Immediately she was done, she rushed out of the house and left, heading to her favourite spot to see the beautiful sunrise. She knew going to others was a bad idea because no one liked her. It was a shame how many female omegas disliked her to the extent that they got her in trouble with the person who was in charge of the place. He was a greedy man who bought more omegas to keep and sold them to rich werewolves for his gain. I always wondered why we were bought and selected if the ruler of werewolves was a powerful alpha. But when one of my childhood friends Miles, who was sold as well, explained to me that the alpha may have had killed other alphas and took control. He had no rights over the lower rankings or other high rankings, although they abided by the alpha's rules and obeyed him, they were allowed to live and buy slaves as they wished and that was how, Parker, an old beta used us and sold us, and he didn't like me that much mostly because I always went against his ridiculous rules. I was a little stubborn and questioned the rules high-ranking werewolves put in place. Our territory was on the outskirts, shielded by an enchanted spell that prevented us from leaving. I wasn't sure such things existed or believed witches were there and cast a spell around our area however in a world of werewolves, anything was possible,
Immediately I ran through the woods. And smiled as I twirled around the open space and looked up at the bright sky. The pale blue sky floating with white clouds, the cool breeze blowing the leaves made me anxious as I stretched to touch the green leaves which were wet from the dewdrops. The birds leap back and forth on the tree. Dewdrops, rolling along with the dandelion and the clover dreams splashing a piece of transparent sunlight on a golden squirrel, hatching dawn that was no longer wet. The morning sun was quiet and elegant, without the noisy atmosphere
I loved the sound of chirping birds in the morning. I continued my journey, going further to a place where I found peace. The breeze, the green grass woke up the wind which blew gently across my face parting my hair as little as I ran up the soft green grass which looked greener under the shower of sunlight
"This is my day...it's my birthday" I muttered and kicked a little branch up and down my steps. I was happy, although my sister didn't remember my birthday. It was turning eighteen and every time Jeena would be the first one to wish me a happy birthday, and like every time there was a little family celebration which I was looking forward to
reaching my secret place, I climbed up the nearby hills to breathe fresh air and move around freely, the sun had just risen this side and looking up at the grassland, I smiled faintly and pushed a few strands of hair off my face and straightened up. The diffuse fog gradually subsided and the woods and the brushes were all wet, the petals of flowers, the drops of crystal water, the glittery and magnificent colour which had me smiling as I extended my arms to the sides and enjoyed the beautiful weather. My birthday has never been this special. I felt happy far away from others and their mocking which I didn't want, and before I could
"I guess the birthday girl is happy" while lost in my admiration and connection with nature, I slipped on the wet grass and nearly fell hearing a voice which belonged to someone I didn't know, but I balanced as I awkwardly turned around, and my smile grew even bigger. I wasn't expecting to see the person in front of me standing in his all-black attire, he was smiling at me and had extended his arms to the sides as if inviting me for a hug and like a kid, I rushed to him and threw myself in his arms
"Oh my gosh...you fool how...how come you are here!" I screamed cheerfully as I moved from his embrace and punched him on the chest which was even solid with muscles everywhere unlike before. My best friend. The second person was like a brother to me. Someone who was there for me even when my sister was upset, and it was Miles standing there
"Are you that shocked...eye-la?" he said with a chuckle as we stood side by side looking towards the extension of the green field. I was happy knowing he learned how to pronounce my name correctly, which was a good thing because not everyone knew the correct pronunciation of my name
"So what brought you here...the last time I checked...you are now...the alpha's sentinel, "I remarked shyly as I tucked my hair behind my ears knowing Miles was not like us anymore. He used to be like us, and omega everyone looked down on until he was bought. I was heartbroken because I lost a brother figure; however, it was shocking to see the alpha's sentinel coming to the lower rankings. He was not just a good fight, but Miles had skills fighting formidable skills, I wasn't too surprised when his talent and capabilities were recognized, and now he was here and if he was here it only meant
"Tonight it's happening... I came last night... I was happy because it's your birthday" he said, and I saw his oval-shaped face with small brown eyes lit up in delight and I chuckled
"So...you are here...does it mean he...I thought he never liked coming here" I was confused, I was told so many things about the alpha, he was someone who never rubbed shoulders with those of lower rankings. Some said the sight of an omega disgusted him, that if any omega dared to show their face to him. They were killed immediately, and those stories fascinated me. Every time Miles came, I would ask him about the alpha, what he was like. Why he was so bitter, why did no one tells him to stop being a tyrant feared by everyone
"Well I'm as surprised as you kiddo...he's here alright…" he said with a smile and I looked at him still confused. If the so-called alpha was here, then wasn't it too scary. I only heard how ruthless he was and many preferred his absence, but now it was like things changed. The man they feared was going to be there, and of what she knew. And now she understood what Olivia said. The females were eager this time. Instead of hearing to be slaves, they were happy to be sold for the first time, and she guessed, some wished to serve the alpha which was an honour. I sighed as I shoved my hands in my pocket hoodie and looked at the surroundings with narrowed eyes.
"So...do you wish to…" Miles started, and I understood where the conversation was going
"No... Jeena will be heartbroken...Miles... I'll be away during all this... I know how important it is to find my parents out there, but my sister will be sad if I'm taken"I muttered lowering my gaze to the ground, my voice was low and Miles glanced at me with a soft gaze and a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips and I smiled "but then again I prefer not to be given to someone I don't love ...to me love is important...I want to have my mate" I added knowing how much I longed to be free. The ways to freedom cost a lot and I knew how much I would go through just to reach my destination,
"It's okay kiddo trust me...you are safe here...Jeena only wants what's best for you" miles said patting me on my shoulder and I smiled faintly
"But I…"I started but stopped when Miles was giving me a weird look as if he found me unusual. I arched a brow at him and he had a serious expression on his face
"You...Umm...smell different….so different...did you run into someone...Umm anyone well..." he muttered more like he wasn't sure what he was saying and I frowned knowing even Jeena said the same thing. I was confused because I took a bath, long bath and I added all the nicely scented shower gels I could find. I even took so many perfumes to make sure I smelled delightful but now I was back to square one again
"What do you mean...I smell the same...you are being delusional" I replied still frowning at him and Miles was even more serious as he leaned to me and took a sniff of my body as if trying to confirm only to draw back and frowned
"You...umm...smell like someone I know," he remarked hesitantly and I was now upset as I smacked him on the shoulders and turned to leave
"Everyone is crazy," I said and ran away from there. My morning was ruined, why on earth were they all acting strange, I smelled fine and they should not tease me. I quickly ran down the hill and thought I would escape trouble for the day unfortunately that wasn't it,
"Get her!"I heard Parker's angry deep voice yell from afar, his voice was too deep and scary and I knew he had found some fault with me. The old man was always on my throat looking for ways to torture me "I have a better price for this arrogant brat!" he shouted again and I saw three of his men coming my way and I swallowed hard as I scanned to my sides looking for an escape, he was a bad old man, .
