First game with Kovac

Today will be our first official game with Kovac as our head coach.

He is reading the starting squad in front of us right now.

Not gonna lie. I feel pretty nervous, even though he told me I would start. 

"Let's first start with the goalkeeper. The main goalkeeper would be you Manuel(Neuer). The reserve one will be Sven(Ulreich). For the rest. We will be playing in a 3-5-2. With one shadow striker, meaning that it could go as a 3-5-1-1.

The three defenders will be Alaba, Hummels, and Süle. 

The left winger position will go to Frank(Ribery) and the right wing to Arjen(Robben).

The two central midfielders will be Thiago and Joshua(Kimmich).

The offensive midfielder will be our youngest position on the field with Maximilian(MC).

The shadow striker will be played by Thomas(Müller) and the striker up front will be Lewandowski.", with a smile Kovac told us his starting list. 

I was relieved as I was still in the starting eleven.

And yes I will play as an offensive Midfielder. The reason? James seemed to be called back to Real and they canceled the loan. It had disadvantages for us but also advantages. The disadvantage was not having a clear offensive midfielder, the advantage was the money we got as damage for them canceling the loan.

Why do I play as an offensive Midfielder? I have good technical abilities and good passing. I can form a good trio with Thiago and Kimmich. I will show more of my technical side with Thiago and combine with him and on Kimmich's side it will be my passing side. As for Lahm's defensive ability. It will be used if we need to play on defensive counterattack as a central midfielder or a defensive midfielder. Lahm has often played that kind of position in his career.

We started to train our tactics and in a few days, the German Super Cup began.

We were standing in the catacombs of Frankfurts station. It was sold out with 51,500 spectators watching the game live. Frankfurt Fans were famous for being one of the loudest and most violent. You could easily hear them through the walls of the catacomb.

Soon after we walked onto the field and the game soon after began.

You could also interpret our formation as a 3-2-3-1-1. 

But we made tighter spaces. Due to this, it was labeled as a 3-5-2.

The game soon began. It was one-sided. 

Frankfurt which lost its coach was playing very badly. They haven't had much success without Kovach and they began playing like that after losing Kovac again.

We dominated the game with much possession. Our game continued to be more of possession football like our time with Guardiola. Due to this, we were better able to adapt to our new coach. I also was used to possession football as we played it for quite some time in the youth team. 

Having possession we often tried to find our way through tight spaces. This was easy to do against Frankfurt as they also tried to play very offensively. This was due to their Kovac period. They played in a 3-4-3. The wingers should probably retract after getting attacked but they didn't really do that. Due to this, we had light play. We would easily pass our way through their wings or their center if they were spread too wide. 

They were a mess.

It didn't take long and I assisted Lewandovski with a through pass through their middle as they were way too widespread. Only one of the defenders could keep up with him. He tried to pressure Lewandowski with his body, but Lewandowski wasn't really pressured and shot the ball into the goal of Frankfurt. To be honest. The shot wasn't too good and the goalkeeper could have saved it if he was in good form. 

After that it was easy. 

Robben passed to me. I passed the ball with my backheel to Thiago, who made a chip to Robben, who started running again. 

I ran into the position of a striker with Lewandowski and Müller but stopped after running to the front of the penalty area.

Robben cut in and shot. The shot wasn't as perfect as usual and their keeper Rönnow saved it. He accidentally passed the ball to Müller who was sitting a bit behind the goalpost. Müller couldn't shoot from this angle as a defender was blocking the way.

I beckoned to Müller and he passed. I stood near the penalty point now and easily shot the ball into the goal.

Now it was 2-0 in the 31st minute. 

In the rest of half-time, nothing special but a few shots were made. None of these hit the goal dangerously.

In the second half, Coman and Gnabry came on. They seemed not to loan out Gnabry this season as in my past life. These were the first obvious signs of me being in this world. James(Rodriguez) and Serge(Gnabry). 

These two were the new replacements for Robben and Ribery, who will leave Bayern at the end of this season. They will play more and more and even start often as they should adapt for the upcoming season.

These two were both very fast and the kind of technical players. 

With these two we had an easier time penetrating their wings.

After I distributed a ball to the outer wing trying a chip over their defense and Gnabry caught the ball he went in for a 1v1 against the goalkeeper. The goalkeeper had no chance and Gnabry shot the 3-0.

Now Frankfurt didn't want to lose too badly and just switched to a 5-2-2-1.

Even tho there were still obvious gaps in their defense I often used to send balls to Gnabry and Coman. I even used these myself often, playing a few elasticos or even a rainbow flick.

It was light getting by them with my speed or with a few tricks.

In the end, I shot another goal by just making a counterattack after their just-second corner kick. I caught the ball and just outran everyone. They didn't really put up much of a defense. They played like they lost their soul.

In the end, we won 6-0 with me shooting 2 goals and assisting 3. The fifth goal wasn't a part of my scorer points but I introduced it. 

It seemed like I was playing crazy, but these were only the stats. I had an easy time making these assists and the goals.

I think of putting Summer of Surviving Summer on as a possible female lead as it would fit into the story with Bayern playing against Chicago Fire soon. Of course, in this universe, they will be playing against New York instead for a reason. 

The reason being. 

Salihamidzic wants to end his career as a sporting director as he has got an offer as a coach from a football club. Due to this at the end of this season, Bayern wants to get a new sporting director. They chose Freund from RB Salzburg and contacted Salzburg to negotiate. They made a series of things Bayern needed to do. Like hosting a friendly with RB New York to expand their influence onto America and paying them a bit of money.

Having Freund, who likes to get talented people to play will make Bayern more youthful meaning that I could choose some young talents to go to Bayern like Bellingham. Should I do that or only make some small changes to the story?
