Falling For Him.

"Why are you breaking up with me?" he asks when he sees me leaving the locker room. "I already told you," I sigh feeling tears well up in my eyes. "I know what you told me Emma, and I didn't believe it then and I'm not gonna believe it now." "I-im pregnant..." I whisper dropping my head, "Pregnant? So you broke up with me? Chapter Seven

Emma's P.O.V

"Matthew wakey wakeyyyy" I say giving him a little shake, he just groans and continues to sleep. "Come on Matty, you gotta get up or you're gonna be late," I say shaking him again.

I let out a sigh, "Okay, I tried the easy way," I say grabbing a pillow and standing up on my bed. I smack him once then twice then do a little a jump and smack him a third time with the pillow. "Okay, okay I'm up" he yawns sitting up, "If you get in the shower now you'll still have time to eat before we leave" I say throwing the pillow down beside him.

He gets out of bed and heads to my bathroom taking his bag with him. I fix up the bed and head downstairs to make something to eat.

I crack some eggs in a bowl and beat them together before pouring them into a hot pan. I go to the freezer and grab some frozen waffles before tossing them into the toaster.

I go back to the eggs and scramble them up. I grab a glass and go to the fridge and pour myself some orange juice, my mom still drinks apple juice religiously but I can't stand it. It's orange juice all the way baby.

Matthew comes down dressed in sweats and a tee shirt with his hair still kind of wet. I place his plate down on the island and he sits in front of it. "So who are you playing? You got all weird last night when my mom asked," he just looks up at me.

"Emma, I don't want to talk about it okay?", he sighs "Let's just eat and head to the rink," he says and picks up a waffle biting into it angrily.

We eat in silence then head to his car and he drives us to the rink. We arrive about fifteen minutes before eight and we head in.

He heads to the locker room and I go and look at the other team that's on the ice, shit. It's Matthew's old team.

I go to the locker room and open the door a little but don't go in, I'm not sure if they're dressed and it's too early in the morning to be getting flashed.

"Matthew," I call out, "Yeah?" he sounds confused. "Can you come out here for a sec?" he doesn't respond but a few seconds later the door is pushed open and he comes out.

"The wolves, your old team. That's why you're being all weird," I don't mean to but my hands place themselves on my hips and I realize I look like a mom.

"Coach told me yesterday, if he told me the first day I definitely would not have agreed to this," he says shaking his head.

"Well, you'll do great. Go out there and show them what they're missing," I say and he nods.

"Okay, I can do this" he says then yawns, "Go kill em'" I say and pat his back.

He turns and goes back into the locker room, I go back to the rink and sit in the penalty box for the Tigers and watch the other team do their warm-ups.

The guy who took Matthew's place is definitely nowhere ad good as he is. He misses about eight of the ten shots he takes, most the goalie wasn't even laying attention and he so could have made them.

The leave the ice and a few minutes later the Tigers come out. They do some warm-ups and of course Matthew makes every shot he takes.

He seems very slow though, he then leans his head on his stick and looks like he's sleeping.

"Matthew dude wake up," number thirty-four says nudging him.

"Sorry," Matthew says bringing his head up and shaking it a few times. "Did you not sleep?" Zach says skating up beside him.

"I tried but every few hours Emma would push me off her bed," he says turning to me. I scoff, "You kept wanting to cuddle, but your body is like made of lava or something. You produce so much body heat it's crazy, it was getting too hot I had to get you off me," I say and throw my hands out a little.

The team stops what they're doing and looks between the two of us then to Zach. "Okay, Matthew come here," I say after a minute or so and stand up.

He skates over to the penalty box, I take his helmet off and hand it to him. "Love, what are you doing?" he asks scrunching his eyebrows.

I look past him and his team is still watching this interaction, I bring my hand back and smack him across the face.

"OW! What was that for?!" be yells and brings his hand up to his face. "To wake you up, now no more sleeping or ill have to hit you again" I and take his helmet from him and put it back on his head. I knock it twice and push his shoulder lightly so he can get back to warm ups.

Ten o'clock runs around and the game starts so I had to leave my nice spot in the penalty box, Gracie and Mara are sitting on either side of me and my parents behind us. "I can't believe he has to play against his old team his first game back on the ice," Mara says about five minuets into the game.

"Yeah, he was acting kind of weird because of it," I say watching him score the first goal of the game. The crowd cheers, I don't think anyone was cheering louder than my dad though.

About halfway through the second period I look across the the rink to the seating on the other side. And who sit's there but none other than Mr. Prime, Matthews son of bitch dad. "Matthew's dad's here," I say to Gracie and Mara.

"Well shit." Mara says when she catches sight of him, "What's he doing here?" Gracie asks glaring at him. Matthew scores another goal and his dad cheers, "Is he here... for Matthew?" I ask in disbelief. "Dad, are you seeing this?" I ask turning around to my parents. "Yeah, what the hell does he think he's doing here?" he says angrily.

Since his parents got divorced Dad has seen Matthew as his own son almost, he cares for him a lot and came to every single one of his hockey games. "I don't think Matthew's noticed him and as long as it can stay that way he'll keep scoring," I say turning back to the game.

The game ends, the Tigers won of course and the boys are heading to the locker room. I push through the crowd also trying to get to the locker room to congratulate Matthew on his first win back.

"Matthew you did great!" I say running up and hugging him, "Couldn't let those assholes win obviously," he rolls his eyes. The teams watching us again, why are they always staring at us?

"Matthew, you we're great out there," a voice says from behind me, I turn and there stands Matthews dad. I look back at Matthew and his smile falls and he tenses up, "Ah okay, well I just wanted to see if maybe you wanted to come with me to the diner when you're done?" his dad says after Matthew says nothing for a minute or two.

Matthew continues to just stare at him in silence, the team is still watching from behind him and the coach is watching closely to see if he needs to intervene. "So I see what we talked about last time stuck, is Emma your girlfriend now? She's grown into quite a beautiful young woman," he says smiling at me.

Matthew pushes me behind him, "I don't want to go anywhere with you, and don't you dare talk about Emma again. Don't even say her name," he say stepping closer to his dad. His dad goes to say something and before he can get the words out Matthew punches him square in the nose, a loud crunch coming from echoing through the hall.

"You little fucker!" his dad yells holding his bloody nose, the coach waves over security and they take his dad away and Matthew pushes past the team and goes into the locker room. "Who was that?" Zach asks pointing at where the scene just took place, "That was Matthews dad," shock falls on all of their faces.

"He punched his dad?" Zach asks, "They haven't talked in about four years, and he's a complete asshole. The only good thing he's ever done was put Matthew on the ice at a young age and push him to be as good a player that he is. Other than that he should be beat with a bat until he's nothing but mush." I say crossing my arms over my chest.

"Well shit," Leo says then goes into the locker room, the rest of the team following. Zach stands there for a second looking at me before he goes into the locker room.

Because of all the "Ice" I haven't been able to go to work these last three days and I've gotten about a week and a half's worth of chapters written.
