INVITATION LETTER

Diana, Mary, and little Wendy arrived home early from the mall. They were welcomed by some of the maids who took their shopping bags from their hands and went to place them in their respective rooms.

Mrs.Portia was sitting in the living room writing out invitation letters to send out. She called one of the maids and gave the letters to her to send to the people she had invited for the party tomorrow evening.

The maid bowed and left to do what she had been asked.

Mrs. Portia saw that her daughters had arrived and stopped whatever she was doing.

Little Wendy run towards her Mom and embraced her.

"Mommy!" she called as she hugged her mom.

Mrs. Portia hugged her daughter back and smiled.

"You sure look very happy today, my girl," she said pulling back from little Wendy's embrace and cupping her face.

"Yes mama, I'm sooo happy!" she exclaimed, spreading her arms wide and gesturing to her mom about the extent of her happiness.

Diana and Mary who were now settled on the sofa facing them chuckled lightly at little Wendy's actions.

Little Wendy told her mom all about their time in the mall and the beautiful dress she had got.

"I can't wait to see you in that pretty dress of yours then," Portia said to her daughter smiling.

"I hope you also got nice outfits for yourselves too" her question was directed to Diana and Mary now.

"Yes Mom" Diana was the one to reply, and both of them didn't say much about their clothes. They wanted to surprise their Mom.

As they continued chatting with each other in the living room, the butler came in.

"Dinner is ready" he informed them.

"Let's go get you girls something to eat. I'm sure you're very hungry, aren't you?"Portia said as she ushered them into the dining room.

Diana stayed back and asked the butler about the ongoing preparations.

"I hope everything is fine with the preparations. I want everything to be well organized and on point."

"Yes please, Lady Diana, everything is going on well so far."

"Alright, Gilbert. Don't hesitate to ask for my help with anything you need."

"Yes please." Gilbert bowed his head and headed to the kitchen.

Lady Diana went to join Portia and the girls in the dining room and they had their dinner.

Mrs.Rose was sitting in the drawing-room of her mansion sipping on her hot tea when she heard a knock on the door.

"Come in" she ordered, and the butler came into view holding a letter in his hands.

"There's a letter from the Evestons for you Lady Rose," George informed her.

"Alright." she stretched out her hands towards the butler and took the letter from his hands."You can leave."

George bowed his head and walked out of the room.

Rose opened the letter and read its content.

"Dear Rose,

It's been a long while since we last saw each other. I hope you and your family are doing well. It is my little daughter's birthday celebration tomorrow evening and I would like to invite you and your family to grace the occasion with your presence. We would also be able to catch up with each other and talk too. I know the letter came in quite late, but I hope you would still be able to make it.

Yours lovely,

Portia."

Mrs.Rose closed the letter and placed it on the table beside her. She took a deep breath and continued sipping on her tea.
