Return and Discussion

Dominic was slightly dazed because he didn't realize it when he fell asleep next to Alicia at Matt's house, but it was normal given that both of them were emotionally exhausted.

When she suggested burning down the house with Matt inside, Dominic didn't care. He did the same with Emma's apartment, and it certainly brought him a slight relief to bury the memories with her deep in his heart to move forward.

Against all odds, they both returned, and Madison behaved in a way Alicia had never seen her before.

"I'm sorry for that, buddy; I couldn't hide it forever."

Dominic looked at Nick, who had approached him cautiously, but there was no one to blame, and he said, "Your sister is going to need you to be strong. She killed Matt, who turned into a walker when we arrived. If you want me to respect you, be strong and overcome the condition you're in."

The words he had just said weren't the most thoughtful; there was no reason for him to lie given the circumstances. Reality must be harsh and strong; Nick should endure that if his sister has gone through worse situations.

"And how are you feeling?" Nick sat down next to Dominic.

Dominic nodded and said, "I'm doing too well, but I don't want to talk right now."

"Yes, I understand... I'll go check on Alicia; see you." Nick walked away because Dominic seemed worse than he appeared.

When there was finally silence, Dominic took a breath of fresh air and looked up at the sky, feeling more alive than ever. Killing Emma had changed many things within him. Reality forcefully brought him back to earth and made him understand what it truly meant to be in an apocalyptic world.

"It looks like you're leaving," Dominic said, seeing Travis staring at him.

Travis gave Dominic a conflicted look and asked, "Do you want to come with us? One more won't matter; I just want you to consider it."

"Are you really going to the desert? The conditions there will be very difficult for you to handle; I don't recommend it at all," Dominic said as he sat on the grass.

"It's decided." Travis wouldn't change his mind after seeing a child's words in his eyes.

"If you're okay with it, we could go to a safe place I have with my father for emergencies. At least that place would serve as a shelter until I figure out how serious all of this is," Dominic said, getting up.

Travis smiled, seeing the kindness still in Dominic's sad eyes, and said, "It's decided; if you want to come with us, you can."

"Thank you for your invitation, sir, but I don't want to be a nuisance. Since it's difficult for you to survive with two families, I won't be an emotional burden for the journey. I hope you find a way to the safety of your own world." Dominic didn't want to waste breath telling Travis about the army's plans.

Travis sighed; he knew Dominic had his differences in how he saw the world, so he decided not to insist anymore. Besides, he didn't think it was a good idea.

"Then stay home as long as you want; don't think about leaving."

"I'll also consider that, Mr. Travis. Thank you again for your hospitality," Dominic said, thanking him for the excessive kindness shown now.

Now all he had left was to rest; there was nothing else that mattered to him. But at that moment, as if things couldn't be quiet, he heard the growl of a walker, stood up, and headed towards Mrs. Clark's neighbor's house, where he saw an elderly Asian woman trying to climb over the wooden fence.

"I missed one; well, that doesn't matter." Dominic pulled out his gun and aimed at the woman's forehead.

Bang!

"No!!!"

When Dominic shot this elderly woman almost without hesitation, Madison screamed in the distance due to the shock. She collapsed and said, "How do you make it look so easy?"

Dominic looked at Travis approaching to check on Madison and said, "Maddy, what happened?"

"She's not..." Madison murmured, pointing to the corpse of the woman who had turned into a walker.

Travis didn't say anything; he knew this was what needed to be done, but many weren't prepared to accept it. "Let's go inside; you need some fresh air."

"To answer your question about how I make it look so easy, I wonder what decision you will make when you need to kill or be killed, but I have the answer to that question knowing that you are also willing to do anything to survive." Dominic said, waving his hand and walking away from this dramatic place.

His cold-blooded character obviously wreaked havoc on the noblest of people, but if there was anyone who understood that, it was Daniel Salazar, who approached him and asked, "Who trained you so well?"

"My father..." Dominic smiled, seeing that someone had recognized him.

Daniel nodded but didn't inquire further, asking, "Let me ask you something; what do you think will happen to them?"

"They'll come back; the military will take control for a while, at best," Dominic said, wanting to leave this place.
