I have been inspired to write after seeing a bunch of novels and fan fics on here. English is my first and only language but I will probably make some spelling mistakes and the story might not flow as well as most other stories. I will not drop this but I do have a busy life so my updates might not be crazy consistent but I will try to upload at least 1 chapter a week. I do not own the cover picture, if the original creator wants me to take it down just message me and I will. I will also make some references in this novel to help have a better under standing of what I am to visualize. Wish me the best of luck, BBQ_Sauce.

Is This Proof Enough

Smiling wider knowing that this battle will be a true show of swordsmanship, I back off then charge right back for his neck. Harold leaned his head back keeping eye contact with me. Missing my attack, I grab his hair with my other hand and bring my knee towards his head. Seeing my plan, he grabbed the leg that wasn't going towards his face and yanked me back.

Getting flinged back I redirect myself in the air, once I landed I charged again aiming for his liver. Harold seeing wear I was aiming for blocked where I was going to hit with his sword, but it was a fake. Spinning around I try to hit Harold's side with my sword. Reacting quickly Harold sidestepped and swung his sword to block mine.

This caused my sword and arm to get swung to the side leaving me wide open to be attacked. Seeing this Harold decided to go on the offense, after blocking my attack he lunged forward and did an upward slash going from the bottom right torso to the top left shoulder.

Knowing I can't block this attack I leaped backwards while leaning backwards. I couldn't dodge the whole attack, I ended up getting grazed a little bit. Not letting it get to me I land on my hands and push off to land on my feet. Bending my feet to push forwards I go for Harold's knee again.

I was blocked again by Harold doing the same thing by using his sword to block mine and raising his leg. This wasn't my true intention though. I kept my momentum from my first lunge and squatted down putting all my pressure on my left foot. I extended my right foot and kicked towards Harold's other knee.

Not being able to block or move away from my attack, I landed my kick on his knee. This caused Harold to fall forward, to not get landed on. I stepped down with my right foot right behind Harold's right leg and moved in between his legs.

Harold, not wanting to get taken so easily, decided to somersault forward when he fell and turned around immediately on his knees. Lunging forward to not give Harold time to stand up, I followed him as he was somersaulting and swung my sword to his neck as he turned around.

Seeing the sword inches from his neck, Harold dove forward and tackled me to the ground. He pinned my arms with his legs and put his sword up to my neck.

"So, is this proof enough of my skills?" Harold said with a smug expression but knowing full well that defeating the kid was a lot harder than he thought it would be.

"It is satisfactory, to be honest I know you were holding back so I could have lost a while ago. So what are you going to teach me?" I ask while tilting my head trying to act cute, but it failed since Harold knew the true power of the kid in front of him.

"Wasn't the whole point of me coming here was actually to see how well you can fight against a +A rank adventurer? I thought I was just fooled to get here since if I was told to fight a 5 year old child I would have told them they are nuts. But after seeing your skills first hand I know if you were at my rank the fight would have gone differently. And how long were you following me? I couldn't tell you were right behind me until the last moment." Harold said, confused.

"Oh, well my father doesn't know I already know some swordsmanship. Actually no one knows I know swordsmanship. So this will be a cover for me so he won't be surprised when I can just miraculously defend myself with a sword. Plus if I can actually learn something from you even better. As for me following you, the whole time. I heard your conversation with my father then I followed you here, where I was right behind you shadowing your movements for a while, until I decided to test you." I said while putting a finger on my chin trying to remember all that has happened.

"THE ENTIRE TIME!!!" What I said apparently broke the retired adventurer. To be fair, adventurers have to be on high alert all the time when they go hunt monsters, it's not the easiest or safest job in the world. Besides I was a 5 year old for crying out loud. Calming down and remembering everything I said Harold said.

"Wait, why are you keeping secrets from your father. Aren't you supposed to be I don't know, thinking like he is some untouchable being trying to seek his attention and wanting to make him proud?" Harold is still confused about what is being said.

"F*ck that b*st*rd. Like h*ll I would want to seek attention from someone like him. What would you do if someone killed your mother or wife. Take revenge right? Or would you suck up to him like you just suggested?" I said my bloodlust emanated with every word I spoke. Calming down, I apologize for my actions.

"Y-you are fine. Wait, did he kill someone important to you or something?" Harold said, starting to understand the whole story.

"Yes, he killed my mother right after she gave birth to me. And as to how I know this, I saw it with my own eyes. Let's just say I have a perfect memory and I remember everything I have seen, read, or heard since I was born into this world." I said, knowing the man in front of me can be trusted.

After hearing the conversations he has had with my father and actions up to this far, I know I can trust him. Not only that there was a saying in my old world that you can see a lot about a person through their way of fighting. And after fighting him I know he is a trustworthy person so I decided to tell him what I know.
