Zamian hadn't expected that from Mira; no one interrupted the almighty Zamian, after all. But her warning gaze surprised him, catching him off guard. What was that about? he thought, but his musings were cut short by Little Zami's voice.
"Reawwy? Oh, Mummy, we almost have the same name!" Zami exclaimed, her wide eyes darting eagerly between Mira and Zamian, her curiosity uncontained.
Mira smiled warmly at her daughter. "Yes, baby." Zami's mouth formed an excited "wow" as the delivery lady finished packaging the cake, holding the bag up with a proud smile.
"We'd be happy to help you drop the bag in the car. It seems we made a mistake, and we hope our compensation is satisfactory," the lady said, bowing respectfully. Her male colleague, dressed in the same company uniform, also bowed, avoiding eye contact with Zamian as he addressed Mira. No one needed to tell Mira that Zamian had something to do with this sudden change in attitude.
