Late bloomer

I'm now almost one year old, my birthday is nearing, I think that my parents are worrying that I'm not developing well. It is due to the fact that this whole time I was a human I haven't uttered a single word. Sure I might be a late bloomer, but late by months is concerning. Baby's at the age of five or six months normally start saying one word or two, but here I am at the age of about one year and still no words to come. To be truthful I was to wrapped up in reading the whole library that I forgot to play the part of the genius son I was planning to do. I guess that it still works to my advantage, I can just start late but improve quickly. You know what, today will be my first word, parents get ready because in a few weeks I will improve very much (since I'm impatient and don't want to take years to be able to communicate with my parents). After today I will be trying my hardest to convince my parents that I am not a dumb child but quite the opposite, I will be a genius in their eyes.

As mother enters the room to wake me up she is met with me starting back at her and reaching up to her, I say "Ma!" several times until she is brought to tears with joy because she realised that I was addressing her. She calls over my father and the moment he comes in I point to him and say "Da". With this both my parents seem to be over the moon. they are over joyed with my first words and that they were here to witness it. Little do they know that I already read their whole private collection of books in the library.

Either way to celebrate my first words my parents brought me outside, this is not an often occurrence, since I am still small my parents won't risk bringing me outside. But I guess that they must have overlooked that fact in their excitement. Either way, I'm not against it, it will give my a chance to see the outside world of the humans, I will also be able to see where my home is and how it looks like from the outside, In case j find myself lost and needing to find it.

As we leave our property, I get to have a good look at our house, then it hits me, it's not a house, this whole time I was living in a frickin palace. Wow humans are so extra, even if I am part of a royal family this palace is really to big. It can probably fit my whole dragon clan inside, with room to spare. I turn my head around to see the rest of my surroundings, we have reached a merchant area so there is traffic. Although our carriage is the fanciest one around it's not the biggest, there are hay carriages and merchants' carriages who stay parked on the side of the road. They most likely pack up at night and set up again in the morning. This place is so much more lively than the palace-home I just came from, here there are many more colours and entertaining, it also seems like there are many learning opportunities. Here I can understand the way humans trade, interact and how their way of life is. Those things in my opinion are very valuable lessons.
