The Icy Frost Flame

Xuan Danfeng had just finished her meditation and had only just opened her eyes. She saw that everyone was looking at her curiously. There was a subtle shift in Xuan Danfeng's aura after she had absorbed the Icy Frost Flame as part of her inner cultivation core. Her aura was frostier and her negative energies were purer than before.

Ye Jing chuckled, "She is finally opening her eyes! It has been quite a long wait. Even Xiaofang isn't that slow."

Xiaofang muttered, "It is not the same thing…"

Fan Yuqing looked up at Xuan Danfeng with a smile, "You seem to have gained quite a rewarding amount of insight in the new practice. Should I say a word of congrats to you?"

Xuan Danfeng lit a faint smile, "So how long have I been in meditation?"

Fan Yuqing replied casually, "Not more or less. Exactly three months."

There was a twitch on her countenance as she muttered, "This long?" It looked like a matter of days to her.

Ye Jing helped to lift her up as she laughed, "While waiting for you, I have even advanced my Heaven Eyes to the second positioning. So we didn't really waste any time at all."

Xiaofang nodded and said, "I have managed to gain a more thorough insight of the new Supremacy Level with the extra time so this is a good thing. At the same time, I have also managed to gain a breakthrough to the upper golden celestial level."

Feng Minyue smiled as she looked at Xiaofang, "Now you are only a small realm before you catch up to me."

She was at the initial sacred saint level and should Xiaofang manage another breakthrough then he would be at the initial sacred saint level as her.

Xuan Danfeng looked at everyone with deep appreciation for waiting for her as she said, "Thank you…"

At the same time she had reached into her inner core to caress the Icy Frost Flame. She still need to nurture it and hopefully she would be able to produce a small wisp for Gong Nanyan and her other core protégés so that they would be able to gain more cultivation strength.

She quickly said with her eyes beaming, "Let's go now. Sorry for wasting so much time here. If we don't hurry then we will never reach the top."

Fan Yuqing smiled, "What? You seem to be in a hurry than us."

Xuan Danfeng was high spirited now as she laughed softly, "I am doing this for the rest of you. Don't want to seek the wondrous treasures of the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth? So let's hurry."

Feng Minyue suddenly called out, "Wait Sister Danfeng, you are heading the wrong way."

Xuan Danfeng had paused in her tracks as she turned back to look at them, "Huh?"

Feng Minyue explained, "While you are meditating, we have found the location of the Sword Trial. So we are just waiting for you to finish your meditation before we head to it."

Xuan Danfeng was startled as she muttered, "The Sword Trial?…"

The Sword Trial was one of the many trials in the Empyrean Warrior Labyrinth to be known by the celestials. Xuan Danfeng had actually visited it once in her previous attempt but it was at a terrible cost in lives for the patriarch clans.

The smiles that were on Xuan Danfeng had vanished as she asked, "You are serious in going there? The sword energies there are enough to kill us many times over. There are a total of three levels for the Sword Trial but we have never got past to the second level. The rewards may not be enough for us to take the risk."

Fan Yuqing smiled, "On the third level of the Sword Trial is a Heaven Refining Energy. If we can reach that level then we can use that energy to refine our divine weapons. Won't that be wonderful?"

Ye Jing asked curiously, "Even my immortal sword can be further refined?" Like Xuan Danfeng, Ye Jing had only just ended her meditation and she was not aware of the Sword Trial.

Fan Yuqing nodded, "Not only can your immortal sword be refined further but even Xiaofang's heaven-step immortal sword as well."

Ye Jing immediately replied without hesitation, "What are we waiting for? Let's go now."

Xiaofang muttered, "Are you all sure about this?"

While Xuan Danfeng and Ye Jing were in seclusion, he had inspected the cave where the Sword Trial was at and he could sense how dangerous the cave was.

He was not the one that had discovered the cave. Instead it was Fan Yuqing and Feng Minyue who had discovered it together.

Ye Jing was already heading in a spirited mood to the direction that Feng Minyue had pointed…

Xiaofang called out to her, "Wait Jing'Er…"

Fan Yuqing called out behind him, "Xiaofang, you have better keep a close eye on her…" Her eyes were smiling as she watched Xiaofang panicky went after Ye Jing.

Feng Minyue muttered as she looked at Fan Yuqing and Xuan Danfeng, "Now I seriously think that this may not be such a good idea to enter the Sword Trial at all."

Xuan Danfeng was smiling weakly, "Of course it is never a good idea to challenge beyond one's means."
