"Jon...?" Laura called.

Jon turned to her and glared intensely. She started shaking. She gripped her sword but it didn't stop her tremors.

"How the hell are we going to survive this?" Heath thought to himself. "He nearly killed Shino without even moving. Or was there time manipulation involved? If that's true then none of us stands a chance. Except for maybe... Volta? She could probably only ru-"

"Oi, dickhead!" Sam called. Jon turned to him and glared.

"I know you think you're some sort of big shot here."

"That's because he is, Sam," Nate replied.

"Well, I don't give two fucks about that. You said you were trying to help Dan, right? It doesn't seem like it at all to me!" Sam grew frustrated. Exactly what he needs.

"Don't provoke him," Volta whispered.

Sam grabbed his Twin Blades and tried to clash them together. His movements were fast enough to clash the blade in a second. A second is a lifetime for Jon. Jon held Sam's latter blade right before clashing. Jon looked deep into Sam's eyes.

Volta came from behind Jon and tried to stab the back of his head with her "Light Blade". The blade just phased through his head.

Heath figured something quickly. He drew his "True Manifestation: Oblivion Incineration" card. "Move!" He yelled. Volta ducked and Heath threw the card.

"Stop," Jon commanded. The card stopped adjacent to his head.

"Drop," Jon commanded again. Everyone dropped to the ground. And there's a strong force that's keeping them down. Jon started walking away. He started floating and was about to fly away.

"Drop!" Dan yelled. Then Jon slammed back to the ground.

"You're fighting me?"

"No. I need you to listen." Dan slowly got back up.

"That's not happening."

"THIS IS MY FIGHT!"

"Not anymore."

"Jon, I get it. You're frustrated, right? You wanna help me but that's also causing you to suffer."

"Why would it make me suffer?"

"Shujin killed my mom, my mom killed you. I get it. You wanted to take revenge on my mom, but that didn't happen. Now you want to avenge her for me by killing him, right? I know that you can but you're unsure whether you should, right?"

"You just don't have the guts to kill, Dan."

"Now that my mom's... gone, I can't."

Jon turned around and dispelled his command. "What the hell do you want!?" He dashed and stared down Dan's eyes.

"I want to honor her."

"How? By doing nothing!?"

"Shujin's wrong, no matter what anyone would say. But, I don't want to kill him."

"WHY!?"

"My mom. She left a life of killing to have me. I don't want to force myself into a life in which she left to be happy and then dwell in self-loathing."

"Then I'll do it for me."

"No, I won't allow that either."

"Why?"

"Jon, you died. So did everyone else. And for centuries you've been kept unrested. You've got to accept that you died."

"I can't do that."

"You have to let go."

The Promise was then broken. One by one, souls of hundreds of Dark Sorcerers over a thousand years appeared around them.
