Chapter 22: The Beginning Of A deadly Storm

The air is starting to get stiffer, and every step Joey takes feels cold, wrong, And more and more uncertain, His heart wants to go back to the tent where the warmth along with his friends, reproaching them, But never to leave them, Being this hasty was never his way, Joey for the first time feels like something wants to enter his heart, Something dark, something wants to control, It was also Behind the quarrel between them, Something Evil wants to create bad intentions in his Heart, Something wants to control his mind through his feelings, Wait a minute, These are only the actions of the devil..why do I feel like this now...why are more people around me acting like ....the devil, Joey thought for a moment before the man with a wide grin on his pale blue lips interrupt his thoughts.

" It's too late, You are already out of the boundaries, And you are alone, Just... surrender," Ryou said coldly.

Joey just stood there for a moment before digesting what was just happening. A second later he turned to face his childhood friend,

" You.. are not Ryou....a Demon...?" Joey said in low voice. not believing how naive he was to not notice, How was he only lured out of the middle of his friends and out of the village borders to be alone. How silly he is!

Joey put his hand in his Leather Jacket's pocket and held his knife secretly without taking it out, only if he needed it will he draw it out. it's his Best friend's body, At least, he will not risk hurting him.

" Get out of his body, now! " Joey shouted at him.

The demon smirked, Joey blinked when a sudden wind hit them, Trying to reopen his eyes he found out that the demon disappeared from his sight. But in less than a moment, Joey was surprised as the demon suddenly appeared behind him, Whispering in his ears: " They all are going to die soon"

Joey was shocked by this sudden move, he breathed heavily, collecting his thoughts, As He suddenly hit the demon with his elbow to the back with full force, The demon was hurt indeed as the hit was too sudden, He held his head in pain " You are going to hurt your friend's body like this?" He smirked

" Humans did change..."

Joey held out the knife and stood away from it, As he faced him " What do you want!? "

The demon smiled " Food! "

The demon not only possessed Ryou's body but also made him faster and stronger, Joey did not know how to defeat it without hurting his Childhood friend.

" You are loyal. not as those people..." The demon said approaching Joey, Walking step by step towards him as Joey is taking steps back. As he was thinking of a way to get it out without hurting Ryou.

" You don't believe me, but after the king gone missing, We need to take our prudence. We need supplies, We were so angry, As the king ordered us to not hurt any human beings because of this stupid peace treaty, We had to commit, So we found this place, Full of people but guess what! Those people died a long time ago! And they do not even know!" Joey was shocked, the demon took this chance and got closer to him, now he is facing him, as the demon smiled :

" Only one step, and you will be gone too "

Joey felt the cold wind going through his jacket underneath him, he felt the chills hitting his body like bullets, Joey looked behind him, to see that he was standing on the end of a high cliff.

Suddenly the demon put his hand on his belt and took the gun out of its case.

Joey was shocked when he saw the gun, he knew that he must take action now or he will be killed.

-"You...Said you can not kill humans because it's against the peace treaty.." Joey said in a trembling voice.

" Yes," The demon said in the same tone lowly.

- " But how, We...Are humans...You must not kill us..."

" And The King is gone!" The demon said loudly with happiness and a wide grin that reached his ears as he opened his arms.

-" Ryou... Ryou you need to be strong, don't let it control you!" Joey shouted in hopes that his friend could hear him somehow.

The demon laughed and took another step toward Joey, and stopped, It looked at Joey's hazel eyes, which now are full of fear, then looked at the gun in his hand. He smiled even more as he took all the bullets out of the gun, Which made Joey confused, isn't he going to shoot me? he thought,

As the bullets slip through the demon's fingers, Some Sharp crystal pieces of ice were created in his other hand instead of the bullets, which made Joey's soul shrink with fear, As the demon pointed it toward Joey.

Watching Joey's reaction as his eyes followed the demon's hands was too entertaining to him. fear was too delicious to the dark creatures.

Joey was terrified by what is happening he took another step back as his back faced the cliff. if the demon did not kill him he would fall or freeze to death if he stayed in this state.

" Look here, I can not kill you right away, or my people are going to get mad. And here is the thing, We do not eat dead people because they become soulless and we can not eat humans too, so am just going to have some fun with you, !"

"But before we play, I will tell you something fun! the kids, they are the only thing that forbids us from killing those people yet, you know why? ! "  

"... they are... humans?!!" Joey said lowly

" Am thinking ...how is it going to end for each one of you...? It will be interesting to watch..." The demon said smirking.

" Ryou !! " Joey shouted. knowing that if this demon killed him or any other human how would his friend feel when he woke up?

. Zain had been walking in the snow as it gets windy and cold every time he got far from the tents, he stopped as he heard something ، it was Joey's voice shouting Ryou's name, Zain had a feeling of what is going on, he fastly ran towards the Voice's direction. Zain found a lot of spruce trees on his way.

And When he got close he saw someone standing with his back, Yes it was Ryou standing with his back to Zain as he saw Joey facing him while his back to a cliff, Zain did not understand the situation and just kept his eyes on Joey. trying to figure out what to do next. the last thing he wanted was to let the demon feel his presence.

"The kids are humans!.." Joey said shocked by the facts.

" Yeah ..the rest they are lost souls which is our only food for us available here....but the kids..they are alive.... quite lucky right?...and because of the stupid peace treaty, not until we make sure the king is dead, We can not harm them, we will just wait for them to die like the rest. ".

" And now it's your turn.... let's see...if you are as lucky as them!" The demon said.

" Take my body and leave his!" Joey said to the demon.

Zain was shocked, he was about to move, But suddenly Joey looked at him and they locked their eyes together, Joey did not look at him for long he did not want the demon to notice that Zain was there, Joey shocked his head as NO, while he was looking at the demon but Zain somehow understood that Joey did not want him to come out now. Zain stayed behind the tree waiting for the right moment. taking his dagger out of his boots and holding it down standing ready to bounce.

" What?....look here...you are loyal! "

The demon laughed, Joey smiled too and thought that his plan worked.

But suddenly the demon stopped his laughs and looked mischievously at Joey.

" No. I want something more !" He said, and without any warning, he stabbed Joey in his stomach with the ice crystal, Zain did not see that coming, Zain was shocked and ran towards Joey without any second to think, to catch him before he fall off the cliff.

" One died with his friend's own hands, and the other will be eaten by guilt...only three to go," The demon said lastly before it left Ryou's body and Ryou fell to the ground unconscious.
