"You shouldn't have to leave when I'm right beside you".
He said I said nothing and just kept looking at him.
"Whatever it is, it doesn't matter if you are blushing, or embarrassed or you feel isolated and devastated. As long as I am with you, you don't ever have to worry about running away".
"I told you, that's not the case. I'm... I'm not running away".
He smiled lightly.
"Running or walking. You can just be with me".
It was getting too much, from the way he spoke to the way he looked at me, to the way he held me. I couldn't help but hiccup as I kept looking at him.
I couldn't take it anymore so I forcefully took my hand away from him and left the garden, forgetting my phone on the couch.
Somehow, talking to him helped me forget about everything that was bothering me. I'd usually keep thinking till I finally just decide to stop thinking about it and make it seem irrelevant but today, I didn't even bother to stop myself from thinking about what happened with my dad. All I could think about was him.
I fell on the bed while looking at the ceiling. My hair was scattered all over the bed as I remained lost in my thoughts. I didn't want to fall for him but I was falling for him so hard, I knew I'd never fallen for someone this much.
I thought about him for a while and finally fell asleep.
Jason waited for a while before going upstairs. When he got there, he noticed she was already asleep. He went close to her, gently lifted her, and placed her on the right of the bed properly. When he was done, he went to the other side and laid down to sleep. It didn't take long for him to fall asleep as he wrapped his arms around her tiny body, the warmth from her body made him sleep off almost immediately.
Grandpa O'Brien and Jason's father sat in Grandpa O'Brien's study late at night, looking pretty serious.
"Father, I know Nadia is a good girl, and she looks like a child who is easy to love but the Blakes will take our business to a whole new level. Fine, I know they do not have as many connections as we do. But at the very least, they are better at importation, which is very important".
Jason's dad looked like he was trying to encourage his father to talk to Jason about having a rethink on Melissa.
"Jason loves this girl. It's been ages since I last saw my grandson this happen".
"He can keep her if he wants father but not as his wife".
Grandpa O'Brien gave his son a sour look.
"Just like you did"?
He asked in a harsh tone.
"We are not having any other mistresses in this family. The one you had is enough for six generations!!"
He yelled in annoyance. He did not like the suggestion his son was giving it would have sounded better if he said Jason should just let her go. But instead, he was suggesting that Jason keeps her as his mistress.
"To think you'd have come back to your senses after what she did to you all those years".
"That's not what I'm trying to say Dad. You and I both know that I have repented from the mistake I made years ago. Right now, I'm only thinking about what's good for Jason and the company".
"Oh please!!"
Grandpa O'Brien said as he waved it off.
"Jason knows what's best for him. He is determined and focused. You got married to Kate because she had an influential father and now, you want to do the same thing to my grandson? Forget it".
"Father!!!"
Jason's dad yelled. He didn't like how his dad was talking. He made it seem like he did not care about his family and only did things for the money.
"You say all this but forget that you introduced me to Kate".
"I'm not disputing that fact. But I also remember calling you and asking if you had anyone. You said you didn't so I arranged someone for you. How is that bad"?
He asked feeling totally right. Jason's dad said nothing as he knew he'd never win to his father.
"Let Jason be, but don't push Melissa away either. If she ends up proving that the love she has for him is stronger, then so be it. Until then, Nadia is the only one I know".
Jason's dad sighed and decided to end the topic. He was a bit consoled by the fact that his father was willing to give Melissa a chance. He could not ask for more.
"I should let you rest Father. It's been a long day".
Grandpa O'Brien said nothing but nodded as his son stood up to leave. When Mr O'Brien, Jason's dad got to his room, he saw his wife sleeping peacefully on the bed. He kept staring at her and although their marriage had not always been rosy, she still remained with him.
She was always the type of child to be tossed around by her parents. She didn't get much love but still had to do everything they asked her to do. She lived in bondage till she met her husband. She fell in love with him immediately after she met him and agreed to marry him that same day. Not like she really had that much of a choice.
After their marriage, they went through so many ups and downs but after what felt like forever, he decided to be devoted to her and love her with all he has. That was when they finally began to know and love each other more. He went to the bed, holding her tight, and he fell asleep.
It was so early and the sun's rays penetrated my eyes. I tried to block it with my hand and that was when I noticed I was being trapped by a bigger body.
I noticed Jason was holding me but I tried to turn and when I succeeded, I was looking at his face. He looked so good I felt like touching him but I refused to be tempted.
I was still looking at him when I heard him speak.
"Good morning beautiful".
