What Happens in Texas

Texas, Community La Unión, Rosario

Accompanied by the sound of helicopter blades, the attention was so intense that all the survivors in this stadium stopped to look in horror at the helicopters heading their way.

For a long time, they hadn't seen anything flying in the sky, and seeing something like this now gave them a strange sensation. Not everything was lost, or so thought those who watched the helicopters slowly descend.

Of the five large figures, two were AH-64 Apache attack helicopters, a powerful helicopter with a firepower rarely seen in recent times. This type of helicopter and more were at the Texas military base that Daryl's group had taken.

The stadium was a huge place where helicopters could easily land, although most of it was covered by crops and some handmade houses. There was no difficulty for Dominic's people to land.

Addison Carver and the others at the meeting to decide what to do with the visitors had already come out to see the commotion outside and were surprised to see the helicopters descending towards the stadium. But as if that wasn't enough, numerous figures in gray military suits descended with weapons in their hands and formed a line in front of Dominic, who had walked towards the helicopters at some point.

Shortly after more than two hundred soldiers disembarked into the stadium, a robust man with a scar on his forehead got off the helicopter and was the only one who did not form up with the other soldiers.

Seeing that Stuart looked well, Dominic nodded and, with a slight smile, said, "You arrived sooner than expected. It must have been a difficult task to clear that military base full of walkers."

"No, it wasn't difficult to clear the military base, Commander. I'm sure you know that very well."

Stuart thought for a moment, looked around, and said, "This is an interesting place. I never thought a group of survivors would settle in a train station. Very smart of you."

Dominic remained silent next to Stuart. They understood each other without even saying a clear word about what they wanted to talk about. With a few simple words, they shared what they wanted without the others finding out.

The only thing they knew about the enemy now was that they were in some kind of church, at least the group of vampires and that mysterious Teddy mentioned by the voice from the radio. Now, what they had to do was find that church. Once they took the church, they would deal with all the damn rats affiliated with the vultures.

Perhaps dealing with the Vultures was unnecessary, but Dominic wanted to eliminate that plague that had caused so much harm to those just trying to survive the undead.

Looking at Sam's serious expression, Dominic, who was immersed in his thoughts, said, "We need to have a meeting. We must completely eliminate the vultures and all their damned people. We have to be silent, and we need to start looking through the churches."

When Sam heard Dominic's cold words, he understood that it was time to avenge Billy Fisher's death and finish off the group that attacked Dominic.

...

In a lonely church in Texas

There was a large area around it, and more than twenty men and women were standing or sitting in the open room at that moment. Everyone was looking around, yawning, and bored from time to time, as if they were waiting for something.

Ennis wasn't desperate to wait. One of the men with a strong figure and fierce appearance got up from the couch, walked to the window, looked at the night outside, and said, "Damn it, listen up, everyone. It's been a long time since the group left. Why haven't they come back?"

"Balk, why are you in a hurry? Although most of those people have no combat experience, they're strong at protecting themselves. How can they be so quick considering the crap walkers outside?"

Looking at the impatient, fierce man, a middle-aged man who was also sitting on the couch with a decadent face and a hollow body, he took a deep breath from the cigarette in his hand and said it with a relaxed expression.

Hearing this, Balk turned around and looked at the old man, a look of disdain flashing in his eyes, and said, "Ennis, Melvin hasn't contacted our group since he left. You were called by Teddy and mentioned that everyone was dead. How can you say to wait when the chances of Melvin being dead are so high?"

"Listen, idiot... Can you use your brain?"

Without looking at the noisy man, a woman named Charlie clenched her hands, took a deep breath, and said, "Did you forget the group of survivors we dealt with two months ago? Melvin made it, so now you can have that crap in your hand, so sit your ass down and shut up."

While saying this, she turned her head and looked at Ennis and said, "Melvin screwed up by shooting at a helicopter point. What the hell was he expecting to happen? If he hadn't attacked that helicopter and attracted that immense number of walkers, so many wouldn't have died, and right now we wouldn't have such a small number of people in our group."

"Enough!"

The meaning of these words was evident to Ennis. In fact, he couldn't wait to give away Melvin for his idiotic actions. But he couldn't say that; it would only upset people and create unnecessary chaos. He stood up and took a few steps forward as if he wanted to, knowing he had to control this situation.

Knowing he couldn't kill anyone here for now, he sighed. "We need to be smart and stay calm. Arguing or saying that crap won't change the damn situation we're in."

Seeing the boss take control of the situation, a woman in the crowd said, "The last radio message I received was that they eliminated all the men from the helicopter, but since then we haven't received any more messages."

"Alright, not everything is lost!"

With a clear response, Charlie nodded and then said, "On the other hand, I can go to the group we recently discovered and go as a spy. We could find out more precisely what they have, as you suggested."

Hearing this, the people around had very different expressions, and everyone symbolically applauded, but by their eyes and expressions, they showed no emotion at all.

"Ennis... Boss!"

At that moment, the church door opened, and an ugly-faced man ran in, panting heavily. He quickly walked to Ennis and said, "Receive, accept, Cin, the urgent message from the watchers."

He stuttered what he said, which angered everyone waiting in this scorching heat. Balk cursed and pointed, "Damn it, if you want to say something, say it right, or I'll kill you out of nerves."

With a kick, the ugly man fell heavily to the ground. He didn't recover for a long time, but after hearing the words of the people behind him, he quickly got up from the ground, trembling!

Seeing Balk being so arrogant in front of him, Ennis made everyone stay silent. Looking at the ugly man who got up from the ground, he said, "Breathe; don't be afraid; it's okay to speak slowly."

The ugly man looked at the kind Ennis, then turned his head to look at the extremely terrifying Balk, swallowed hard, and said, "The message said... They're coming, and there are many. After that, we heard nothing but strange sounds."

"Huh? Strange sounds?"

Hearing this news, Ennis suddenly frowned, turned his head, and told a thin young man next to him, "Check outside!"

But at that moment, the church windows were broken by objects that soon burst into curtains of smoke. When Ennis saw this, he knew they were under attack.
