Those who had left with Prince Wade finally returned to the capital. Kieran's carriage pulled into the driveway, but the horses pulling it belonged to the duke. Hearing the news, Rosina ran out of the chapel. Her eyes brimmed with tears, and her ladies-in-waiting followed after her, surrounding the carriage.
Exhausted, Kieran stepped out as Rosina rushed to greet him.
"Welcome back, Sir Camellius," she said, hugging Lia. "You must be weary from the long journey."
I simply cannot fathom how anybody could think this sweet little boy would molest anyone.
Lia blushed at the princess's warm welcome. Rosina smiled, then walked up to the horse leading the carriage. It stood proudly and nudged her lightly with its head as she approached, a sign of recognition.
"Isn't this Eli, the late duke's horse?" she asked.
"It is. Grand Duke Ihar has requested that Camellius take care of it."
"Sir Camellius?"
"Yes, Your Highness."
