Chapter 8

Austin quickly stood up from the bed he was sleeping on. He took a glance at Alice who was sleeping. After giving her his best she had fallen asleep. His best being a 40 minute sessions. and then a 20 minute session. Now it was time for him to get to work.

He quickly left the house and searched for victims. He found several people which he killed quickly.

He popped up behind them and snapped their necks. So far he had killed 5 different people from 5 different locations. They did not even know they were dead. The last thing that they heard was a loud crack. The snapping of their necks. The people he killed were middle class citizens. Had he killed lower class citizens then no one would care and had he killed an upper class citizen then everyone would care. He did not need that type of attention. Therefore middle class citizens were the perfect targets to create a sense of insecurity in the city.

After killing these five people Austin quickly left the city. He needed to go to the next city. The horizontal city of Amkevia. It was only 20 kilometres away and Austin did not even bother using his motorbike. He ran over there. Within a second he had appeared in the city.

"What shall I do for this city?" Austin wondered.

"If I create a sense of insecurity for two cities then I will need to spice it up. I'll have to poison this cities water supply."

Austin quickly moved down the streets at a normal pace. His steps were light and silent. When he stepped on the sand it was like he was not even there.

Quickly Austin managed to reach the cities water supply. It was a reservoir which was connected to several large tanks and pipes. Water was the source of life in every single continent and getting rid of it would create problems and that is what Austin wanted.

"Now I just need to poison the water supply. I need a strong poison that will not be cleansed even after clerics purify it. I wonder if such a poison exists." Austin said.

He thought it through for quite a distance and was at his wits end before he remembered something. The demon Lord's blood was poisonous. He had heard people say it several times including his companions but he did not know if it was true or whether it was propaganda spread by the demon lord. After all how did they know that the demon lord blood was poisonous.

Austin pulled out a small handgun. The small handgun was beautiful and it was covered in a blue and white like skin. There was a silence placed on its muzzle. It glowed faintly but after Austin loaded it, it glowed brightly.

Austin placed the gun on his thighs and unloaded the clip on it. There was not a single scratch on his body. Austin sighed, he had forgotten about how he had increased durability.

He pulled out a shotgun with a silencer and shot his thigh. Still not a scratch.

Austin pulled the trigger over and over until finally there was a small crack in his skin. Austin pulled out a hunting knife and placed in the small crack of his skin and pulled it upwards. His wound slightly increased and bright red blood came out of his legs.He quickly jumped into the reservoir and swam around it. He moved quickly reaching both ends of the reservoir within a second. He swam around it quickly for quite some time to the point were a whirlpool formed.

Austin jumped out of the reservoir. He slapped his thigh on the wound which quickly healed almost as if there had been no injury.

All he had to do now was wait and see if his blood was poisonous.

Austin spent the night going to the neighbouring cities killing people. When he killed them he always killed in a different way. He would slit their throats for one city and then suffocate them to death in the next. He did not want people to put the pieces of the jigsaw together and attract attention for him.

If he had continued snapping people's neck or slit their throats someone was bound to notice the pattern.

The sun had begun to rise and Austin quickly ran back to the imperial capital where he had booked a room for a night. He slipped in through the front gates with no one noticing him which actually surprised him. There was over 10,000 people there. Soldiers, mercenaries, adventurers and even hunters.

Austin smiled as he saw his plan was already bearing fruit. He just needed to do it once a day and in the night to lead to extreme agitation. Austin jumped into his room through the open window that he had left last night.

He walked out of his room making sure that the inn staff saw him. In case he was ever caught he would have witnesses.

Austin ordered some food and ate. He left after 10 minutes after ordering some food in a takeaway box. Austin reached a small house in the corner of the city next to the wall. It was a small comfortable house.

He knocked on the door several times and waited for an answer. No one answered so he looked through the window. He saw Melanie fast asleep on the couch. There was a lock on the outside of the door. He picked the lock on the door open and went inside.He placed the food on the table and left not bothering to put the lock back on.

He knew why there was a lock on the door. It was because of her abusive alcholic mother. Melanie's father killed himself after he reached a breaking point and could not withstand the abuse her mother put her through. Usually the woman spend most of her time gambling, stealing, hooking up with men and drinking alchol. She would lock Melanie in the house and forget about her for as long as two to three days.

Austin wanted to take Melanie with him but he knew could not take her with him after all he was the hero. He spent most of his time fighting monsters, diving into dungeons, training and solving problems for normal citizens. The journey was to dangerous for her.

'Wait, but now, I'm free! I don't have to do all that. I can just leave her in a house and check up on her every day. She would be free to do whatever she wants, and then I could also enrol her in a school.'

Austin slapped himself and wondered why he did not think of this before. This little girl had needed his help and he had not helped her. All he did was just give her food every now and then and he actually thought he was helping her. Austin held his head in shame. He was ashamed of himself. He kept asking himself questions like why he had not helped her? Why had he not made an effort?

Austin let go of his forehead and with determination in his eyes he took of. If he had not helped her before at least he could do that now. He could help her.

In a dark alley a group of people were gathered around a board. A woman was in the middle of the group sitting on a man's lap as she drank alchol from a dirty bottle. She placed 3 gold coins on the board before picking up the dice.

"Honey, why don't you stop playing? 3 gold is enough money to buy us as much booze as we want for 2 months." The man said as he wrapped his arm around the woman and kissing her neck.

The woman giggled and let out a moan of pleasure. She touched the man's head and said. "But if I win we will have enough money for 6 months. Don't you trust me honey? Or have you lost trust in me?"

The man kept kissing her neck. "No I have not, I trust you but surely it's best not to push our luck, if we do we may not have enough for tommorow."

"Watch me!" the woman said as she shook the wooden cap the diced were in. The man held his breath and kept his eye on the wooden cap. Everyone did. The sound of the rattling dice was unsettling everyone's nerve. They held their breaths as the dice rolled onto the board.

"YESSSS! 18!" The woman shouted as she pointed at the three dices with 6's on them.

"First 3 rounds are on me at Moe's" she shouted resulting in a loud cheer from the group.

The lady stood up from the man's lap and started dancing along with the other men. As they were about to leave the woman heard someone call for her name. She turned around to see a man. It wasn't just any man but the sexiest man she had ever seen. She could see his nipples, muscles and abs through his shirt. His hair was something that she had never seen before on a man but it suited him.

"Malory, come here." he said. The woman was slightly buff with gigantic breasts that seemed more like muscles than breasts. The woman was entranced by the man's voice and started walking forward. She was pulled back the man whose lap she had been sitting on.

"Look at this fella, what do you want pretty boy?"

Austin rolled his eye and clicked his teeth.

"I want to speak to that lady over there and not you, go mind your own business." Austin replied.

"Huh," the man said as he put on an intimidating face. Austin flinched as the man's face was really ugly and had scared him for a second. The man saw the flinching and thought that Austin was scared of him. He smiled menacingly which made Austin flinch more as his face was really ugly. He looked like a horse that was smiling and had worn makeup.

"Honey, stop scaring the guest." Malory said as she hugged the man. "He could be a customer for we know." Malories hug was really tight. "How about you leave him to me and go to Moe's and I'll catch up with you guys."

The man nodded and before he left he kissed Malory on her lips and grabbed her ass. He then left. Austin had the most confused and disgusted look on his face because he knew what was on the man's mind. He thought Austin was planning to steal his woman so he made sure to kiss her in front of him.

Malory turned to Austin and walked over seductively to him.

"So cutie, what is it that you want?" she said as she touched Austin's body seductively. Austin flinched but stood still.

Malory giggled. "Don't worry, I only bite when I need to. So what shall it be?"

Austin took a deep breath before saying what he came for. "I'm here to buy your daughter."
