Recess

Adam was always an odd child. He had a strange fascination with the darker recesses of the world, things that most people wouldn't even think about. As he grew older, he was picked on by his peers, and eventually, he found solace in solitude.

He had always been a bit of a wanderer, never staying in one place for long. That was until he stumbled upon a witch. She was unlike any witch he had ever met. She was friendly, and surprisingly candid.

Adam had always been fascinated with the idea of magic and the unknown. The witch explained to him that she could help him become something more than human, something dark, something powerful.

At first, Adam was hesitant. He had always been content with his one form, but the witch convinced him that he was meant for something more. With a wave of her hand, he was transported to a realm unlike anything he had ever seen.

The realm was dark and foreboding, unlike anything he had ever experienced before. The witch told him that he had to make a choice, either join her and become a dark fey, or die. Adam didn't know what to do.

The witch explained that joining her would mean gaining powers beyond anything he had ever seen, powers that would make him the most powerful being in the realm. But the price was the loss of his humanity.

Adam made his decision. He thought about his life and what he wanted it to be like. Becoming a dark fey would mean being accepted and having a purpose. He nodded his head, and the witch let out a happy sigh.

As he was transformed, Adam felt a strange sensation running through his body. It was as if he was being torn apart, but he didn't recoil. In seconds, he had become something beyond human. His eyes became pitch black, and his skin became icy cold.

Adam didn't know what to do. He had powers beyond anything he had ever imagined. He could control the minds of other creatures, he could become invisible, and he could even stop hearts.

But as he explored his new abilities, he realized that he had made a mistake. The realm was filled with creatures that wanted to harm him, creatures that he had never even heard of before. He realized that he had lost his humanity, and he didn't know how to get it back.

He tried to find the witch, hoping that she could help him, but she was long gone. Adam was alone in this dark realm, with no way to leave.

But as he explored, he discovered something else. He discovered hope. He discovered that he hadn't lost his humanity, he had simply found another.

Adam found that he had a reason to exist, something that made him worth more than his powers. He discovered that being accepted and loved was the most important thing.

With newfound insight, Adam began to change. He started to learn to control his powers, and he learned to live with his dark side. He began to make friends, and they accepted him without question.

Eventually, Adam found his way back to the realm of the witch. She was surprised to see him, but he told her that he had changed. He thanked her for helping him, but he told her that he was now a different person.

The witch was surprised, but she accepted him for who he was. Adam realized that he had found what he had been looking for, acceptance and love.

From that day, Adam made a promise to himself. He vowed that he would never forget his humanity, and he would always strive to be the best he could be, no matter what form he took.

As he faded away into the darkness of the realm, Adam knew that he was finally happy.
