In this world, everything is a mess.

I look in the mirror for the last time, my ice-cold
hands clasped together. No matter what happens, I
can't be spotted.
I stare at the girl in the reflection. She stares back.
"Let's just hope nothing goes wrong today."
The girl in the mirror responds with an indifferent
expression. Sighing, I pull my hood on. Then, I walk
out.
[ In the beginning, we had always imagined the luxuries of having robots. Incredibly intelligent, high-tech machines we would have the ability to control. They would be able to carry out tasks and serve as companions. ]
The town is crowded. As usual. Assortments of
different fruits are displayed in crates and stalls. The
man selling trisops is yelling at people to buy his fruits. As usual.
[ In the late era of Cenozoic, groups of scientists formed collaborations and competed against each other. Their goal was to find the formula and script needed to build the machines; the CoDe. After two decades, one group won. Robots were created, and a new era was born. ]
The crowd grows denser. I pull my hood down. "Just a few more blocks," I remind myself.
[ People were content at first, happy with the new
creations. They praised the creators of the masterpieces and thanked them for giving them the beginning of a more convenient life.
It was only a couple of years before they realized the
downfalls. ]
People surround me in all directions, but I needn't
fear. The colours of the street signs will show the way.
Red, blue, yellow.
A little girl stares at me with fascination. She tugs at
her mom's sleeve. I start to pick up the pace.
Blue. Yellow.
Her mom faces her in confusion. The little girl talks,
grinning from ear to ear.
"Mom! You would never guess what I just saw! I saw-"
The mom flinched, eyes wide.
Yellow.
I wish I never had to see it again. That same face. The same disgust and shock. I simply despise it. But it can't be helped. After all, there is a difference between them and me.
I turn and enter the alley.
