Fractless

In the cyber-advanced country of Melysia, it isn't uncommon to have a unique supernatural ability known as a Fractal. Some people have increased speed or strength, while others can levitate or even conjure fire. Klyson "Fifth" Rainer is the fifth in-command of a team known as the Tenfold: ten commanders that each lead an infantry of "Angel" soldiers in Melysia's military. All the individuals in the Tenfold have special Fractals that allow them to control their soldiers in special ways, except for Klyson, who is Fractless. He was born without a Fractal. After an unexpected turn of events in Klyson's first battle as a commander, he's left to realize the struggles behind being a Fractless in a society full of Fractals. Truths behind his reality begin to unravel itself in unexpected ways, leaving Klyson with a journey to seek out what really is authentic in Melysia.

Epilogue: Sav Gallagher

"What in tarnation…?"

I looked around the scene, and all of it was a dammed mess.

"How could someone do this?" Celeste said. "All of these innocent people, hundreds, dead."

"Cyber City's become a bloodbath, that's fer' sure…"

I noticed that everyone had been crushed beneath loads of debris. 'Twas an awful sight.

"Who would do such wicked things, other than the folks at Heathen?" I recalled what'd happened that day at the apartment—the ambush of hundreds of tenants. "Ya think this is work of that Sin of Discrimination?"

"It could be…" I saw Cynthia observin' the corpses, ponderin' over the matter. "This is definitely something that they're probably capable of doing on their own. But for some reason, something tugs me the other way. It feels like there's more people involved with this…"

"Well, it is Heathen after all," I added on. "Who knows how many people are a part of all that."

"Hundreds. No… thousands." Celeste turned to me. "If it comes down to it, do you think you could warp more than one person at a time now, Sav?"

I nodded. "The leftie has become apt. I can do at least two at once now. But if we encounter a big crowd like that again, I don't feel like I'm the one ye should be countin' on."

"Then who?"

I looked over to the shadows, where the man stood twitchin' in place.

"The itchy one over there, Garren." I scoffed. "He could wipe out an army in an instant."

Celeste nodded. Cynthia nodded. I nodded back. We all understood that we were soon facin' a dangerous threat at large. But to my motivation, flarin' hotter more than ever, were the thoughts of my fallen camaraderie—the ones who been dead for a while now.

"We'll avenge those three—Kyra, Emanuel, and Klyson."

His name is remembered among his previous colleagues, but not in the way you expected...

With the birth of Heathen's Fractless executioner, was Klyson "Fifth" Rainer dead to his former friends back at A.X.A.?
