Chapter 14 :- Victoria Faith Wild (P.O.V)

I looked into his eyes silently because I don't know what to say. To say I was shocked could be an understatement, he had me the moment I had set my eyes on him. But, I can't accept him in my life, because it has too much baggage and I don't want that a guy like Robert to mend my heart and take the baggage away. No, he deserves a normal girl with a normal life, not someone like me.

I sighed and said, " Look, Robert, it's not that you are a bad person, you amazing, handsome, caring, you are perfect. You deserve someone far better than me. I have a lot of baggage which you don't deserve it in your life. So, you have to let me go. Please, go get someone more beautiful than me. Please." I pleaded him but, Robert being Robert he didn't listen to me.

"What baggage baby girl. I am sure I can protect you, take care of you and maybe if this worked even love you in future. Let's try this. Please." He pleaded.

I tried to stand-up from his lap but, he was having none. He didn't budge even one inch and I again sighed and looked at him, "Please, Robert understand me. I have many problems already in my life. I can't put you through all of that, please. You are too precious for me to ruin you because of my problems."

I had a secret who no one knows and because of that, I can't let him in. I can't, he didn't deserve any of this and I don't want to drag him in this mess. He looked at me with all seriousness and said, "You will break your promise? You will leave me as everyone leaves me. Right?"

My heart stopped beating by just looking at him. The vulnerability, the rawness, sadness, pain all emotions were flowing in his eyes. I suddenly felt like I can't breathe, I can't break his heart. I hugged him tightly and said, "No, baby. I can't ever leave you and go anywhere. I can't and I won't break my promise."

I left tears on my shoulder and I knew instantly that he was crying. I hugged him more tightly. "Then, don't go. Stay here with me. Whatever problems are there we will fight together. I promise, please. Don't leave me."

"Shh... hey I am not going anywhere. Okay. I am here see, in your arms right?" He nodded like a child and said, "Promise? You won't leave me like everyone. You will stay with me right?"

It pained me to see him like this. But, I can't break his heart, but I can't let me in too. I was confused as what to do. At that time, I decided whatever happens in future I will protect him. I will fight for him.

"Promise, darling. I won't go anywhere." He kissed my neck again and again. I shivered because it was causing goosebump to arise all over my body. Right at the moment, my phone buzzed beside us. I slowly picked it up and my heart for the second time today stopped beating. But, this time the feeling was not good, it was fear which led to stop my heart from beating, because my father was calling.

Robert must have felt it because he peeled us away and brought my face in his hands and slowly stroked his thumb on my cheeks and asked me, "Hey, baby, are you okay?" That brought me out the trance and I immediately said, "Yes. Yes, I am okay. Don't worry." He looked at with uncertainty like he didn't believe me but, didn't say anything else.

I quickly picked up the call and said, "Hello."

"Veronica. I want in the house within 10 minutes, it's important. Don't make me wait because you know what happens when you make me wait. Am I clear?"

"Yes. I will be there." With that, he hung up. I sighed and then looked at Robert, "I have to go." I caressed his cheeks and said. "No. Please, wait for a few more minutes. I am not yet ready to leave you." He replied with a pout.

I smiled at him and said, " We will meet tomorrow baby." I don't know what we are but I can't seem to just give up on him just yet. "Yaa.. at least give me my goodbye kiss." He said with such an adorable smile that I gave in. I pulled him close and kissed him like there is no tomorrow. His lips were soft as usual and I smiled against his lips. His hands which were on my waist started travelling all over my body. My hands went from his shoulders to his soft silk hair. He nibbled my bottom lips as if asking for entrance, I challenged him by not opening my lips. He got angry and deepened the kiss, by pulling me close to him. His hands went from waist to my ass and he squeezed it tightly making me gasp which he used to his advantage and entered my mouth.
