After weaving through winding corridors and passing a few beast guards and maids, Aelorin finally reached a grand dining room. A polished, expansive table stood at its center, illuminated by soft candlelight, adding a majestic glow to the atmosphere. Eight chairs surrounded the table, and all but one were occupied. His three beasts, Alpha, Beta, and Gamma, were already seated, along with two unfamiliar faces—a half-giant girl and a human boy he had once rescued.
He furrowed his brows, surprised to see the strangers here, yet undeterred, he strode over to his empty chair. As he passed Alpha, Beta, and Gamma, he couldn't help but pat them on their heads with affection, each of them leaning into his touch and visibly pleased with the greeting. They had been by his side through thick and thin, and even now, their presence felt like a comforting constant.
