Ch 9 The Lost Highway

Rick and Glenn walked side by side slowly for several miles now.

Being them was a long street swarming with zombies and ahead of them was the exact same thing.

"How different?" I asked softly since everyone else was still asleep.

"Aware enough to be considered intelligent?" I asked.

"No, but still more dangerous I think just them 'suspecting' something even before the rain was proof enough for me that they're not all equal." Rick spoke and I could hear the discomfort in his tone.

"We should take that into consideration, don't need to lose anyone unnecessarily from underestimating them." I spoke and we continued our scenic drive towards the Quarry Camp.

(Fifteen min later)

Shane stood beside Dale while watching Rick and Lori reuniting.

"Calm down son, whatever there might have been once....it's gone now." Dale spoke softly so nobody else could hear.

Dale noticed Lori who was hugging Rick couldn't seem to take her eyes off Shane's back as he walked away....Dale could clearly see the anguish in her eyes.

Lori had grown to love Shane in their time together and now that time together was shattered.

Dale sighed just as he noticed me walking out of the RV and walking towards him with a smile.

'then there's this one....Glenn said he was a good person and survivor... just too eager to hop into women's pants...at least this one is worth his weight in gold from what I've heard so any drama will be worth the trouble....'
