Existence In Mind : A Linking Of Souls

Everyone has a specialty, a specialty power. You could do alot with it, from killing to saving. Especially when monsters are attacking the kingdom you reside in. Deus isn't a villain, just a man with questionable morals. sorry for fast moving chapters at the start. I was excited to advance the story.

Academy hospital

Deus suddenly woke up in a foreign room. It seemed when he passed out, someone sent him to the academy hospital. He was trying to recap the things that happened to send him here.

The pain he experienced awakening was enough to make nearly anyone insane. And it's not like Deus is the most mentally stable, his whole family died when he was just a baby. They left to the government at such a young age.

"Sir, are you okay? You have been asleep for 3 days." The nurses asked him once he seemed luced enough to respond.

"I can't see anything. I've still got a headache as well." Deus was worried if he would ever heal fully. It has been 3 days already.

The headache he was experiencing now wasn't nearly as bad as the one he had while awakening, but it was still bad enough to impact his mood heavily. And with the current blurriness of his eyes, Deus wouldnt even able to read a book if it didn't heal.

"The princess has called for us to leave." They never even respond to Deus' worries.

What an asshole

Once the nurses all cleared the room, the princess herself came into the room. It was still a shock to Deus how similar she sounded to when she was in the junior academy. Aurelia had many talents, one being the ability to become anyone. She could disguise as anyone she wanted with the resources of her family.

"I saw your awakening. I never thought another {Astral} would ever be seen. Even from you."

If Deus' vision wasn't blurry, he would have seen the smirk on her face. Aurelia started to imagine how powerful she could get with a training partner at the same level as her. Aurelia wanted to get as strong as possible. With wars potentially breaking out anyway, it would be most beneficial to become stronger.

"I know you can't see right now. Pretty fitting for our first meeting in such a long time."

"When will I be able to see again?" Deus was done with Aurelia's messing around and just wanted to get an answer.

"It should be within two days, but other things might happen to your body after you get your eyesight back."

"What other things? Will I be able to go to the academy this year?"

"You should, as long as your aura doesnt modify an important area next."

Deus sat there contemplating that conversation. His Numen looked to be incredibly powerful. When Deus looked at his watch and all it said was:

{Improving Optical nerve, Eyes, and Brain.}

Deus started to get worried looking at that. Any changes to his brain could heavily modify his personality and emotions. Deus has always had an unstable personality to begin with, he didn't want to know what would happen if it got worse.

"This seems to be your first {Order} aspect taking effect on your body."

The awakening of someones Numen always automatically activated someone's first stage ability. Consequential stages take more time to break through. Each time after, whoever awakened would acquire an ability related to their specialty, this ability could be a passive buff, or it could be a new way to use your body's aura. Typically, there would be a hard limit on the stage of awakened in different races, but the human limit has yet to be found. While other races have many benefits like improved general power or faster stage progression, they might only be able to reach stage 5. Human's potential even surpasses gods in this sense, having limitless potential.

The most powerful people are sitting around stage 20. Each stage takes progressivly longer to overcome each time, so you have to imagine the difficulty of that achievement. And the multiple people who have reached that milestone at that.

The whole time Deus was thinking, Aurelia was looking at him.

"My eyesight might be blurry, but I can still see you staring at me." Deus was staring back as well, but he was blind, so it didn't count.

"I'm studying you. My parents were worried about my newfound powers hurting me, so they might try to employ you to protect me from myself. Along with people trying to kill me."

"The two {Astral} awakened working together would truly cause a ruckus around the world." Aurelia added with a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

"Stop joking around. What do you actually want from me."

"My parents told me to fetch you for a meeting with them."

"..."

"Shit"

Deus still couldn't see well, but he could walk. He didn't have much of a choice in meeting with the emperor. If they wanted to meet with him, they would sooner or later.

While Deus was getting up, Aurelia started to tie a blindfold around his head. And when he asked why, all she said was "You can't know the layout of the castle... It's all for privacy I promise."

Deus had a difficult time following were Aurelia was taking him. He had recently heard that the empire's highest level had discovered a way to teleport. Aurelia could be taking Deus anywhere and he wouldn't notice.

Along with blocking sight, the blindfold also seemed to deafen anyone wearing it. A little suffocating to anyone wearing.

It seems to be one of those rumored artifacts

Artifacts could be any objects infused with aura. They could be in the form of weapons, clothing, anything. Humans haven't found a way to create them, but they are damn close to finding out how. Sadly, artifacts are only found in the Great Unknown, the unexplored zone surrounding the entire empire. Many civilians don't even know of the existence of them.

While Deus was in the void of the blindfold artifact, all he felt was Aurelia's soft palm pulling him somewhere. He was struggling to keep track of time. Having nothing to base it off of really limited Deus' ability to remember how long something was.

Aurelia suddenly stopped, almost making Deus stumble into her. She took the blindfold off Deus and said.

"We are here"
