Chapter Four

She assumed that Sakuya went out with her boyfriend and thus did not need to bother about her as she went to the dinner with her mother.

The restaurant was not far from their house, it was also one mother often praised. She told her mother to be a bit more reserved. Madara's parents looked younger than she imagined them to be, just looking at the family she could see where he inherited his good looks.

His mother was a great beauty, although older now, but from her facial contours it could be seen in the past she must have been very pretty. Her skin was especially very well maintained.

His father was a very handsome man himself, exuded the maturity that only older men have, steady and wise, due to the vicissitudes of life.

After we finished our introductions and greeted each other, mother hurriedly pulled his mothers hand as they spoke about beauty tips and how to maintain skin. Her own mother was a mature beauty herself, the two kindly exchanged beauty treatments.

She did not indulge the two and instead chatted with his father who sat alone. His father though strict looking, was a very talkative person, more loving, loved to laugh and smiled often with a kind look, in short, much better in comparison to his son.

*Unfortunately while the others engaged in conversation ML was left out

Through their conversation, she learnt both his parents were retired high school teachers. His father taught mathematics and mother taught literature. Her gaze moved to his mother, aside from Sakuya and she had no close female friends and companions, she was troubled on what to say.

*FL has been a social recluse for as long as she could remember. She is also not fond of people, this of course excludes people she acknowledges or holds some aspect of respect for. The number of people she cares for can be counted on a single hand.

She would just smile at her, not saying a word. Although she smiled, in reality only the ends of her lips were slight curved. This was still good as she rarely smiles to strangers, but this would be her future mother in law, so she would need to practise when she returns home.

Madara moved his seat next her, bending over her ear and covertly said "You are not jealous of my mothers beauty, are you?" She picked up a piece of meat soaked in pepper placing it into his bowl as she tilted her head upwards "I'm troubled as to how I should approach her" she said honestly.

He bowed his head and smiled, apparently deliberately faking his affections for her in front of his parents. She didn't say anything.

She raised her head to look around and found the result of his little trick that the three parents were looking at her ambiguously. It seemed his tactic worked and his parents seemed pleased. She politely placed food in her father and mother in-laws bowls with a small smile. She was considerate of the food she chose as old people generally have more health concerns.

Seeing her mother stare at her chopsticks saying nothing she was wondering if she should place some in her bowl, however Madara already did. Placing fresh grilled meat into her bowl speaking to her in a gentle and polite tone, bringing a smile to her face.

Mother immediately brought the grilled beef into her mouth, chewing pieces, nodding her head twice, however not before boasting of her own cooking. She didn't forget to note that she would make do with the stew.

In front of her darling son in law she is so shyly conceit.

"It's certainly not better than your stew and Seira has always praised your cooking skills" Madara obsequiously replied.

Her mothers transiently fresh as a lilies flower sent her an appreciative glance "Seira always talk nonsense" Even though she liked her mothers cooking she didn't remember mentioning it but went along with it.

He praised her cooking, dragging her into the conversation. "Well, Seira and I will enjoy mother's cooking for many years right?" Saying so, he did not forget to look at her lovingly, misleading everyone else.

After their parents talked amongst themselves about their children competing to expose their children's secrets (but of course stories too shameful were not told, nobody was that stupid) and comparing their children's cute sides.

The seating pattern changed as she was now left with Madara. She felt that he was a dangerous man, he seemed like the sort of person who controlled the whole situation, saying two or three sentences that could change the direction of everyone's thoughts. If he was like this at work then she presumed that the BMW he drove was not rented, like her mother first thought.

Madara suddenly approached her ear "Where is your father?" Every time he wanted to talk to her he could only whisper in her ears in order to not let the others hear. It was no wonder they appeared to others like a couple, much to her dislike, she had to accept it.

This manipulative fox, she watched them blankly when he asked her where her father was. She remained silent as she turned her gaze away.

"I have to tell them a reason" he whispered into her ear.

She leaned into his ear, "Divorced, left when I was one years old" In order to complete the act he affectionately patted her head, without a word. She felt somewhat unhappy, as she silently ate paying no heed to the mothers discussing their future.

*I changed the age her father left thats why her hate for her unreliable father runs deep.

Although he had only known the mother and daughter pair for a short period he could see that they were good people, why would her father leave...No wonder they had such a good relationship, having been brought up by a single mother it was undeniable they would be close.

It also explained why she was more mature than most people her age. She probably matured early in order to help make things easier for her mother.
