A Lack of Interest
Mr. Brovloski couldn't help but question Joe's words, "Are you sure?"
"Mr. Brovloski, we've known each other for a long time. I have a favor to ask, so why would I hide anything from you?" Joe explained urgently.
After a moment of contemplation, Mr. Brovloski on the other end of the phone said, "Cartman family asked me to warn you—don't let this happen again."
"Don't let this happen again..."
After Mr. Brovloski hung up, Joe was puzzled. On the day of Miss Cartman's wedding, Louise family had prepared generous gifts, and even though he was thrown out, he never showed any displeasure publicly. So, it was impossible for him to offend the Cartman family! Whom had he offended?
"Don't let this happen again?" Where did this warning come from?
Cynthia couldn't possibly know anyone from the Cartman family!
Joe's handsome face was now filled with unprecedented seriousness. Just then, he happened to see Cynthia walking out of the coffee shop.
