My Name is Cecile

"Thank you."

A young woman said to Leo, the silence of the room adding to the awkwardness of the situation.

"What did you say your name was?"

Leo asked, massaging his temples.

"Cecile. My name is Cecile." The young woman, namely Cecile, answered. She continued,

"You saved me in the last Aberration tide."

'Oh! So that's who...'

Leo nodded in realization. She was the one who had saved from the hands of a Tier Seven Aberration.

"Well... You don't have to thank me. I just did what was appropriate for the situation."

"Still, what you did saved me from death. I believe it's fate that we met each other again."

Indeed.

The pair had bumped into each other at random, almost three months after the Aberration Tide, and Cecile had recognized him instantly.

"I'm pleased to make your acquaintance."

Leo looked into her eyes, nodding slightly.

...

A few weeks later.

Cecile touched Leo's firm chest muscles, trailing down to his abs while moving further into his arms.

Her long predominantly dark green hair lay sprawled across the bed, as her curves pressed against Leo.

The bed creaked as Leo got into a more comfortable position, the desire that was met a few moments ago almost igniting again.

"You're so different." The seductress said in a whisper, her eyes fixed on Leo's visage.

Leo's jaw clenched and unclenched, a light smile gracing his face.

"How do you mean? There's nothing 'differrent' about me."

Cecile buried her head into Leo's chest, her voice ringing outing an even quieter tone.

"I don't know. I just feel so."

But there was something she left unsaid, a nagging feeling stubbornly clinging to the back of her mind.

She felt, no, she knew, that Leo was not there to stay.

In the short time that they had spent together, she had felt the soaring ambition and sense of responsibility on the shoulders of the young man.

She could even sare to say, that he cared nothing about the obstacles on his way. Be it Devils... Or Gods.

Not knowing the thoughts that swam through her head, Leo lowered his head and said some naughty things, making her blush.

The pair of lovers frolicked around for a few more minutes.

"I have to go now."

Leo said, standing up and starting to put on his clothes.

"Where to? The next wave isn't coming anytime soon." Cecile said, slightly displeased.

"I have otheratters to attend to."

Leo answered casually, making for the door.

"So when am I going to see you again?"

Cecile asked.

Leo stopped in front of the door, grimacing slightly.

"Soon."

He opened the door and left.

Cecile lay there, looking at the door for a long time.

...

Leo shuttled through the rocky terrain of the Ancient Battlefield, thoughts of Cecile filling his mind.

He shook his head, bringing his attention back to the matter at hand.

'Time to grow stronger.'

In the four months that Leo had been in the Ancient Battlefield, he had been accumulating Energy Points and increasing his comprehension of the Spiritual Overlord Technique.

And now, he had finally derived the last few levels of the technique, with ample Energy Points to advance it.

Now was the time.

But first, he had to accumulate a few more Energy Points.

A few moments later, he came across a small group of Aberrations.

Leo licked his lips, a fierce light shining in the depths of his eyes.

Sounds of battle filled the air, as a nightmare ensued for the nearby Aberrations.

---Strength: 5.00

Agility: 5.00

Vitality: 5.00

Stamina: 5.00

Intelligence: 5.00

Stat Limit: 5

Energy: 3000%

---

He had accumulated close to 295 Energy Points, bringing his total to a majestic 300.

Something he wouldn't have dreamt of previously.

But the Ancient Battlefield was a land of opportunity, especially for him.

Apart from during the Aberration Tide, there were large amounts of Aberrations in the surroundings of the Frontline.

The only difference was that, under normal circumstances, the Aberrations were scattered and disorganized, but during the tide, they gathered together.

Optimizing his condition, he focused on the Spiritual Overlord Technique.

---Spiritual Overlord Technique (Overlord Heart ~ Overlord Body ~ Grand Completion) Requires 150 Energy Points.

---

'Add!'

*OOOOOHM*

Energy welled from inside his body, vibrating the air around his body. In the next instant, it exploded outwards.

*BOOM*

An apocalyptic power spread out from within his body, destroying the enclave that he was in.

Ripples of energy emerged from within him, as the Martial Spirit appeared behind him, rapidly expanding.

An intense red light was emitted from it, obscuring its image from view.

Leo's clothes fluttered violently as he floated, several meters in the air, his eyes shone with the same red light, before closing slowly.

As if on cue, the red light covering the Martial Spirit began to crack, having grown to more than twenty meters in height.

As the red light turned into motes and disappeared rapidly, a figure of absolute majesty was revealed before the observer's eyes.

The first thing that emerged was a pair of wings covered in red flames, boasting an incredible wingspan of about sixty meters.

And then appeared a pair of arms covered in red fur, that ended in claws that seemed to mock every ferocious beast of their own incompetence.

This was followed by the legs, covered in stocky red flames with a hint of black, boasting of incredible defense.

The leg muscles were extremely developed, looking like a pair of sky pillars capable of holding up the sky.

The chest and back appeared, sporting greenish red scales that were arranged in a mysterious pattern, putting pressure on the souls and bloodlines of whoever dared to behold them.

In the left chest, one could faintly make out a powerfully beating red heart, the glow of which was powerful enough to be seen from outside the body.

Then came the face, bearing an unmistakable resemblance to Leo. The only difference was the presence of cryptic horns, and a pair of glowing red eyes that seemed to view everything and everyone as ants.

The bearing of a ruler.

A few seconds later, the figure roared, revealing its sharp teeth, and creating a shockwave that leveled everything in a two hundred meter radius.

Leo's veins glowed brightly, as the figure shrank to a size of several meters and came downward to encase him.

His eyes cracked open at alarming speed, as the name of the Martial Spirit appeared in his mind.
