Chapter 1

She would always go unnoticed. At least that was what she thought. Having Klaus and Nova as her brother and sister anyone would. With their extrovert personalities, looks and talents, they could outshine anyone. Apart from being the heirs of house Carpio, the holy protectors of earth's realm, one of the strongest and most famous. They were part human and angelus, born to fight against dark forces that threatened their world. Despite the strength and power those creatures had, these protectors had talents of their own. Gifts that mortal humans would describe as magic. Each of them varied and house Carpio was extremely famous among the known eight realms for the unique abilities each generation inherited.

Their father was Callen Carpio, a royal among royalties. Fearless, wise, handsome and tenacious. Their mother was Eva Carpio, originally born form house Prudens located in the third realm in a world called Berieri, known for its endless coldness and exotic creatures that the Berierians were able to domesticate. Eva was known for her god-like looks and extremely kind and benevolent personality. Just as wise and fair as her husband. However, Iris only knew about the coldness those magenta colored eyes held, they weren't as kind as most people thought, at least not to her.

Iris was the second born and first daughter of house Carpio. She was different. The black sheep of the family one could say. Not only for her looks, but her personality as well. She was reserved, spoke little even to her own family and she was always alone, at least most of the time. Despite these traits, she was well behaved and never caused trouble. Her father was the closest to her. They would gather from time to time, when he had free time and they talked, no one knew what their topics of conversation were but despite the oddness Iris had, his father enjoyed her company very much. But he was the only member of house Carpio that enjoyed her company. Her siblings were indifferent, they weren't exactly mean to her at least not on purpose, but they weren't warm either. Klaus and Nova would always hang together without Iris, they grew up being close. It was Klaus and Nova against the world. Eva was indifferent to her too. But it was different. It was as if she didn't like her own daughter up to the point of being almost hatred, as if there was something wrong with her, and maybe there was.

All demi-angels had the power of angelic attacks. Which consisted on releasing angelic energy in many forms such as blast, bold projection, wave emission, among many others. However, only the strongest houses were able to inherit other gifts as well. At the age of ten the demi-angels are supposed to manifest these other gifts. Klaus, being the oldest among the three siblings manifested the power to manipulate angelic flames and another known as Annulment. Although the power to control flames was not very uncommon among royalties, Annulment was. It was the power to seize all kinds of powers momentarily. Make a demi-angel into a human for a period of time, it applies not only for demi-angels but for enemy creatures and demi-demons as well. His parents were proud to say the least, as expected of the first born of the Carpio. When Nova turned ten she inherited the power of manipulating and creating ice, such as her mother Eva, as well as the ability of healing and identifying any form of injury and disease. Although they were demi-angels, they weren't indestructible or immortal, they were part human as well. Which made this power very helpful and loved by many. Both siblings were able to master their angelic attacks at a very young age as well.

Iris on the other hand, despite being part of house Carpio didn't inherit any form of power. It was shocking news among the eight realms and the royal houses. Even her angelic attacks weren't as powerful as her siblings. Her abilities were comparable to demi-angels who weren't part of any royal houses at all. It was a pity really. Many began to doubt if she was even part of house Carpio at all. Regardless of the bad news, her father supported her even more. He had no doubts about what her daughter was capable of and he knew there was more that meet the eye.

The lack of Iris's abilities created more detachment to the other members of her family. Her siblings were ashamed and her mother treated her more cruelly without the presence of her father who was the only one to dote her. Not only that, but it was rumored that Iris had a weak complexion and that she was more susceptible to catch any form of diseases which explained why she wasn't able to travel to the other realms and assist any royal gatherings assisted by the Carpio family. Klaus and Nova assisted to all the gatherings held by other houses. By doing so they were able to befriend many and create a powerful reputation. Whereas Iris didn't even attend the Carpio family gatherings in their own realm. Her existence by itself was a mystery to their kind. The only ones to know her directly were her family and very few demi-angels that worked under house Carpio and were close friends to Callen.

When Iris turned eleven it was announced an alliance between house Carpio and the second most powerful house located in the second realm, house Sabin. A marriage agreement was held between the second born of house Sabin, Everett Sabin and shockingly, the first daughter of house Carpio. Iris Carpio. She could no longer go unnoticed.
