Ethan

The only times I had ever really come to Russia was for work or to see Demyan. Mostly it was only to see Demyan.

I remembered the first time Demyan came to Russia for school and dance. He was eighteen and excited but you could tell he was scared to also be alone. He knew we were only an hour away and if he needed us he could just call but it was the first time he would be away from his parents and siblings for so long.

I spent a whole week with him before he had to go to school. I promised him he was going to have a great life here and that I would be there to support him. The first year was great, especially once he had gotten his own apartment and no longer lived in the dormitories of the university. He was so excited and we spent hours shopping for furniture to fill up his empty canvas.
