Chapter 25: Frozen

Alicia started to open her eyes slowly as she saw someone who is setting beside her playing with a dagger while staring to the ground looking deep in thoughts, When her vision started to get clearer each second, She found out it was Aran, she felt a little exhausted but tried to get up. Aran noticed her and quickly helped her to set slowly:

" How are you feeling?"

-" Exhausted... What happened?" She said as she put her hand on her head pulling her long strands of hair away to the back.

The man beside her looked dazzled by this scene, made him unable to even blink for less than a second, But, Aran was the type of man who can control his emotions and the way of showing it, if he has to he could smile in a funeral or look extremely sad in a wedding.

" What is the last thing you remember?" He asked cutting his own rope of thoughts.

- "Remember us. having breakfast with the leader of the group... there is something else, But all the memories after that are blurry and trying to remember it makes my head in spin and hurt" She said with a pained reaction on her face.

"It's okay, it should be painful anyway, being possessed, I thought there would be a worse side effect!" Aran said while giving her a cup of water.

Alicia looked at him in shock: " What?!!! Possessed..! Me... I let a lowly D** demon to use my body?" She felt disgusted and looked mad.

Aran knew this would happen, He just studied her over the last 15 year: " drink this it will make you feel better, and eat some food to regain your energy" he said while giving her a sandwich, then he stood up.

-" what did I do .. while this filthy thing was in my body... " She asked fear while looking to the ground with a disgusted look.

" Nothing really...you just wanted to separate us ...". He said as he stood in front of the window, blocking the weak sunlight from it, while small specks of dust flew around him.

-" And? You guys were strong enough so stick together, Right?" she looked the other way drinking the hot drink in her hands. As if she is asking in anticipation, but she already knows the answer, knew her friends were strong enough at least in heart.

" No, you succeeded!" Aran answered her calmly looking back at her As soon as she heard the sentence, The drink stopped in the middle of her throat, making her cough and look at him in shock and unbelieve:" What!! How?! Did you not know that I was possessed?"

" No actually Zain noticed, and tried to get into a fight with Joey to prove that, but unfortunately Joey went mad for real cause he didn't know Zain's intention, Actually cause he doesn't know you enough that's all..but here is the problem...they are gone!"

Aran looked down at Alicia who was looking up to meet his eyes, " What. ..do you mean ....Zain is gone?"

Aran squatted to get closer to her, on the bed " You were strong... because you did not let it do anything farther....and.." he looked to the other side and looked at the dagger in his hand " I wouldn't have let it do farther than that, cause I won't let you think badly about yourself...never" he turned back looking at her turquoise fearful eyes, he knew what she thought about. She thought that she caused them trouble, No, That she caused Zain troubles.

Alicia looked at him, and they locked eyes with each other, he was the first to look away then stood up and give her his hand:

"You were strong.. He didn't last in your body for a long time, You kicked him out.." He smirked.

After a couple of seconds, she left her hand and held his, As he pulled her hand up to help her to stand on her feet.

"What happened to Zain and the others?" Alicia asked him after she put on her coat..

" I asked Sana about them, and he told me that Zain went behind Joey and Ryou, I don't know to where, But I know if Zain went behind them then its serious " Aran said as he hang the dagger back in the sheath.

" What are we going to do now.. follow them?" Alicia asked.

" ... We will wait here till we see what to do.."

After half an hour or less, As they both sat on the table inside the tent. loud screams were heard suddenly, Aran stood up in shock and held his dagger off-hand, and walked out slowly as Alicia did the same and got her gun out ready to shoot, and walked behind him.

Aran lifted the tent cover slowly, and looked carefully to find all the people of the village running in one direction, which the screams came from.

They got out of the tent, following them, He found people huddled around something.

He tried to pass through the people gathered there to see what are they screaming and gathering around, Alicia walked behind him too, as soon as he arrived and looked, he found a group of corpses piled up on top of each other, all of them tending to have blue skin, but the common thing in these bodies is their ugliness and horror-clear faces.

After seeing this scene, he turned back to Alicia and covered her eyes quickly as he himself looked away, As he moved taking her away. and pushed her in front of him to prevent her from looking back at the scene, Whatever she understood what happened. and did not utter a word.

When they were on their way back to the tent, they heard the sound of children screaming, Alicia run off fastly followed by Aran, following the sound and found Sana and his sister crying over the body of a woman covered with a white sheet up to her face they were crying heavily, uttering one word only,

" Mother", While their father Voha sitting on his knees crying in silence as well.

Alicia remained standing in her place as if this scene brought back unwanted memories of her Past. Aran felt that too, so he placed his hand on her shoulder and pulled her with him to the Tent.

As soon as they entered the tent, Alicia sat on the bed with a cold face with no emotions, except that Aran was able to feel the strength of this storm that was inside of her even with him being centimeters away from her. he could feel this deep screams and fear in her heart.

Aran felt tense, pushing his golden hair back with one hand and placing the other on his waist in annoyance, thinking of what to do he can not communicate with the others, and he can not stay here waiting for danger too. as this things happen.

He took a deep breath, He left his head up and took a deep breath as to calm himself.

" We can't stay here any longer ...We don't know what is this thing that is attacking those people".

She looked at him. "What about the others?"

Before Aran could utter any word a man came into the tent and said loudly in fear:

"Mr Aran, Ms Alicia. You must come and see!"

They looked at each other and ran behind the man to find both Napi and Ryou next to each other on a sled used by the Hunters, both of them unconscious.
