No Control

The boy looked around to see the fox had disappeared before turning to the man that is his brother in this world.

"Yes?"

"I need to ask if you are feeling better," Ajax asked, sitting on the bed.

"I am feeling better. Don't even remember a thing."

"That is a relief." He said, smiling softly at him. "I was so worried that you would be hurt because of me."

"Why? Don't I hurt you a lot too?" The words came out of his mouth before he could stop them.

Ajax looked at him, slightly startled before he regained his composure. "You don't hurt me, brother. I am the one that hurts myself."

"But, I-"

"You should rest up. Today was your first day of school but I will allow you to sleep the entire day." He said, standing up.

"And training?" The boy asked, grabbing his brother's sleeve though he did not mean to.

"Tomorrow." He answered before walking to the door and closing it behind him.

Ace was left looking at his hands in wonder.

What was that just now? My body and voice moved on their own and I couldn't stop myself.

Is it because I was implanted into the system now?

He frowned slightly, biting at his fingernail as he thought.

I need to write down everything I know first. He jumped out of his bed and walked to the table, picking up a pen and paper, he began to write down all the incidents he remembered.

This is hard because I am on the other side of the game when I was playing it. I also didn't pay too much attention to the main lead.

Why is all the decision I made suddenly coming back to bite me in the ass? Am I that bad at making decisions?

I am tired. I want to sleep.

He got out of his bed and walk to the table, taking the pen that seems more of a quilt than a pen and also a paper.

The paper was in a drawer that he had to open to get out.

What do I know about this? He thought. When does the story begin again?

According to the game, the story begins when the person they are playing as enters the school for the first time.

The character they played is a transfer student and is either male or female depending on the person's choice. They are never given a hint of what the character they play as looks like as it is in a first-person perspective.

"Will this new student still appear? How will they look like?" he thought, trying to bite the feathered pen but spat it out as it began to tickle his mouth.

I am supposed to be changing this right? So should I be acting the way he did?

The first person you meet is the student council vice president. One by one, they start to get intrigued by this ... person. Not the president.

Then you meet the others one by one. The last one you meet is the President. Who is me. So ... what am I supposed to do?

He looked at his hands and sighed.

Judging by what just happened, it would seem that we do not have too much control over our bodies when we are with other people.

I also don't know just how many people are aware that this is not how they are supposed to be acting besides me. I can't trust that ... thing either.

But ... I can do something first, right. Maybe if I met the transfer student first. Maybe I can do something about that.

Determined, he stood up and nodded. Then, that is what I will be doing.

He looked at the paper in front of him and walked to the bathroom to get ready for bed. Pausing in front of the mirror, he couldn't help but stare at his face.

"I do not look bad at all though." he chuckled, touching his hair and looking at his eyes. Blond hair and green doe-like eyes. "But I look too ... innocent."

Hmmmmm.

"Hey. Game?" He called out loud and the fox appeared.

"I have a name, you know." The fox said, rolling his eyes.

"You never introduced yourself, how was I supposed to know." He retorted back.

"Fine. Let me introduce myself properly." The fox flew to his eye length and smile at him. "Hello, I am Cleo. Your personal guide in this system."

"Cleo?"

"Yup." It said, smiling brightly. "And you are Ace Reguiled, the fourth prince in line for the throne of the Kingdom Fewo. Also the Student Council President of the school for royals and nobles, Kenj."

"So I do not need to introduce myself." He said, rolling his eyes. "I need to ask you something."

"What is it?"

"My hair." he pointed to the golden locks on his head.

"Yes? They are a lovely colour, aren't they?"

"I don't like them," he said, looking in the mirror. "I want to change the colour."

"Why don't you just colour it then?" Cleo asked, tilting its head to the side.

"There must be a chance that the system will try to revert it back to the same colour if I tried to colour it."

"So, what do you want me to do?" Cleo asked, squinting its eyes.

He turned to the fox as a smile came on his face, "I am part of this system now, yes?"

"Yes?"

"Reprogram my hair colour then," he said, grinning. "You can do that right? After all, you all are the ones that want me to change this ... game."

"I will try to." it said, "But it will be hard to because I have to be undetected."

"How long will you take?"

"Probably the entire night." The fox said, landing on the ivory basin.

"Alright," he said, nodding his head. "Then you do that. If I am right about this, the transfer student would have come today. And I am going to meet them tomorrow."

"I am going to treat this more like an RPG or MMORPG than a Dating Sims game. Is there a way I can ... collect some things? Like side quests?"

"You are supposed to be the perfect student council president." The fox laughed. "Though no one has asked me about this before."

"So can I?"

"I will see what I can try to reprogram to make it more fun for you." The fox said, chuckling. Then it flew up to his face, studying it.

"You are really smart, aren't you?"

"I wouldn't say smart." He shrugged. "But I will take the compliment."

"Hey, what would you say about having a side quest right now?" The fox's eyes gleamed as it looked at him.

"What is it about?" He asked, sceptical.

"It will just be something simple." The fox jumped and turned into a screen.

In the screen could be seen a dialogue box with the options of yes or no.

'Quest: Kill three hundred Mirrored.'

"Mirrored?" He asked, looking at it. "What is that?"

"Right. It is not shown in the game because that is not what they focused on." The fox spoke though it did not turn back. "The mirrored are these creatures."

The image changed and showed an almost cat-like creature standing on its hind legs with a second head sticking out from the back of its head.

"Damn." He said, looking at it. "It is ugly."

"I think it serves its purpose." the fox interjected. "It is called the mirrored one because it can imitate any person it killed. Taking the form of that person."

"I have to kill three hundred of these?" he asked, staring at the image. "I am the most unathletic person I know. And I know a lot of unathletic people."

"You are the main lead."

"So nothing will happen to me?" he asked, a little hopeful.

"No, you will die. And if you die, you die. Someone else will just take this body." Cleo said nonchalantly.

"So that is what happened to them." he sighed. "But what about when the game ends, like in the ... game."

"It will restart from the beginning. You can see why we are sick of this situation we are in." The fox chuckled. "Not, are you going to accept this or not?"

"I want to. But I don't think I will," he said, shrugging. "I do not have that kind of capability."

"It could be a way for you to know how to control your magic properly."

"Oh right. I have that, don't I?"

"Yup. You wished that you were in a fantasy fighting game, right? If you succeed here then you would get that wish realised. Don't you want to do that?"

"That is very tempting. But if I died here, then what will that do for me?"

"I will help you. Come on, what do you say?"

Ace thought for a second, contemplating his options then sighing.

"Fine. I don't want to seem like I don't have any skills that can help me in the future. Besides, I am going to have to fight later on, right?"

"Yup." it nodded. "So better to prepare for now."

"Fine. I will do it. Better to go trying than looking like a wimp."

"Wonderful. Now go bathe. I will call you after you are done. You need all the scent off you so be sure to scrub properly." With that, it disappeared and Ace was left alone in the bathroom.

"Let's just get this over with." He said, taking his clothes off and stared in the full body mirror, eyes widening. "Oh, that is a massive d-"
