Vira glanced at her husband, who was fast asleep on the sofa. She felt terrible for making Vino spend so much money on her clothes.
"There has never been someone who cared so much about me. Even though your words are harsh, your actions touch me." A slight, sincere smile appeared on her lips.
This was the first time Vira had ever felt this way. She had gone through a difficult childhood, like a Cinderella who had to obey her aunt and cousin. Lisa had set her up with this marriage, and she couldn't accept it happily. But now, as she looked at Vino's calm face while he slept, she felt grateful. This man was very handsome—his sharp nose, smooth skin, and jet-black hair. When he slept like this, he looked so cute.
Vira squatted in front of him. She hugged her folded legs and focused on the details of her husband's face, which looked so calm, like an innocent little angel.
"Ah, if you could speak well and sweetly to women, surely every woman would fall in love with you," Vira whispered with a slight smile. Her eyes sparkled.
Hesitating, she raised her hand.
No. She pulled her hand back. She had intended to wipe the hair from Vino's forehead, but stopped herself.
Vira tidied up the shopping bags and put them in the cupboard. As she moved away from her spot, she stretched her muscles. She then took the blanket that covered her husband's body.
"Is he okay sleeping on the sofa?" she asked herself.
She felt guilty again. She didn't want her husband to sleep on the couch, especially in such an uncomfortable position. Vira thought that he wasn't someone who would normally sleep anywhere.
She decided to wake him. Carefully and slowly, she extended her fingers and lightly tapped Vino's wrist.
Not long after, Vino woke up.
"Sorry to wake you up. It looks like you're uncomfortable sleeping like this," Vira whispered.
Vino raised his head and saw his wife smiling softly at him, her voice barely above a whisper.
"What time is it now?" he asked.
"It's still three in the morning," Vira answered calmly.
"Oh," Vino replied briefly.
He sat up, resisting sleep, and climbed into the bed.
Slam!
He collapsed onto the bed, lying face down on the mattress.
Within moments, Vino was fast asleep again, occupying the entire bed.
Now it was Vira's turn to be confused, but it didn't last long.
She was used to living a hard life, one of poverty and deprivation. She had once slept in a warehouse surrounded by used goods, dust, and cockroaches. She had even been locked in a chicken coop for a small mistake. She'd slept on a porch in the rain because she didn't want to give Lisa her school assignment book.
"Ah, isn't this sofa so soft and comfortable!" Vira said as she sat down, patting the surface a few times to feel the softness.
"I'm afraid I'll sleep too long because it's too comfortable," she mused, then grabbed the blanket she had previously given to Vino.
The first night of their marriage wasn't so bad after all!
Vira placed her hands beneath her face and smiled before drifting off to sleep.
A few minutes later, Vira was fast asleep, but Vino shifted in his sleep, as if searching for a more comfortable position.
He rubbed his face with his hand, one eye peeking out. He wasn't sleeping soundly.
Vino opened his eyes slowly, sat up, and looked at the sleeping Vira.
"I thought she would try something like the other girls," Vino whispered. A blush colored his face as he gazed at her.
He'd seen how women acted when they discovered his wealth, money, and high social status. They always tried to capture his heart and attention. Vino had even expected that Vira might be one of those women.
He thought Vira might set him up tonight.
But she had fallen asleep on the sofa, curled up, and nothing had happened between them.
Vino laughed at his own thoughts and leaned back against the bed. Realizing it had just been his imagination, he felt embarrassed.
"But I can't let my guard down. There are plenty of strategies women play. They can pretend to be innocent just to get what they want," Vino muttered to himself, a slight grin forming on his face.
He looked at Vira's peaceful face, which still looked beautiful. She seemed so innocent.
"Is there a sincere and kind woman in this world? One who doesn't care about wealth or status? I'm sure she's a rare gem," Vino's voice lowered.
His gaze remained on Vira's sleeping face.
The two of them fell asleep, facing each other, from a distance.

Brett!!
Vino's phone vibrated on the table in front of Vira, waking her up. She saw an incoming call from her husband's cell phone but didn't dare wake him as he was still fast asleep.
The sunlight was already warm when Vira glanced at the clock. It was seven in the morning.
Ring!
The sound of the hotel room bell.
Vira wiped her face, which still looked sleepy, and fixed her wrinkled clothes from sleeping on the sofa. She was still wearing Vino's shirt.
She got up from the sofa and walked toward the door. Slowly, she opened the door.
A man in a formal suit, complete with a black and white striped tie, stood at the doorway.
He bowed politely, avoiding eye contact with Vira.
"Sorry to disturb you, young lady. I've tried calling the young master several times, but he didn't pick up."
Vira looked confused, glancing toward the room where her husband was still fast asleep. Should she wake him up?
"I'm sorry to disturb your morning, young lady. I must speak with the young master right now," the man said, his voice more urgent.
"Ah, yes," Vira replied, still confused. "Let me wake him first."
"Yes, please!" The man bowed his head again.
"Okay, then, please wait a moment while I wake him up." Vira moved to go back inside the room.
Tap!
Just as Vira turned around, a hand caught her shoulder.
It was none other than her husband: Vino, the young master.
"Ah, honey, what are you doing?" Vino asked, his head resting indulgently on Vira's shoulder.
Vira, of course, tried to pull away. Was her husband delirious?
"Why did you run away from me?" Vino said, making his voice sound as cute and indulgent as possible, sending shivers down Vira's spine.
"Ah, Vino... umm... someone is looking for you..." Vira whispered, feeling embarrassed as she tried to push Vino's head off her shoulder.
The more Vira tried to avoid his head, the more stubbornly he pressed it against her shoulder.
Vira looked at the guest with a blush on her face. "Sorry, I think he's still sleepy. Looks like he's delirious," she said with an embarrassed smile.
"Young master, I was ordered by the great master to meet with you."
"Hah!" Vino lifted his head from Vira's shoulder, widening his eyes as he realized who was standing in front of him.
"Assistant Han!" he said, surprised.
The man nodded slightly.
"Sorry to disturb you, young master..."
Vino waved his hand. "It's fine, no problem. You know, every newlywed needs their rest," he said with a happy grin, winking at his wife.
"CK!" Vira was shocked. "What's wrong with Vino?"
"Tell my father that I'm very happy after getting married and went through our first night. You saw how tired we are, right?" Vino said, hugging his wife from behind.
"Ah, you need to take a picture. My wife and I look great together!" Vino took the phone from Assistant Han.
He hugged Vira tightly and made the widest smile.
Vira was stunned as the man, named Han, followed Vino's request. He aimed the phone's camera at them.
"My baby, don't be embarrassed... let's show your best smile," Vino whispered in Vira's ear, his voice a little threatening.
"Oh my, my husband is crazy."
