To Nothing

In Shine-B, Heath and Nate encountered Cryo who was with a dozen beasts that saw him as an ally and he wasn't harmed. Cryo had at least half a kilometer behind him of frozen buildings and roads.

"Hey, I remember you, red hoodie. Yeah, the kid that crashed into a building, right?" Cryo said

"I am." Heath replied

"You're Cryo, right?"

"Yeah, I am."

"Can I ask you a question?"

"What?"

"What's your goal?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, why did you join Shujin?"

"One, I wanted to, two, if I had said otherwise he'd kill me."

"Well, beyond that?"

"What are you getting at?"

"I want to know why you're doing this."

"Because the world had always kept me on a leash, with Shujin I'm free. I'm an artist and he's practically my producer."

"Freedom, huh? Just like Zach. Why is it that you do this with your 'freedom'?"

"Are you trying to guilt-trip me? It ain't gonna work, buddy. I know you're just a kid and probably confused, but having your power repressed is a pain in the ass."

"One, you're not that strong. Two, I was just stalling," Heath admitted. "Fire away, Vic," he gave the cue.

Vic was on top of a building, holding a semi-automatic sniper rifle. She leans outward and aimed her reticle at a beast's head. She starts firing. A loud explosion sound follows a speeding projectile, the bullet pierced the head and took a big chunk of it. It was dead for sure, no matter whether human or beast, once the head is destroyed it's dead. She fired eleven consecutive shots after her first, 11 seconds later and all the beasts were dead.

"A sniper, huh? That's neat. Though I didn't care for these guys that much."

Cryo raised his hand, aims at Heath, and casts "Howitzer Wind 10/10". Heath drew "Heart Ace" and shielded himself. That only blocked the killing blow of the spell, he was thrown nearly two hundred meters back. An incredible gush of wind erupted and broke glass from buildings, lifted dust, and created a thin cloud. Nate fell a few steps back, but he stopped himself by creating a small ice wall behind him.

Vic took aim from her sniper's nest, and shot at Cryo's head.

Cryo erected "Water Wall" and the bullet swam through, then limped its trajectory to the ground. Heath came flying with "Feet Thrusters", he burst through the water and tries to grab Cryo. He passed through Cryo.

"Tch, his body spell is a hassle."

Heath drew several random cards from "Inferno Deck" and threw them at Cryo. His cards dissolved in the water. Nate casts "Ice Aurora" and entraps Cryo within the light. Cryo stopped moving, not even an inch.

Heath brought out "Heart Ace" and carried it in front of him. He ran up to Cryo, "ignite!" he yelled. From the front of the card flames ignited. Cryo was forced to dispell his Body Spell and he flinched. He took the explosion from Heath's attack and freezing in place simultaneously. He was thrown a great distance, rolling on the floor wrapped with ice. Cryo was still clear from Vic's vision. She aimed at the back of Cryo's head, pulled the trigger again, Cryo turned into water and poured out of his bindings.

Vic's shot was accurate and quick, but it was announcing itself everytime she pulled the trigger. Heath saw the opportunity however, he ran and casts a spell he stole from Ablaze, "Scorching Veil." It's firepower was nowhere nearing Ablaze's, but it was more than enough.

Cryo panicked and spiraled up back to normal and erected an ice wall. The ice wall sizzled and melted. Nate casts "Waterbolt", an orb of water that's propelled like from a slingshot. When added more condensed mana, the speed of Waterbolt can surpass subsonic speed. His attack shot through the wall and hit Cryo along the way.

"These kids are relentless!"

Nate then erected a wall of ice that divided them. Heath flew away and went to Vic.

"Fire x Fire: Cluster Strike", Vic's modern depiction of spells and Heath's firepower, they launched several projetiles to the air that thrusted themselves down, broke apart, and blew up.

"You fucking serious!?" Cryo covered himself with a dome of ice, it was destroyed pretty easily.

Smoke covered the streets, from where Heath and Vic were, they couldn't see Cryo nor Nate.

"Is he dead?"

"I doubt it, but that should hurt him."

"What about Nate?" Vic worried

"I'm not down there, am I?"

"No shit."

Vic then grabbed on to Heath and they travelled through the air and landed where Nate should be.

They heard coughing. Then a gush of wind that cleared the smoke. It came from Nate. He was on the ground, laying. The wall of ice that divided them collapsed from the cluster strike.

"Is he... Dead?" Nate coughing.

"I don't think so."

The smoke cleared completely and standing in it was Cryo. He's all bloody. Bleeding from his head, his eyes, he even lost his right arm. "You pieces of fucking shit!" He yelled.

"This fucking hurt and fucking sucks, I'm going to fucking kill you."

"You're all talk, aren't you?"

"True Manifestation: Divine Ice" Cryo casted. his left fist glowed bright blue, he raised his hand up in the air then smashed to the ground. The road turned to ice. So did the buildings and debris. Then he touched what's left of his right arm and grew an arm of ice. It worked like a real one too. He raised both his hands together, bringing the ground up with him. The three were taken upwards.

"Divine Ice, turn any inanimate object into ice. And the ice created are mine to freely control. Isn't that nice?" Cryo patted himself on the back

They were taken a few hundred feet off the ground. "This is not good," Heath said. He drew a card from his Infernal Deck. Instead of his normal orange, the card burned black and purple.

"What's our move?"

"Anything you do, he'd make it his weapon. At least, that's my assumption. So, let me handle this," Heath said to the two. He walks forward with his special card drawn out, held with his right thumb and index. His entire body was sizzling, it gave off black smoke. Vic and Nate were coughing from it.

"You can still surrender, Christopher Shaw."

Cryo was taken aback, he was shocked, "how the hell do you know my name?" He clenched his fist, angry.

"You think you're really off the books, Chris? No one will forget what you did."

"Nothing happened."

"Remember Marilyn? Joseph?" Heath asked

"Okay, I don't need this shit. You're fucking dead!"

"Don't you think you should redeem yourself?"

Cryo stopped talking and just ran at him. He conjured two big ice spikes that hovered beside him.

"They left a note. They said they forgive you," Heath said. Cryo slowed down and nearly froze in place. In a split second, Heath vanished and puffed the smoke around where he was. The last thing Cryo saw was smoke. "I lied. Go burn in hell," Heath damned.

Cryo was cut in half and was starting to crumble into dust and that dust to nothing. That was Heath's spell, inspired by his past, "True Manifestation: Oblivion Incineration".
