"W-what?" Marion widened her eyes when she heard the statement that slipped quietly from William's lips. What exactly happened to that guy to turn possessive for no reason?
Wasn't he the kind of guy who was cold and uninterested in Marion—except, of course, for that weird contract thing? Then why now he suddenly turned into—.
"I-I mean—when you're at the office of course you have to focus on doing your job, right?" evaded William, who returned his focus to the food in front of him. While Marion in the end looked away in another direction.
Inwardly she was grateful that she didn't react right away, but instead let the man finish his sentence. Although the girl didn't know if William meant what he said or just let loose because then the man corrected it.
"Oh, yes. There is one thing you must do since you became my assistant," William said in between enjoying his lunch. Marion who wanted to ask 'what is it, sir?' finally was forced to give up.
Marion didn't want her boss to think she was interested in what he had to say.
Well, no... or maybe yes.
"You don't want to know what I'm about to say, Marion?" he asked. Marion straightened up, wanting to show that she was 'perhaps' interested in hearing it all. However, Marion only put on the face she used to show. There is no curiosity drawn there. She remained in the initial position, that she did not want to get too involved in her boss's life.
Aren't they just assistants and bosses? So, let's keep everything in its portion. If Marion does not set firm boundaries for herself, she may be like another employee or another woman who will eventually drown in the charm of the Don Juan named William Reynz.
"You can just say what you have to say, sir. I'll be listening carefully," said Marion, shifting her seat to make it look like she was a little curious.
Marion only felt sorry if the man spoke and realized that she was not at all interested because she had already lost her feelings for him. "Fine, sir. I'm ready to listen. And if you have any input for me, I'd be happy to take any of it."
Good job, Marion!
That was a very kind gesture, especially since she could be said to be a new employee.
"Hmm ... I guess since we've just worked together, there isn't anything I want to tell you as input. I just wanted to explain a little bit about my work system. And also as a personal assistant, who ... you should know what to do— "
"As in the contract?" shot Marion, unwilling to wait for William to finish his sentence.
"Yep, more or less like that!" the man replied, but in the next second, he realized he had simply agreed with what Marion had said, which in other words meant he confirmed the girl's understanding. "Uhm, no! Not like you understand. You still understand that as harassment, hm?"
Marion stared at William unblinkingly, not out of awe at the flawless sculpture of the figure before her, but in her intimidation of the man.
"Then this is a good time to explain everything, right?" asked Marion, to be sure.
Of course. William will be happy to explain everything the girl needs. Anything, as long as he's no longer accused of being a pervert boss, or a masculine boss because that's not what Marion was working for.
Well ... maybe in the beginning there was a personal goal. However, if everyone knew what it was like to be of a faction like William, perhaps they would understand why he had to prey on Marion.
Unfortunately, William's hormones reacted differently whenever he was near that girl.
Is it wrong if William is confused by all that?
Moreover, the advice that Ange gave him at that time, he couldn't understand. It was obvious that Marion was a human, pure blood, how could she possibly be his match?
Has Amethyst lost her mind to tie the wrong thread? Or is this just an intermezzo for William before finally finding a mate that is created for him, who of course is from the same class as him?
Therefore, for the time being, maybe William should be more patient with Marion's sometimes rebellious and stubborn attitude.
Wasn't that the girl who succeeded in awakening the pent-up desire that only arose every time he was near her? Marion was the only real person so far. Even Tatiana—a beta girl who was once close and became his childhood best friend, had never made him feel the same and as strong a feeling as what he felt for Marion.
That girl is magical. With a rebellious demeanor, a face that seems ordinary—although charming with long, wavy brown hair that always emits a seductive fragrance every time she moves, long, curly eyelashes and eyebrows that frame her beautiful eyelids with hazel-colored irises. Beautiful, but not the prettiest on the planet—in fact, it made William's heart pound wildly.
Then why did he hesitate to confirm the girl, if indeed that interest was already at the bottom of his heart which he probably just didn't want to admit? Yes, but he doesn't admit it. Maybe because of the sense of prestige, or as he always echoed in the cavity of his head, Marion was only human.
Never mind ... however he still could not refuse if the hormonal attacks and metabolic turmoil in his body reacted differently.
Inevitably he had to fulfill it, or he would be in pain for the rest of his life.
The problem now, is Marion willing to accept the fact that William has conveyed everything? Would she not be afraid and run away like most people if she saw the figure of a giant lycan in front of her, or even another giant creature, even if it was of the cutest and most awesome kind like the Alaskan Malamut.
It would still be scary for her, wouldn't it?
"What's in the contract letter ... is not really about being a mistress or a comfort woman, Marion. There are complex things that I can't explain the detail to you for some reason if that's what you ask," said William, which he immediately regretted. Didn't Marion ask for an explanation? Why did he just confuse the girl?
"So what's the point, sir?" Marion asked, making William not dare to look the girl in the eye. This was the first time he had been so nervous about a human who should have been his prey.
"That's ... actually because ..." William sighed loudly, trying to comfort himself, so he could divert the conversation a bit or come up with some other plausible excuse. "You know, I've come of age, 35 is not an age to be played around with. And I meant that contract was because ...."
'Fool, you, William! Say something, don't look like a desperate person!'
Marion waited a while until her patience ran out and she immediately calmly uttered a sentence that nearly choked William.
"You want to find a mate, you mean?"
