438. Fire Dragon Ignia

"Son of Igneel, huh? That means he is Natsu's brother in a sense. Let's see if he is as good as his father."

Ben is flying above a mountain now, looking at a big cave that releases hot air. He feels a Dragon's magic power from inside the cave and Selene has confirmed that it is Ignia's magic power. Ben chooses to attack the Fire Dragon first because it will be easier.

"I don't know how strong Viernes is, so it's better to take care of the less problematic opponent first."

Ben releases his concealed magic power a little to make Ignia notice him. He gets a result quickly as Ignia comes out from the cave just a few seconds after he released his power. Ignia doesn't appear in his Dragon form, but in his human form though.

He looks at Ben who descends and now stands in front of him. "This magic power. You were the one who used that big Dragon magic a few days ago. So you've finally decided to show up, huh? Who are you?"

"Me? Just a Dragon Slayer who comes here to kill you."

"Huh?... Pfft, HAHAHAHA! You want to kill me? HAHAHA, it seems all Dragon Slayers are the same. They always believe they can kill Dragons. I agree that you are quite strong judging from the spell you used a few days ago. But if you can only make something at that level, then you don't have a chance against me."

"Fire Dragon Ignia, son of Fire Dragon King Igneel, is that right? You claim yourself to be a Fire Dragon God. That means you should be even more powerful than your father who only dared to hold the title of a King while you are a God. Well, it's either you are truly powerful or you are just too full of yourself. Though I must say, it seems you are at least better than Igneel in Transformation Magic. I don't know about your fire though."

"And you sure know how to run your mouth, human."

"Well, of course. I like to entertain those I'm about to kill so that they won't be lonely in their last minutes."

Ben grins while Ignia is surely angry. But then the Fire Dragon laughs loudly because it's funny for him to get angry at someone's provocation. His anger is still there while he laughs though.

"Hahaha, I'll make sure you die as painfully as possible."

Ignia suddenly shoots a powerful fire beam from his hand toward Ben who just stands there while smirking. The fire engulfs Ben and keeps moving to destroy everything in its path. A wide straight burnt path filled with smoke is created by the fire beam.

The ground is burnt to the point it turns red because of how hot it becomes. It slowly gets cooled down, so the hot red ground turns into the black charcoal ground. But there is one spot that doesn't get damaged, the spot where Ben stands.

"Ooh, that's a nice flame. It's hotter than Natsu's flame at the very least, but not by much. I don't know how it compares to Igneel's flame because I never checked his flame."

Ignia is shocked to see that Ben doesn't get any injury, not even a scratch appears on Ben's body. He is very proud of his power even though he lost against Acnologia. Although he lost, Ignia managed to injure Acnologia, so it is very surprising that his attack didn't affect Ben.

"Sigh, it seems I overestimated you because you are Igneel's son. If it's him, then I'm sure I would get hurt even a little. You need to use a stronger attack. Something at that level won't even scratch me. Are you sure you are really a Dragon God who was said to be at Acnologia's level? Ah, sorry, you are scared of him, right? I heard you run away when battling him while pissing your pants."

Ben keeps provoking Ignia and the Fire Dragon gets angry very easily. That anger finally makes Ignia transforms into his Dragon form. Now Ben can be sure that Ignia is really Igneel's son. Their appearances in their Dragon forms are very similar, after all.

Ignia shoots his Dragon Roar as soon as he transformed toward Ben. It's bigger and stronger than the previous attack which makes Ben happy. He is grinning widely because finally, he has something worth eating.

Ben opens his mouth and starts sucking the fire beam that Ignia shoots. Nothing hit him or his surrounding because Ben sucks all the fire Ignia shot, to the last bit. It obviously surprises Ignia who never thought that there will be someone who can eat his flame.

"Have you realized? I am immune to your flame to the point I can eat it. After all, as a fire-type Dragon, my magic is of a higher rank than yours, so obviously, your magic won't work on me. Now, let me show you the true power of fire."

Ben says that while creating a fireball the size of a car tire on his hand. He throws it at Ignia who doesn't feel anything dangerous from the weakly thrown fireball. It looks weak that he doesn't even try to dodge. Instead, he swats it with his left hand, which proves to be a mistake.

Upon touch, the fireball suddenly generates a lot of flames that engulf Ignia's entire body. Ben compressed a massive amount of his powerful flame in that small fireball. Ignia's touch triggered the fireball to release all the flame contained inside it.

The flame is very hot and powerful that even Ignia the Fire Dragon feels its heat. His scream of agony can be heard from every corner of the mountain. It's not just any fire, after all. It's Sun Dragon's fire with a temperature almost as hot as the Sun itself.

The fire keeps burning for 5 minutes and Ignia can't even get out of it because Ben makes the wall hard enough so Ignia won't be able to break it. After 5 minutes passed, the fire disappears and Ignia appears with a lot of burn marks.

"You, just who are you?"

"Well, at least I can tell you before I send you to Igneel. Remember this even after you die! I am Ben Cooper, son of Escanor, the Sun Dragon Slayer. Also, I am the man who has killed the one you kept chasing. I am the one who killed Acnologia."

Ignia is surprised, but he immediately realized that Ben is a very bad opponent for him. His fire magic attribute is at a disadvantage against Ben's Sun magic attribute. He realizes it when Ben's fire was burning him even though he is an utterly powerful Fire Dragon.

Now he realizes that it's because Ben's fire was superior and that fire has the power of the sun. Solar energy was mixed in it because it's a flame made by a Sun Dragon Slayer. It might be fire, but it's not the type of fire that Fire Dragons use, that's why it was effective against Ignia.

Ignia tries to escape because he knows he doesn't have a chance if his magic doesn't work on Ben, but Ben's magic is very effective against him. Too bad though, Ben won't let him escape. Ben pins Ignia down with his Sun Dragon's Gravity magic and Ignia can't resist such powerful Gravity with his badly injured body.

Ben raises his right hand and points to the sky while looking at the terrified Ignia. A big golden solar energy spear appears in the sky, right above Ignia. The fire dragon can feel powerful energy above him, so he looks up and gets surprised by what he sees.

"I never hated you, I just want to ensure my children's future, and you can be a threat to them. Ah, also, I am a Dragon Slayer, so it's in my instinct to hunt Dragons in my life. So, sorry about this."

Ben swings his hand down and the solar spear also gets shot down. It drops very fast that Ignia doesn't even have the chance to escape. The golden solar spear pierces Ignia's body easily without much resistance. It even pierces the ground and destroys the ground as it explodes.

The explosion engulfs Ignia again, but now it's solar energy instead of just fire. So this is more powerful than before even though it doesn't last that long. Only a few seconds and the solar energy disappears.

But Ignia gets more damage than before, especially the damage caused by the spear. He's lucky that Ben has use of his body. If not, then Ben would explode the spear inside Ignia's body which would surely kill and destroy Ignia's body.

"Hoh, you are still alive even with a big hole in your body, I expected no less from a self-proclaimed Dragon God. But the result will still be the same. Farewell, Fire Dragon Prince."

Ben smirks while creating a solar energy longsword. Then he swings the longsword, creating a sharp solar energy attack that flies toward Ignia's neck. The badly injured Fire Dragon can't move, so he can only let the sharp solar energy attack cut his neck, killing him.

"Sorry about this, Igneel. If it's Natsu, then he might be able to change this guy's heart. But I am no Natsu. I don't have the ability to change people like him through talk like some stories' kind Main Characters. It's you who I am indebted to, not him, and if I need to repay that debt, then I will pay it to Natsu. Besides, it's you from my timeline that has helped me, not you from this timeline."

"..... Well, that's enough excuse, now let's take the loot."

As usual, Ben turns Ignia's body into a lacrima crystal to make a new Fire Dragon Slayer at Natsu's level. Then he enters the cave to check if Ignia has some stash and he isn't disappointed. The Fire Dragon is storing quite a lot of treasures in the cave that he won't just leave there. Now, it's time to attack the Gold Dragon Viernes.
