Chapter 64 – Math whiz and Japanese language wizard

As promised, Masayuki came to Shigure's house after work so he could tutor Hiro in his studies. There he opened the greeted, "I'm home."

"Welcome back, Masa-kun," Tohru greeted back positively and meekly.

"Oh, welcome back, Masayuki-kun," Shigure added while reading his newspaper.

"Hi there," Kyo greeted as well.

Emiko and Handa gave their greetings as well.

After he took off his shoes, Masayuki walked to the dining room. "So, where's Hiro-kun? He needs help from me in his studies."

"Oh, he's in Handa-kun's bedroom," Tohru answered back.

"Yeah, he said he needs somewhere peace and quiet." Handa sipped on his glass of water.

With that Masayuki said thank you to them and headed upstairs to Handa's bedroom. There he opened the door, seeing Hiro struggling in his homework.

"Hey, Hiro-kun, good afternoon," Masayuki greeted.

Upon hearing that, Hiro turned around. "Hey, you're in time."

Masayuki then entered the room and sat on the floor next to Hiro. "So, what problem or concept you're struggling in?"

"This formula doesn't make sense." Hiro showed his notebook to him. "How on earth I supposed to answer these?"

Looking at it, Masayuki figured it out quickly because he is a math whiz.

So, he replied, "This one is easy for me. Put it down so I'll teach you how to do it."

Hiro did so, and Masayuki showed the procedures on that formula using a sample question.

The formula is factorization in algebra, and Masayuki knows it very well.

His procedures are easy and straightforward, and Hiro understands it almost quickly.

Once he showed the answer to Hiro, Masayuki handed the pencil to him. "Now, it's your turn."

Hiro gets the pencil from him and answers the first question in the math textbook.

He got it right, and Masayuki confirmed that it was the right answer.

Hiro was happy and felt more motivated by Masayuki's tutoring.

"Thank you," he said to Masayuki gratefully, showing his happy, non-sarcastic self.

"No problem, I'm happy to help," responded Masayuki happily. "Shall we continue on?'

Hiro nodded and began answering the other questions using the procedures Masayuki showed to him.

After that, at 5:44 p.m., Hiro asked him for help in the Japanese language.

"Oh, sure, I am brilliant in that subject." Masayuki agreed in response.

And so, Hiro showed the kanji and particles in Japanese, and Masayuki explained them to him more clearly so Hiro would understand them easily.

As they continue on, Tohru watches from the hallway via the open door.

She was happy, thinking that Hiro had become less sarcastic and more nicer.
