Unexpected Risks

"Yeah, I'll be careful. But that's nothing new. As long as I'm smart, I can work things out."

"Okay…" Nelphy sighed, staring down her empty glass.

"Want more?" asked Bil, holding up the yellow bottle. "You seem to like it a lot."

Nodding, Nelphy waded deeper into her buzz and held out her cup. "Alright! But promise to keep in touch and visit often!"

Bil stopped his hand just before the sweeta poured out. "I'm sorry, Nelphy, but I won't be visiting. Ever."

"HUH?! But–"

"Nelphy, calm down or I won't pour you another one..." Getting her to comply, Bil filled Nelphy's cup halfway. At the same time, Bil took out his seal stone and covered all three of them in ethereal sealing energy. "You can visit me all you want, but I can't visit you at all. That's just how it is. Sorry, but I can't change that. Visiting is riskier than living here in Boarril."

"But you promised to buy us a house??" Nelphy mumbled, pouting with her words and eyes.
