12. Misunderstood and Advice

A few days had passed since Billy's confession to Professor Amy. Every day since then, Billy attempted to approach her and apologize properly, but she always distanced herself from him, avoiding his gaze. Billy wanted to talk to her directly, but he feared it might be considered harassment.

Deciding to take it slowly, Billy hoped that over the two remaining years of college, she would eventually forgive him.

Working at a coffee shop near Arora University, Billy was a favorite among customers due to his calm demeanor. Many girls frequented the shop just to see him. He worked the afternoon shift until 5 p.m.

At 5:10 p.m., Billy walked towards the station, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of Amy. "I wonder if I'll ever get to talk to her," he sighed in disappointment.

Approaching the station, he noticed Amy also walking in that direction, likely having finished her work at the college.

Wanting to approach her but fearing he might make her uncomfortable again, Billy decided to play it safe and boarded the train without engaging her.

Inside the train car, all seats were taken, so Billy had to stand. He noticed Amy standing in the same cart and considered talking to her, but she seemed to sense his presence and moved away, sighing in irritation.

Billy's face fell with disappointment. "She probably will never forgive me," he thought to himself.

As the train arrived at Oakridge station, Billy stepped off and saw Amy exiting the train from another door.

Starting to walk towards her home, Amy noticed Billy walking behind her from a distance.

"Why is he following me?" Amy wondered, feeling uncomfortable.

Billy continued to follow her at every turn until Amy stopped abruptly, turning to face him. "Are you stalking me now? Should I file a complaint against you?" she shouted at him, her frustration evident.

"Stalking?" Billy was genuinely confused, wearing a puzzled expression. "Why would I stalk you?"

"Because—" Amy began, but then paused, reconsidering. "Because I rejected your confession," she muttered.

"Huh? what do you think of me?" Billy genuinelyasked her irritated of accusation.

"An freak who loves older woman," She replied instantly.

"No," Billy argued. "Anyway, I live in that apartment building over there," he pointed, holding up his apartment keys. "And you're heading in the same direction."

"Really?" Amy asked, still skeptical, thinking he might be making excuses.

"Okay, would you like to come with me so I can show you my room?" Billy suggested, trying to reassure her.

Amy misunderstood his intention and became even more agitated, shouting "Idiot!" at him before walking away, her face flustered.

Confused by her reaction, Billy called after her, "Ms. Amy, do you live in this same area?"

Amy's frustration reached its peak, and she walked away without giving him an answer.

"Sigh, she lives in the same area, and I never even crossed paths with her. Damn my luck," Billy muttered to himself as he continued walking towards his apartment.

At night, after finishing the dinner dishes, Billy's brother, Austin, reminded him not to stay up playing games all night again before heading to his room.

"I won't," Billy assured him, completing his cleaning duties.

"You said the same last time," Austin remarked before closing his door.

In his dark room, Billy opened the game "Smash Titans" and noticed that his online friend, SeraphicSaviour, was already in the game. He immediately sent a team request to play with them, which was accepted.

"Hey Steelsoul, what's up?" SeraphicSaviour messaged him with an emoji.

"Not much, let's play. I want to beat you at least once," Billy replied confidently.

SeraphicSaviour responded with a laughing emoji followed by a message, "Nah, I'd win," in a sarcastic tone.

As they played, Billy found himself losing more than usual, his mind constantly wandering to thoughts of Amy.

"Ah, I lost again, and worse this time," Billy muttered, looking at his screen in disappointment. He noticed that SeraphicSaviour was typing a message.

"What happened, kid? You seem distracted today. I want a serious fight," SeraphicSaviour sent.

"Hey, Saviour, what's your age?" Billy asked, hoping to share his problem.

"Hey, are you asking for my personal info?" SeraphicSaviour replied.

"No, I just need some advice, that's all," Billy responded.

"I'm in my mid-twenties. Now, tell me your problem," SeraphicSaviour replied.

"There's a girl I like, but she hates me. I desperately need to talk to her," Billy explained his situation, followed by a tear emoji.

"What did you do to get that treatment, buddy?" SeraphicSaviour asked.

"I proposed to her on our first meeting. Now she sees me as a creep," Billy admitted.

"Wait, what's your age?" SeraphicSaviour inquired.

"19, why?" Billy asked.

"Is the girl the same age as you?" SeraphicSaviour asked immediately.

"No, she's 7 years older than me. That's my problem," Billy said with a slight embarrassed emoji. "What should I do now?"

There was a brief silence from SeraphicSaviour, leaving Billy wondering what was happening.

"Well, I didn't expect you to be into older women," SeraphicSaviour replied with a laughing emoji.

"Hey, I'm not into older women. I genuinely love her," Billy explained his feelings for Amy.

"Well, if you really love her, wait for the right time. Maybe ask her out on a date or something. Confessing to her directly definitely scared her. Take your time to impress her and show her you're a good guy," SeraphicSaviour suggested.

"Do you think I can win her over if I slowly clear my name?" Billy asked curiously, to which SeraphicSaviour assured him that it would definitely work.

After a while, Austin knocked on Billy's door, his voice stern through the wood. "I know you're still playing the game. Turn it off and sleep, or you'll miss morning classes," he cautioned.

"Alright," Billy replied, his disappointment evident in his tone. Before shutting down his PC, he sent a message to SeraphicSaviour, expressing gratitude for the advice and bidding farewell.

Turning off his computer, Billy climbed into bed, gazing up at the ceiling as thoughts of Amy filled his mind. "Why am I letting her affect me like this?" he pondered before finally succumbing to sleep.
