Rumors

Tin Foley walked out of the office as gently as possible. She did not want her boss to think anything was wrong.

When she got to her desk, both Li Sa-ra and Anita Blake were there so she asked.

"Did any of you see who brought this"?

She asked but they both shook their heads.

She knew the boss was waiting for her so she put it in her drawer and went back to the boss' office.

"What time is the meeting"?

I asked as soon as she got close enough.

"It is scheduled for eleven AM, which means it is in the next fifteen minutes".

She said and I nodded.

"Alright, anything else"?

I asked.

"You have a press conference by 2 pm".

I raised my head to look at her.

"A press conference"?

I asked as I was not aware of this.

"It is just for formalities, people want to know what GALLERY is all about".

I nodded, showing that I understood.

"That would be all for today now ma'am, I'll let you know if something else comes up".

I nodded and she bowed and left.

I had about twenty files to approve and I had only approved of six because I had to read through all of them.

It was time for the meeting so I had to leave. This time around, Li Sa-ra and Tin Foley both came with me as Anita stayed behind.

On the way to the meeting room, Tin Foley kept looking at Nadia. She was so worried as to who could have done such a thing.

***A few minutes ago***

Tin Foley was done giving the scheduled information to her boss so she came out of the office and went to her desk.

She was typing something on her system when she remembered the package she carried from her boss' desk.

She brought out the package and began opening it. Anita and Li Sa-ra both came to see what was in the box as they were equally curious.

When Tin Foley opened the box, she was about to scream but Li Sa-ra was quick to stop her as she placed her hand around her mouth to stop her from screaming.

It was a box with blood and a dead rat. This type of package was usually sent to people as a threat. It was usually to let you know that the person sending it is close by and that person definitely does not like you.

"Who could have done this"?

Anita asked as Tin Foley was still in shock.

"Whoever it is, we can't show this to the boss yet. She has a lot to do, she can't have any distracting thoughts".

It was Li Sa-ra who spoke and both Anita and Tin Foley looked at her in shock.

"How are you not surprised"?

Anita asked.

"Waa!! Is it because you are a bodyguard? You are so cool".

Li Sa-ra just looked at the both of them without saying anything. She was the only one standing as the other two ladies were seated so she was looking at them with her eyes facing downwards but she didn't bend her neck. While the two other ladies were looking at her with their necks raised and their eyes opened in amusement.

***Back to present***

It didn't take much time before the meeting started and as expected, they had a lot to say because of the little time they had. There were so many things to talk about and tackle and before I knew it, we had already spent more than an hour in the meeting room.

"I'd like for us to make just two colors of lipstick. Nude and red, those are the only colors we'll be launching but of course, those two colors should become someone's favorite. Nothing should be inferior in quality and if this goes wrong, I'll have the head of department to blame".

I said as I finalized the topic on lipstick.

"I'll be there for the first batch of production, which includes the powder and eye shadow. I don't want anything looking like mud".

The heads of the department were surprised she wanted to be there to see them work. At first, they thought she was just a proud lucky girl who gained favor from the chairman of the O'Brien's group. But it seems this lady was ready to prove them wrong.

When I was done with them, I went on to the outfits.

"What about the outfits, have you come up with any nice names yet"?

I asked the head of the design team and the head of the clothing team too.

"Uhh... well... we were thinking we should name it after the company since it is the first outfit the company is launching".

The head of the clothing team said but I did not agree with it.

"It's a nice idea, but it is well anticipated don't you think"?

I asked and she could not respond.

"Everything we are launching is going to be tagged GALLERY's first look but the outfits should have a special tag to them. Like a topic with a subheading".

I said and it seemed they got the message as they kept nodding.

"Do you have any ideas, ma'am".

The head of design asked but I gave her a stern look.

"Is that my job too"?

I asked and she immediately refuted.

"Ahh no, no, not at all".

I then turned to everyone and said.

"Let me know when you come up with something".

The meeting was finally over. After which I went to each department. I even made a lipstick sample, both shimmer and mat.

The people in the production department were surprised to see how beautiful the lipstick was. Of course, they had to come up with a unique container but even if this lipstick was in a nylon, people would still buy it because of how wonderfully it was made.

I was rounding up with the lipstick when Tin Foley came to me.

"Ma'am it's time for the press conference".

She said and I stood up to leave. On my way out, I heard people speaking.

"Wow, here I was thinking she walked her way here but this lipstick proved me wrong".

"I know right. She made it look so different. It's really beautiful".

"For sure, she is the boss for a reason".

We were finally at the venue for the press conference.

"The press conference will begin now".

Tin Foley said as soon as I sat down.

"Hello, I am Nadia Coleman, the president of Gallery".

I said and as soon as I was done, I heard a ridiculous question.

"Rumors have it that you are the new bride for the chairman of the O'Brien's company. Is that true"?
