."

"Rafa, big sister, can you do it?" Ryu turned to Rafa, who smiled and spoke.

"If Ryu wants it,"

Garlock, who was scared for his life, repeatedly prayed to the Goddess of Justice to save him inside his head.

"Oii, get moving!!" Ryu said as he untied his legs. Garlock began moving as directed by Ryu,

"What is going to happen to me?" he questioned in a low mumbling voice, but Ryu just grinned and spoke.

"You'll know in a while" as they were walking, Ryu spoke to Jue,

"The things we are going to do at Hinsmark!!"

"Big brother, are we really going to kill Lord Hathi?" Jue asked. His voice seemed a bit mechanical,

'Act better, you brat!!' Ryu thought as he added,

"His death is inevitable unless he somehow knew we are coming."

"With this many dungeon cores, how many people could we hire, boss?" Aiena asked, looking towards Ryu, who thought briefly and showed three fingers. He replied,

"With our 30 cores, we can get more than 300 bandits to help us,"

'He is planning to attack my town…. My family!!' Garlock thought as he began thinking of ways to escape, and suddenly the voice of monsters came from far,

"What was that!!? big brother?" Jue asked,

"A hoard of monsters!! Escape threw the dead meat here!!"

"Yes, big brother!!" Jue punched the back of Garlock, who fall on the spot,

"Sorry, it was not in the plan to kill you!!" said Aiena with a sad expression, and soon Garlock heard the voice of their feet running away. He was left there to be fed upon by monsters; he moved his face up and saw a hoard of Jawruffs coming towards him, almost 200 in number,

'I never heard of Jawruffs in hoard!!' he thought as he lamented his bad luck and questioned his decision to go ahead alone.

"If only I could inform my Lord… my family," he thought, and a miracle happened. The Jawruffs, who were huge jawed fat panther-like monsters, passed by him without even scratching him, and miraculously enough, the rope that was tying his arms seemed to have been cut by a running Jawruff's claw,

'This is the sign of the Goddess of Justice!! In the name of Adila!!' he thought as he got up on his feet as the hoard left and thought it was the goddess's will that saved him, so he could inform the Lord and save his town.

"That bastard would regret not killing me!!.... I will also earn the respect of my juniors!" Garlock thought, basking in his stellar luck. He did not know that he had fallen right into Ryu's plan.

"Big brother, are you sure Lord Hathi will believe Knight uncle?" Jue asked as they walked towards the carriage.

"He will have to when he tells the exact dungeon that got conquered recently," Ryu replied.

"Ryu, thanks," Aiena said, with a look of understanding, and Ryu nodded as he spoke.

"It is fine, Aiena. Confusing Lord Hathi is a huge plus."

"Ryu, I did it!! I even cut his ties," Rafa, who came rushing from the side, shouted, smiling as she reached near Ryu and could see her tail was wagging violently.

'Only Rafa sister could do that… I won't even ask who she is anymore!!' Ryu thought as he patted her because if not for her, no one could've made a hoard of Jawruffs and made them rush towards them without hurting a single person in the process.

"I will ride the carriage, right!!" Jue asked, his eyes sparkling,

"Yes, Jue," Ryu said, as he had promised Rafa that he'll pat her till sleep tonight as payment,
