Chapter 38: All Out in the Open
For the next few days, Leena and Ransom met up at Leena’s house in the evenings after she got off work. He apologized for not always getting to stay long, and Leena tried to understand and not take it personally. He still hadn’t openly confessed everything to her, but she was starting to run out of patience.
Things frequently got steamy pretty quickly between the two of them, but to her surprise, Ransom kept stopping them before they went all of the way. They were making out on the couch again, Leena straddling Ransom’s lap again, when she had started to take off her shirt and he stopped her. This was the third time this happened, so Leena asked him what was wrong.
Ransom rubbed her shoulders and her neck sweetly. “It’s not that I don’t want to,” he said.
