Q&A session (Part 3). Skill proficiency and Bloodline awakening

After Stephen finished fantasizing about his 'bright' future, he decided to continue ask questions that interested him.

"Nero, what about the number next to the name of my bloodline? If I haven't guessed mistakenly it should be awakening rate of the bloodline, am I right?" asked Stephen.

[Yes, host. You are right. That number is an awakening degree of your bloodline.], replied Nero.

Hearing that Nero confirmed his guess, Stephen continued.

"So how can I awaken my bloodline?"

It was the most important question he was interested in. As Stephen didn't know anything about his bloodline and it was marked as [Unknown], he had strange anticipation toward it.

[There are few different ways to awaken a bloodline.]

[You can awaken your bloodline by consuming wondrous object that has function of awakening bloodline. Such things you can buy from the shop, get as reward or to find it during the game.]

[Also, stimulating your potential during a dangerous situation can help you to awaken the bloodline. Of course it is not a 100% option. It's more depends on luck so I don't recommend you to rely on this method. At least not until you get rid of your curse.]

[Moreover, every breakthrough to a new realm will be rewarded with a certain degree of bloodline awakening.]

[When you will reach Exceed realm 10% of your bloodline will be awakened for free.]

[When you will reach Demigod realm 20% of your bloodline will be awakened.]

[When you will reach God realm 40% of your bloodline will be awakened.]

[So in total, if host will reach God realm, you will have 70% of your bloodline awakened for free.]

[Of course it doesn't mean that you should wait so long to awaken your bloodline. Host should understand that the sooner you awaken it the stronger you will be and the higher your chances to become a God.], carefully explained Nero.

"So that's how it is. Even if I reach God realm only 70% will be awakened for free. At least it's better than nothing.", said Stephen after hearing explanation.

He agreed with the opinion of Nero. Stephen will not wait till God realm to awaken his bloodline. Of course it's totally depends on his bloodline. If it has only useless effects, Stephen decided not to invest too much into it.

'It seems that at least until Exceed or even Demigod realm I shouldn't think too much about the bloodline.', thought Stephen.

Judging from what he heard from Nero, even if he was not the best in terms of strength, Stephen should be at least above average. So there is no need to worry about his strength for the time being.

Thinking like that, Stephen said.

"Alright, I understood. Let's move to the next topic."

"Nero, you once mentioned skill's proficiency. Tell me more about it. Also about the number next to my curse in the status effects."

[Sure, host. Each skill has different grades of proficiency. Mostly, they are Novice, Proficient, Expert, Master and Grandmaster. Of course, some skills will have only 1 grade and proficiency will be displayed only in percentages without the name of the grade. And some skills don't have proficiency at all such as bloodline skills.]

[When host learns skill from the shop or some kind of scroll, only the most basic knowledge will be poured inside host's brain. And it will give you only the most basic benefits. With training, comprehension and continuous usage of the skill, its proficiency and grade will increase. Of course benefits will increase too.]

[As for percentages near your curse, it's degree of strength of this status effect. It can be weakened or strengthened using various methods.], explained Nero.

"What a headache. Why is there nothing like ability points? Won't it be much more easier and faster?", grumbled dissatisfied Stephen.

Anyone can understand his feelings. It will take a lot of efforts and time to increase proficiency of skills. Also you will have to put many thoughts into management of your skills. Otherwise it will be a complete mess.

[Of course there is no such convenient method. Because the purpose of the Game of New Gods is not to make it convenient for you, but to help you achieve the godhood. Not to mention you have already received and will receive so much assistance that some people can only dream about.], reprimanded Nero.

"Alright, Nero. You are right. Sorry. I was wrong.", quickly apologized Stephen as he heard Nero's dissatisfied voice.
