My girlfriend

Derrick noticed the slight change in his brother's face and decided to ask.

"Do you know her"

"Hnn".

That was all Jason said before he stood up, ready to leave. Derrick just kept on following his brother as he figured that his brother was probably going to the company he had just recently acquired. When they were on their way, Derrick couldn't hold in his curiosity so he decided to ask.

"How do you know her? Huh? Huh? Won't you tell me how you got to know her"?

Throughout the ride, Jason kept operating his phone which made Derrick wonder what was so important that he was so focused on.

It took about fifteen minutes but they were finally there. When they got there, there was a very cold aura coming from Jason. With the way he looked, Derrick could already tell that his brother definitely didn't like this Gloria White.

They entered the company, went straight to the meeting room, and there she was, sitting with her legs crossed and a cup of coffee close to her lips. As soon as Gloria heard the door open, she turned to see who it was but she turned back without a care in the world as she kept taking sips from her coffee.

Jason didn't care about her rude attitude and just went ahead to sit down making Derrick do the same.

Jason said nothing and waited for her to speak. If it was the same Gloria White that he was familiar with, this was definitely not going to take long.

And just as he predicted, she didn't even wait for five minutes before she began to speak.

"Well, I see that you have gotten someone to speak on your behalf. Either way, I am still not selling my property so get out".

She said the last part a bit too loud which irritated Jason to a fault.

"You will have to take that back".

Jason said with no expression at all on his face but funny enough, the lady began laughing like a maniac.

"Ha... Ha... Hahahaha"

She kept laughing till she had her fill.

"Wait a minute, are you... Jason? Like Jason O'Brien"?

She asked like it just dawned on her but Jason did not bother answering her.

"You... You... What... What is he doing here"?

She asked her secretary the last part in a pretty loud whisper. Jason carefully looked at her hand which was placed on the table and noticed that she was already very nervous.

'She is still the same'.

He thought to himself as he waited to see the next thing she'd do.

'What's going on? What do I do? This is Jason, no matter how hard I try, this is a lost case'.

She thought to herself. She knew she wouldn't be able to get out of this and the most annoying part is that she had already been extremely rude to him from the beginning.

"Ehm, Mr O'Brien? I think this is a misunderstanding".

She said and by now, her voice was already shaking. This was a man who sent her to jail just because of a flimsy misunderstanding, what would happen if he found out she was trying to defraud his brother or whoever the other man was?

Jason still said nothing and just kept looking at her. She swallowed hard as she knew she was in for it. Suddenly, the lady who was sitting down gracefully and with so much elegance was now kneeling and begging.

"Forgive me, I just really needed the money and I didn't want to lose the building that's why I sold it to him and pretended like I didn't".

In a few seconds, she had spilled out her own dirty secret. Gloria White was the former owner of New Worlds Entertainment but after she went to jail, her reputation crumbled and so did her company which is why she eagerly wanted to sell it. The only thing is, she didn't want to sell it so she could use the money well, she wanted to sell it and keep the company so that she could start building her company back from the ground.

Jason knew this was a done case but he couldn't blame his brother for not knowing she was the owner as she could not be seen on any search engines.

When they were done, it was already a bit late. Jason remembered that Nadia wasn't able to have lunch earlier today which made him feel really bad. He called Miguel and asked him to take Nadia home as he wouldn't be going back to the office.

He and Derrick left knowing fully well that Gloria wouldn't be a problem anymore and when they got out of the company, they parted ways. Derrick left to go and continue preparing for the grand opening of his newly acquired company, while Jason decided to go straight home. Besides, he knew he had unfinished business.

A smile could be seen on Jason's face as he thought of the unfinished business he had. The driver looked at him through the rearview a little bit surprised. His boss wasn't just smiling a little, he smiled for a pretty long time.

When I was told to go home, I was shocked and I bit upset that he left without telling me but I decided not to make a big fuss about that. When I got home, I stylishly asked one of the maids about Jason but they said he wasn't back yet. Which means he probably left for something very important.

I was about to go upstairs when someone blocked me by the stairs. Because the person was on the higher side of the stairs, I had to look up to see the person and then, I realized it was Kay, the young boy who said he was Jason's son. I was smiling when I suddenly heard his question.

"Who are you"?

He asked with a cold face that reminded me of Jason.

"Huh"?

I asked but he just kept looking at me weirdly. I was feeling a bit uncomfortable when I heard him speak again.

"Are you really dating my dad"?

He asked and then I smiled weirdly but before I could answer, someone from behind me did.

"Yes".

I turned, knowing fully well that it was Jason. He came close and held me by the waist.

"She is my girlfriend".
