CHAPTER 11: HOW WAS YOUR DAY

CHAPTER 11: HOW WAS YOUR DAY?

“That was so thoughtful of you guys. I’ve never heard people who are so protective of their sister.” Zoe finally understood.

“if we don’t protect her, the who will?” Xavier rolled his eyes at Zoe. She was beautiful with a small round face, slender and attractive legs and her shape was perfect. Even though Gianna outstood her in terms of beauty, she was still on the top list.

“I want someone who can care for me as much as you guys care for Gg.” Zoe curled her lips and continued looking outside, her back facing Xavier.

“but I do care about you. If not, would I be here with you? This whole plan had nothing to do with me. Am doing it for you,” Xavier said. Zoe held her breath. Only God knows how long she has personally admired Xavier.

“Are you...”

Xavier walked over slowly and his hands ran around her waist. “You don’t believe me do you? I know you love me. I can see it every time we meet.”

Zoe’s whole body trembled. She closed her eyes and waited. But he suddenly pulled back, picked up his coat and threw it on his shoulder. “Zoe Hensley, we should go now!”.

Zoe reacted faster and came back to her senses. She then avoided his eye and walked to the door. They got in time to see the car with Gianna and Aival Quinn driving away.

“She said she’s picking up documents at the company before driving home. The Quinn guards will pick up the second prince from the company.” The receptionist said.

Xavier walked ahead without looking back at Zoe. She has to rush in his pace.

This man! Zoe cursed. He just seemed romantic few minutes ago. Good heavens she doubted him in the first place. Do romantic men behave in this manner?

“Can I take you out for shopping tomorrow?” Aival asked when they got off.

“Sure. I had a different plan but I’ll call Elliot and explain to him. I’ll visit him the next day then.” Gianna accepted. She was supposed to visit the King Eagles Film as she had promised Elliot. But a new plan was here.

Not wanting to get too close too soon and look like someone after sex, Aival shook hands with her and said goodbye. Gianna looked at the disappearing cars with a smile. Seriously, she felt Aival took away all her loneliness. She now didn’t think of Alex more.

When she arrived home with documents in her hands, Zoe was seated cross legged watching. Gianna entered noisily obviously telling her that today’s mood was different.

“What is making you so happy?” Zoe asked interested in the matter. She obviously knew Gianna was with the second prince.

“Zoe how was your day?” Gianna smiled broadly as she spun. Xavier was coming downstairs and happened to hear her question. He directed his gaze at Zoe who in turned looked away. Gianna was sharp enough to see this reaction.

“You two, is there something I need to know?” Gianna stopped and looked at Xavier, then at the shy Zoe.

“What do you mean?” Zoe put on a poker face but her acting skills were obviously poor. Gianna saw through her, but shrug.

“Fine... Nothing!” She then dropped the files on the table and ran upstairs happily. Xavier turned and stared at her disappearing back before turning and looking at back at Zoe.

“I'll... I’ll be outside breathing in some fresh air.” Zoe stammered as she stood up.

“There is an air conditioner here, not one but three in one living room, and a fan too. What fresh air do you need?” Xavier asked in a soft voice. He obviously knew Zoe was avoiding him.

“Umm... I mean natural fresh air.” Zoe said quickly sliding her feet in sandals and running out.

...Dinner time...

At the dinner table, Gianna was in her own world. She hummed happily as she checked the current notifications on her phone. Xavier looked at his dad who was looking at Gianna with a smile on his face.

“Gg, do you think the air conditioning in this villa is not ok?” Xavier said and startled everyone. Zoe dropped the spoon in her arms.

“Am sorry madam.” A maid brought a tray of clean spoons and picked the fallen spoon before leaving.

“What? Who said that? It’s perfectly fine.” Gianna looked at Xavier.

“Someone said that. Tomorrow, I’ll have more air conditioners brought in here. Plus, more fans will be delivered. We must make this villa conducive for everyone.” Xavier said before hitting his meat.

“Xavier you’re crazy!” Gianna laughed. “You want to install a million air conditioner in here?”

“If that is what it takes for everyone to be comfortable.” Xavier said seriously.

“Who complained first? I feel this whole air conditioners in this rooms are excess.” Gianna said.

“Gianna, why are you suddenly happy?” Zoe changed the topic while looking at her plate.

“I have all reasons to be.” She stuck out her tongue playfully. “Am full, I’ll be in my room.”

After Gianna ran off happily, Zoe felt awkward being left with Xavier and his father. She kept looking around pretending she wasn’t listening to their conversation. She then gently pushed her dish aside, before biding everyone a good night. But before she walked out of the door, Xavier called her.

“Zoe, what other renovations would you suggest if I had to ask?” Xavier asked.

This man! Zoe wanted to just cough out blood. She quickly stepped out and pushed the door back. The maid at the door caught it, reduced the inertia and gently closed it.

“I’ve never heard, seen or read a scandal about you anywhere. Are you that mysterious” Gianna send Aival a message.

“Am not mysterious. An reserved.” Aival seemed to be very punctual in replying her messages which triggered her mood.
