Boredom

"I'm so bored!" I lay in bed texting a friend about my dilemma. All she could do was laugh.

"What do you think your gonna be? All you do is stay home all day reading books and writing. Your practically a vampire."

"I am not. I just don't like people and people are outside my house. If I left I may have to talk to someone. Ugh!"

"Hahaha seriously ? You have got to be kidding. You live in one of the coolest towns around. Go out and live a little."

"That doesn't sound like a good idea. The only places around here are clubs."

"That's not true. Isn't there a cool spot near you that plays live music?"

"Yeah. It's a bar though Lexi. I don't want to go there."

"It's not a bar! Haha its a restaurant that serves drinks. Look if you don't have to be 21 to go I think your fine lol girl sometimes you are just too Christian."

"Hahaha ok ok I guess your right. Huhhh I guesss I'll go check it out. This had better be fun or you owe me a redbox movie.

"Deal. Now go out and have fun. Oh and wear something nice lol like maybe a little showy."

"Not happening lol you know me."

"Yes yes I do lol ok at least try and have some fun. Talk to you soon Lilly!"

Ohhh how did that just happen. I started my day thinking I would just stay home and read like usual and somehow ended up getting talked into going to a place full of people. I'm not a people person so this is a stretch for me. I sit and think about what I want to wear. Showy is so not me so I grabbed a dark red tee and some black capris. I decide to wear a long sleeved red sweater over it. This is my favorite outfit and I wear pretty much everywhere. It literally shows nothing but my calves and that is so me. I'm a Christian and I believe in modest clothes. I don't wear skimpy clothes and I never thought I would be more thankful of doing so then tonight cause if I had worn anything else I would have missed out on one of the greatest things to ever happen in my life.

"Conner, where are you going? Aren't you staying here hot stuff?"

Conner looks at the girl talking to him. Inside he couldn't help but laugh at her weak attempt to get him to stay with her.  He quickly walks out of the room buttoning his shirt as he goes. Heading outside and down the street he hurries to his car before she has time to follow him. He jumps in and takes off before she can even come to the door.

Laughing he heads towards a local coffee shop for a few minutes, just enough time to make sure she didn't turn into a crazy stalker lady. He grabs something to drink and stays for a bit just people watching.

Soon however he finished his drink and thought he had waited long enough to poke his head back out into the world. Mainly he was just hoping to find someone else to finish his night with. Back into the car he drives around for a bit until he sees a small club. Going inside he finds some biker guys drinking beer alone at the end of the bar. He walks around for a bit seeing if anyone else was there before leaving once more. 'How hard can it be to find a decent place with some actual people inside?'

He soon goes by a place full of cars. He can hear music playing inside and the smell of something cooking. Conner decides to head inside and just check the place out.  Walking in he finds it full of people, most of them eating drinking or dancing and just having a good time. He leans against the wall watching everyone as they dance. His eyes skimming over the girls in skimpy clothes dancing for attention.

'These girls are practically begging me to hit on them'  looking around the room once more he sighs. He plays with his keys for a moment before looking at the door thinking he better leave soon and try again. And that's when he saw her. Walking in slowly and shyly he could tell immediately she did not come to places like this often. She was dressed in a red sweater and capris. Every inch of her arms and chest was covered and only her calves barely showing. He smiled. 'She looks like she's wearing something for old ladies. Well this might be a challenge then'

I regretted coming the second I walked through the door. The place was full of people and everyone was talking or dancing. True everyone seemed to be having a good time but still not my cup of tea. The place was super crowded and I kinda just stood there dumbstruck. I had no clue what to do or where to go. I did know I was hungry however but I had no idea where to go to actually get the food. Country music was playing and it was pretty loud. I could barely hear myself think, and I still don't know how anyone could talk in that place or better yet hear each other.

I stood near the doorway for a few moments debating whether or not to leave. I was overwhelmed and east sure if I even wanted to be here. I decided to move a bit more away from the door where people we're constantly walking in and out from, and instead went to stand by the wall.

As the girl walked farther in Conner quickly saw that she was actually pretty. She looked young, probably a student in town but the main thing that caught his eye was she had an innocent look to her. Her clothes and her hair weren't showy and he didn't think she was wearing much if any makeup. Yet even without all of that she still seemed beautiful in her own way. Conner was surprised when she walked up closer to him. That's when he noticed she looked lost as though she didn't know where to go or what to do. He smiled as he thought of possibly taking her home for the night. She stopped not far away from him and he didn't even think she had even so much as seen him yet standing there. "Hey what's up?"

Walking farther down the wall trying to decide I heard a voice speaking to me. I turned and saw a young man standing by the wall. He was about the same height as me, not surprising since I'm tall. He was stockier with muscled arms. He looked at me with eyes filled with curiosity. I don't even know how or why but I actually talked to him. "Oh nothing much. Bored to death really just looking for something to do."
