Chapter 33: Celestial Spirit Magic

~Third POV~

Taking the practices elsewhere Lucy invites Silva to her apartment as he whistles at the place inside her home, "Whistle~ Nice place you have here. 70,000J for a month seems pretty cheap for such a nice place."

Lucy smiles at that puffing her chest out in pride about her living conditions in a cheerful tone to Silva, "Yup! Thanks for you giving the tip and Mira's advice for this place. Now then you wanted to learn about Celestial Spirit Magic, right?"

Silva nodded as he questioned her about how many spirits, she's made in the contract about the rules behind it, "Yup. Although I know some stuff about the Celestial Spirit Magic, I'm wondering what's needed for it. Also, how many contracts do you have."

Lucy happily replied showing her 7 keys with 4 of them being Silver and 3 Gold one explaining to him, "Seven forms. You call celestial spirits forms. The Silver Keys are the one's sold in Magic Stores. But these Gold ones open the Gates called the Twelve Zodiacs. They're extremely rare to find."

Silva nods holding out the Golden Key of the Maiden as he fumbles with it asking Lucy how to open the gate in a curious tone, "Neat. But how exactly does one summon the Gate you speak of bringing the Spirit from the Celestial Spirit World to this one? Do you simply fuel it with Magic Power only?"

Lucy sighs at this shaking her head before replying to Silva what he needs to summon the Gate into their world, "Sigh… yes and no. Yes, you need to fuel it with your Magic Power, but you also need an incantation to activate it. Once you form the contract you don't need the incantation but merely say Open the Gate of what spirit you want."

Silva nodded as he listened to the incantation needed as he began to use Virgo Key announcing the incantation needed with Lucy stepped back happily seeing another Golden Key Spirit, "Very well Lucy-sensei. Ahem! I am one who creates paths to the Celestial Spirit World! You must answer and pass through your Gate!!!"

However, nothing happened as Lucy looked a bit dumbfounded as did Silva but tried to do it again to see if he was wrong or not, "Ahem! I am one who creates paths to the Celestial Spirit World! You must answer and pass through your Gate!!! Open the Gate of the Maiden! Virgo!"

Nothing occurred as Silva tried to attempt it again with a worried expression shown as he tries it multiple times with no success.

Nothing again?

[You still don't have the proper Mana control!]

Fuck.

Looking at my Golden Key seeing I won't get the chance to use it I looked over to Lucy handing Virgo Key over surprised written on her face as I explained to her, "Damn it… seems like I lack any affinity with Celestial Spirit Magic to be of any use. This means this Golden Key is practically useless to me. You want it, Lucy?"

She looked a bit surprised before hesitantly taking the key from my hand with greed in her eyes but also concerned asking if I was optimistic about this, "I mean… are you sure Silva? I mean you got this from your first request, and I don't mean to take this away from you just because you can't use it now?"

Crossing my arms and leaning back to a nearby wall I replied to Lucy easing her worries with a small request at the very least, "Yeah. This key is basically worthless to me. If you want me to reconsider, then do me a favor and use it. I don't want it to collect dust when a talented Celestial Wizard like yourself is capable of using the Spirit."

She blinks at this although a light blush on her face but soon smiles taking the key doing the phrase thanking me for giving her the Golden Celestial Key, "Thanks! At the very least I'll use it first to form a contract making this number 4 of Golden Keys under my belt! Ahem! I am one who creates paths to the Celestial Spirit World! You must answer and pass through your Gate!!! Open the Gate of the Maiden! Virgo!"

Seeing the keyhole from an outsider's point of view I heard the sounds of something opening I see a flash of light appear before a bell thong was heard.

*Ding*

*Dong*

It did the thing again!!

Summoning up a Magic Circle appeared as a certain maid entered through the gates I see Virgo materializing into this realm in front of my very eyes… and not an angry gorilla woman but a nice slender figure.

Hmm…

Not bad.

"Are you my new master?"

Pausing I finally got the chance to hear Virgo's voice as I got the full view of her in the flesh after opening her gate.

Virgo takes the form of a maid with shackles around her wrists, short, pink hair, and blue eyes. She wears a typical maid outfit, consisting of a black undercoat and a white, frilled-trim apron, and white knee-length socks with black Mary Jane shoes. Now that she is under my care, she has a more typical appearance of a beautiful young woman with a petite body.

Blushing a bit seeing someone actually wearing this clothing Lucy smiled introducing herself to her new Celestial Spirit, "Hello Virgo I'm Lucy and I happen to be your new Mistress of your Key. Now then shall we begin, to form our contract right Virgo?"

Virgo nods as they both discuss details of what time to call her to have for battle and such on different days. Just the usual basic stuff as I stand there impressed with Lucy under a new light as she goes through talking to Virgo on what days to call her.

Lucky bastard.

*Poof*

Finishing up her contract Lucy directs her attention towards me as I tilted my head with a small laugh responding to Lucy's words, "Haha… so that means you won't ever break a promise."

She nods as she then places one of her hands on her hips questioning me about my part of the deal with an eager expression on her face, "Yup. You can trust me to not break my word. Now then… about the deal?"

I nodded as I began to explain to her about the <Star Dress> spell in more detail what she needs to do as I motion my hand holding a key, "Right. <Star Dress> is a spell in which the caster incorporates the power of a Celestial Spirit into their body by placing the key to the Spirit in question on their chest. By doing that the user adopts a portion of their powers, being able to make use of their Magic."

Lucy eyes widen at this as she gives look over her keys clearly wanting to try it out I gave her one warning though with her pausing in the process, "While useful it does require a lot of Magic Power to pull it off. But I think you can manage if you practice the spell."

She pouts a bit before looking over her Gold Keys picking Cancer with a confident smirk on her face and talking to me, "Thanks for the info, Silva. Looks like I have something to test out. Oh, yeah are you going to stay awhile? If so, I could get you some tea if you want for helping me with this new spell. I mean you came to learn but, in the end, gave me the Virgo key kind of makes me want to make up for that you know? It kind of seems unfair that you get nothing in return though…"

She really is a goodie two shoes but…

Smirking a bit I responded to actually reading Lucy's novel causing her to blush in an embarrassment at me pointing it out, "In that case how about you let me read the novel you're creating eh Lucy? I'm curious to know."

No, seriously I'm really curious since it actually won an award.

She pouts at me clearly turning away but I did hear a distinct mutter of reader review and mentions of Levy helping with editing.

Sweet!

But while teasing Lucy does sound like an excellent way to kill time I have other things that I need to be doing like the grind or wait for Mavis.

Shaking my head at this standing up again feeling a bit tired it was best I recover in my own home as I reply back, "While the tea is appreciated by a pretty girl, I think I would prefer to return home. But if you're that adamant about it how about chalking up as a favor, I can call upon you in the future to count us even? Thanks for your time and help Lucy. Have a good day."

Before leaving Lucy spoke out again at me with nervousness this time in her voice with slight concern, "So… when you use your Eye Magic to look around info… did you use it on me by chance? I mean you had to since you knew about my novel…"

Pausing a bit, I merely replied not giving everything I know about her with a shrug causing her a sigh of relief from the Celestial Wizard, "Portions like I said. Only your full name and personality with running away along with becoming an author. But that's it. If you're uncomfortable explaining more or revealing your real name I promise not to reveal it. Promise?"

She sighs in relief with me promising since it values a lot of trust between us. Exiting out Lucy waved me goodbye as I began to take my leave of her apartment.

"Whew…"

Returning home and finishing meditating recovering from the wasted time learning Celestial Spirit Magic I began to focus on my next objective.

My Status.

I have been not recognizing what to do with them for a while now, but I think it's time I start getting back to raising my stats right away.

Hmm…

I think I should add it to the lower ones focusing on stamina and evasion needed. At the very least I'll be a very hard target to hit and a bit LUCK could be helpful.

Smiling contently at the new sensation passing through my body I felt happy feeling the boost occurring throughout my whole body.

I should pay a visit to the guild to see if I can figure out more about literal Eye Magic along with finding out how I should replicate it from scratch for my own. Hopefully, the rest of the guild members won't think too badly of me for not caring about Erza's predicament.

Guess the only way is to figure that out.
