TIME SKIP TO AFTER SCHOOL
It didn't take long for the dean of students to find out we skipped class. We had detention, it was inevitable. For the first time ever, I didn't mind. I walked to detention with Dae Hyun, who was still trying to tackle me for saying he snores. If only he knew that part of the joke was reality.
Dae Hyun and I ran and laughed as he caught up to me. A part of me was glad we had detention together so I could thank him for helping me out. No one in the crowd stopped to help me and it brought up memories of high school in America. We sit down at out detention desks and begin writing "I will never skip class again." 100 times per instructions from the teacher supervising us. We were the only kids in detention and the teacher frequently stepped away to take phone calls.
As I am about to reach out to Dae Hyun, Hyerin walks into the class. I drop my hand quickly and go back to writing my punishment.
"Baby! there you are!" Hyerin squeals in a high pitch voice so high that it could break the glass windows.
"Hyerin, uh hows it going." He says and looked part nervous. He side glances at me as she walks over to him.
"Babe, I came to make sure you had company!" She says while standing in front of his desk. She pushes the punishment paper off his desk as she hops on and lets her skirt ride well over her thighs.
"Dae Hyunnie I brought you a present too!" She says as she digs through her purse.
Hyunnie? I let a small giggle escape my lips as she shoots me a death glare.
"Hyerin I don't think-" He is cut short when Hyerin kisses the corner of his lip. He looks shocked and they caught me staring. Hyerin's phone begins to vibrate from her purse. She looks at the screen and says that she'd have to go because she had sudden plans with her girlfriends.
"Baby..." Hyerin leans closer to Dae Hyun's ear and whispers, but just loud enough for me to hear, "Make sure to come to my house after this to get the rest of your present." She gets up and leaves while smirking at me.
"Haru, I can explain what just happ-"
"No, it's fine there isn't any need to. You are still dating Hyerin and didn't trust me enough and that's why you said it was complicated. Your secret is safe with me."
"No its-"
"Well, would you look at the time! Its time to go. I'll be going first! Bye!!" I say in a hurry and leave.
I run through the school halls and dash out the gate. I see our driver and I run into the car.
I sit in the car and watch Dae Hyun get out of the school looking both ways, searching for me, as we drive away.
'It's fine Haru. You two weren't that close anyway. He doesn't need to tell you anything. He is your enemy.'I say to myself in my head. I repeat this to myself like a mantra. I couldn't deny that there was a sting in my gut. I couldn't verify if I was sad, disappointed, or both. I tell myself that when I let my guard down around Dae Hyun, bad things happen.
