Chapter Fifty Four

Andrew woke up the first time to find a nurse looking at him uncomfortably. The inpatient room lights came back on and he was a little relieved because Macy, who was still sleeping in his arms, didn't seem bothered by the bright light.

Oh, well…

He sighed. Now he is fully awake. He signaled the nurse to wait. He had to find a way to release the woman from his embrace and get out of bed without waking her up.

After almost ten minutes, he finally managed to get out of bed. He put on his shoes quickly.

“Sorry, but the patient…” Andrew tried to find a reason why he could sleep on Macy's bed – especially by hugging the editor.

The nurse shook her head. "That's okay. I just need to do some checking.”

He nodded slightly and let the nurse work. For a moment, he glanced at the window. It seems the sky looks brighter than before. He frowns. Shouldn't it be darker? Andrew thought he fell asleep before sunset. But the sky now shows like the sun is about to rise.
