CHAPTER 12: MIX UP

Dia shot his leg, wanting to rush things faster.

"Argh…" David cried.

"Tell me everything you know about ENOX," Dia said and pointed the gun at his below, private part, "my hand might slip here."

"No…no…no…I really don't know anything. I only donate money to them," said David fearfully.

There was nothing popped up in Dia's mind. It meant that he told the truth.

"How did you get the drugs?" Dia asked.

"What are you talking about?" David asked, nervously.

<How could she know?> there were the true words popped up in Dia's mind.

Dia shot at his inner thigh.

"Arghhh…" David cried, frighteningly.

"I won't miss next time," Dia said.

"No, I will tell you," said David, fearfully. His leg was badly hurt.

"I bought it from William Griseus. He produces and sells the drugs in Adamas Kingdom. Ah, he might know something about ENOX but I don't know much in details. I accidentally heard he talked about ENOX with his bodyguard," said David tiredly.

<I will die for sure at this rate.> there were the true words popped up in Dia's mind.

"Apart from drugs and women trafficking, what else did you do?" Dia asked.

"No, there is nothing else," said David anxiously.

There was nothing popped up in Dia's mind. It meant that he told the truth.

"Where did you keep the records?" Dia asked.

"I kept everything in the secret room in my house," said David anxiously.

"Do you know about William Griseus's weakness?" Dia asked.

"He's very careful person. I don't know his weakness. Oh, he dotes on his daughter so much," said David tiredly.

"What is her name? And where she often goes?"

"Her name is Claudia Griseus. She often goes shopping at WG Complex Mall and fitness center at WG Hotel. Those places belong to William," said David, he was likely to faint.

Dia called Regina.

"Check the latest video and send someone to clean up at DC nightclub,"

{What? Wait…Let me check first.} Regina said.

Dia was afraid that David might lose too much blood. She activated 'Lightning Magic', then caught him to make him lost consciousness. She used her power to heal his leg.

{Why did you use your power?} Regina asked, annoyingly. She talked to her after she saw the video.

"It's easier. Check the profile of Claudia Griseus for me. I will approach William's daughter to make things done quickly," Dia said and hung up. She did not want to listen her nag any longer.

She teleported back to her car and drove to Potentia Apartment.

The next day,

Dia called Regina again.

{What's happening this time?} Regina asked.

"Can you arrest everyone except for William? Accuse them as the suspected money launderers and invite them to talk," Dia asked.

{Why?} Regina asked.

"As you know, I have the way to inspect them. If you wanted me to approach them without using magic power, you should do as I say," Dia said.

{All right. I already sent you the profile of Claudia Griseus via email. I will call you later.} Regina said and hung up.

Dia opened the email to check the profile of Claudia Griseus. She was surprised with her pretty face. She has nothing resemble her father at all.

She booked the room at WG Hotel, which is located in the city of Austellus for 1 month. She prepared herself to approach Claudia and William in Austellus State.

A few days passed,

Regina called Dia.

Dia picked up call, then said, "Hello."

{Can you go to police station at the outskirts of Medietas tomorrow at 9 A.M.? All the police officers in that police station are our people. I told them to appoint everyone for you starting from 9 A.M. You have time to talk to them 1 hour each. I will be there as well.} Regina said.

"All right," Dia said and hung up.

She read all the profiles of 6 suspected people again.

The next day,

Dia disguised herself by wearing magical-realistic mask (fake face), brown wavy wig, green contact lens, and sunglasses, then went to police station in the outskirts of Medietas.

After she reached to the police station, she got inside and went to meet Regina in the observation room.

"Our people used fake account bank to transfer money to the suspected people at the same time the other day. We informed them that they might relate to drug trafficking organization and help them do money launder. This is your detective inspector badge," Regina said and handed her a badge, "Everything will be recorded in that room."

"I got it," Dia said and walked out of the room.

She used 'The Eye of Truth' and went inside the interrogation room. She saw Nathan Instar, one of distant relatives of Arcanum Family, a 35-years-old man who has short, neat, brown hair, and blue eyes. He looks so calm and serious.

"Hello, Mr. Instar. I'm Julia Scientia, a detective inspector who response for your case," Dia said and secretly activated 'Familia' on him.

"Hello, Detective Inspector" said Nathan calmly.

<It's a waste of my time.> there were the true words popped up in Dia's mind.

"As you already knew, we were tracking the large drug trafficking organization and we suspected that they relate to ENOX, the charity organization." Dia said.

"Is it true?" Nathan asked, surprisingly.

<I donated a lot of money to ENOX.> there were the true words popped up in Dia's mind.

"Well, it's the reason why we invited you here," Dia said.

"I admitted that I donated a lot of money to ENOX because they helped people's lives but I have nothing to do with them and drug trafficking organization. More importantly, I do business relating to medical products. I will not risk myself to do anything relate to illegal drugs," said Nathan seriously.

There was nothing popped up in Dia's mind. It meant that he told the truth.

"I see. We will cooperate with the bank to confiscate that suspected money from your bank account. Please keep everything we talked today secret. We want to arrest the real culprits very soon," Dia said and inactivated 'Familia' on him.

"Yes, I will do so," Nathan said and left.

Afterward, Dia used the same question and the same method to interrogate the others.

"What? I don't know anything about them," Logan said, surprisingly. Logan Pistris, one of distant relatives of Navitus Family, a 29-years-old man who has short, purple hair, and purple eyes.

<Am I in trouble?> there were the true words popped up in Dia's mind.

"Well, you got money transferred from them and you always donated to ENOX," Dia said.

"I donated to ENOX because they had cured my father who got fatal disease. We went to many hospitals and all the doctors said that they could not cure my father. And I really don't know anything about drug trafficking, I swear," said Logan honestly.

There was nothing popped up in Dia's mind. It meant that he told the truth.

"I see. Don't you think they transferred the wrong account number? I called to the bank immediately after I got a massage. And I always donate to ENOX with the purpose of tax deduction," Peter said. Peter Stone, a 38 years-old-man who has short, brown hair, and brown eyes. He looks so sly and tricky. A suspected people who did stock manipulation and tax evasion without leaving any evidence.

<Why didn't they check everything before they called me? I thought that they found something about me.> there were the true words popped up in Dia's mind.

"Well, we suspected you did many things relating to stock manipulation and we found that you use many bank accounts under other people's names for avoiding the suspicious sources of your income, and not to pay the right amount of tax. You intentionally did many things as tax evasion, Mr. Stone" Dia said.

"I can sue you for accusing me without any evidence," said Peter angrily.

<How could they know about it? I'm sure I didn't leave any evidence.> there were the true words popped up in Dia's mind.

"Are you sure you didn't do those things?" Dia asked.

"Yes, I'm sure…argh" Peter's heart throbbed.

"We installed special technology of lie detector. It made your heart hurt when you are lying," Dia told him a lie.

"I will sue all of you. How could you use this method to the innocent people?" Peter said, angrily.

<I will make them pay for this.> there were the true words popped up in Dia's mind.

"I will ask you again. Did you do stock manipulation and tax evasion?" Dia asked.

"No…argh," Peter exclaimed, then said, "I want a lawyer."

<I have to get out of here.> there were the true words popped up in Dia's mind.

"I'm sorry to say that your case is serious crime. You have no right to call the lawyer," Dia told a lie, then asked, "I will ask you again. Did you do stock manipulation and tax evasion?"

"N…argh," Peter was badly hurt.

<If you continued to lie, you might die before you can use your money.> mind communicated Dia.

"What? Did you hear anything?" Peter asked, frighteningly.

"No," Dia told a lie.

Peter trembled uncontrollably.

<Am I under the illusion?> there were the true words popped up in Dia's mind.

"I will ask you again. Did you do stock manipulation and tax evasion?" Dia asked.

Peter said nothing, trembling with fear.

<I will die for sure at this rate. What do I do?> there were the true words popped up in Dia's mind.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you. If you got the shock on your heart too much, you might get the heart disease or any other side effects with the rest of your life," Dia told him a lie.

"What? Why didn't you tell me before?" said Peter angrily.

<What the hell with this lie detector? I was really hurt.> there were the true words popped up in Dia's mind.

"Normally, the other people did not lie more than 2 times but you seemed to be persistent, Mr. Stone" Dia said.

"I will sue you all," said Peter angrily.

<How can I escape from this situation?> there were the true words popped up in Dia's mind.

"Do whatever you want but you have to answer my question," Dia said. She wanted to rush things up.

"I didn't…ouch" Peter was in tears, being painful, then said, "All right. I admitted it. I did everything as you said. I'm a hacker and I managed to manipulate the stock market without leaving evidences. And I have many bank accounts in many countries by hiring many people to open bank accounts for me. It's the best way to avoid the suspicion."

There was nothing popped up in Dia's mind. It meant that he told the truth.

"Where did you keep your computer?" Dia asked.

"I have secret room in my house. It was in the basement floor," Peter said.

"Please cooperate with the police officers," Dia said and inactivated 'Familia' on him.

"Yes," said Peter hopelessly.

The 2 police officers came inside. One of them gave the statement of his crimes to sign.

Afterward, they arrested him and took him out of the room.
