Can you do it?

"Are you nervous"?

"Huh? Nervous about what"?

I asked as I wasn't too sure.

"My grandfather wants to go out with you. Will you be okay"?

I smiled nervously and nodded.

"Mnn, I'll be fine. I mean, it's not like he's going to take me to a secret bush and shoot me to death".

I said but after a while, I turned to look at him since he didn't give me any answer and I didn't hear him say anything.

When I turned to look at him, I noticed he was back to reading his documents.

"Why aren't you saying anything"?

I asked and he looked at me.

"That's because you might be right".

He said and I unintentionally swallowed.

"Are you saying you know I might be killed and you are okay with it"?

Jason looked at Nadia and as he could not hold himself anymore, he began laughing really hard.

"Don't worry, my grandfather is not one to pretend like he likes you when he doesn't".

I wasn't still convinced so he continued.

"If he likes you, you'll know and as far as I'm concerned, you have nothing to worry about".

I didn't know if it was true but because it was Jason who said it, I decided to believe.

It was soon evening and I was told to come downstairs as Grandpa O'Brien was already waiting for me.

I rushed down since I was already dressed and bowed.

"I apologize for being late sir".

I said with my head still bowed. He looked quite angry but I was hoping it was just my imagination.

"Let's get going".

He said and began walking out. I didn't hesitate and followed suit.

It took about thirty minutes for us to get to wherever it was he wanted us to get to. When we finally got there, it was a pretty small shop. It looked small but had a very enticing appearance. I was drawn by the exterior design but when we got inside, it was even more mesmerizing.

It looked much bigger on the inside than on the outside and the decor was everything.

It was painted milkish-like, but it had light shining on it so it made it look like it had gold sprinkled all over it.

There were so many mannequins that were adorned with beautiful dresses and accessories. Wristwatches could be seen rolling where they were placed. This place was nothing less than sophisticated.

I kept staring when a beautiful woman who looked like she was in her mid-forties walked out smiling as she approached Grandpa. She looked like she was literally shining. She looked so bright that I had to close my eyes a little.

When she came closer, I got a closer look at her and I must confess, I've never been this mesmerized by a woman's beauty before. I didn't know if it was the pieces of jewelry that silently announced themselves, or the beautiful yellow dress she was putting on, or the calm yes obviously beautiful makeup she had on her face. Whatever it was, I knew she was the kind of beauty that I wanted to be.

"Look who we have here, Chairman O'Brien".

She said and shook Grandpa.

"Hello Kate, as usual, whenever I come here, I'm always very impressed".

He said as he shook her back. I saw her smile as he complimented her.

"Well, what can I say? You've been a big part of my achievement".

She said and then led him inside to sit down. We went to her office and Grandpa O'Brien sat on the head couch while myself and Mrs Kate sat on the subordinates.

"So, what brings you here"?

She asked while one of her workers offered us tea.

"I need to see how good my granddaughter-in-law is. It is a matter of emergency as she won't be here for long so I brought her to you first".

He said not wasting any time before going right to the point. Mrs Kate nodded her head, showing that she understood what he was trying to say but then, she asked another question.

"What exactly do you want her to show you"?

She asked and Grandpa said something that made me look at him in shock.

"Everything".

Grandpa O'Brien said and both Kate and Nadia looked at him a bit surprised. Kate wasn't sure he knew what he was talking about as that would imply her showing him everything within this short period of time.

"This evening"?

He nodded.

"Mnn. Why? Would that be a problem"?

Kate shook her head as she tried to clear the misunderstanding.

"That's not what I mean. I just feel there would be a lot to show you in such a short time. You do know that we do a lot of things here".

She said but Grandpa didn't budge at all.

"Like I told you, she is my granddaughter-in-law. I believe she can do it. And if she can't, there will be no harm in learning".

He said as though he was trying to say 'and that's final'.

We stayed in her office for about five more minutes before she led us out. When we got out of the office, I got a bit curious as to where she produced her things as this only looked like a boutique, but soon enough, I was surprised once again.

She led us to a room at the back of the boutique and in that room, I could see people packaging goods. Then she led us to a side by the room and I saw a stairs that led us underground. I was honestly not expecting there to be space underground and when we got down, it looked way bigger than the boutique upstairs.

"Well, here we are. What would you like to try first"?

She asked looking at me but right now, I was very nervous. This place looked so intimidating. I mean, where I used to work was nothing compared to this and I was always so intimidated. So it was only normal for me to be a bit scared.

"Can you do it"?

She asked and I turned to look at her. To be honest, I could see people looking at me like they knew I wouldn't be able to do anything.

Deep down, I wanted to prove all these eyes wrong and I knew I could do it but I was suddenly losing the confidence to prove them wrong.
