Because of Zex's healing, all three of them were able to escape the jaws of death.

However, nothing could heal the trauma that remained.

Troy and Shea were strong since one was an ex-hero and the other was a hero candidate that barely couldn't make the cut.

However, Dhana was sheltered since birth. With the salaries of heroes, Edge and Amber were able to live a wealthy life, even though they still lived as commoners.

Amber was part-noble, a daughter of an aristocrat family that went bankrupt.

Having lost both her parents in an accident, she was left to fend for herself and rose into the ranks of paladins, and finally became a hero.

In comparison, Dhana lived a generally safe and happy life aside from the loss of both parents. She never held a sword nor fought anyone. One could imagine how much of a shock she must have gone through in her captivity.

As expected, Troy and Shea agreed. Troy was already old but he did not want to die just yet. Shea, on the other hand, was still too young and wanted to experience more of life.

Because Dhana had her tongue cut off, she was having a hard time communicating.

Zex had to establish a mental connection with her so that they could converse telepathically.

This was a temporary spell that he learned from Arissef. However, because it was not exactly a telepathy technique, the spell was not optimal for combat.

In principle, the spell allowed the user to channel a portion of mana, or Anima in Zex's case, into the target's brain, sharing their thoughts with the user.

Unlike actual telepathy, he could neither connect Edge into their conversation nor could he make a mental connection between Dhana and Edge.

Therefore, Zex had to voice out Dhana's thoughts so Edge can understand.

After a lengthy discussion, Dhana agreed to the transformation and Zex promised not to form a soul contract, to which Edge was grateful.

A day later, Zex and Edge helped Troy to get to the platform and had him drink the potion.

Zex guided the flow of the potion's essence and began refining Troy's heart. Then, he began with the transformation itself.

He followed the same steps he took during his transformation but this time, he used his Anima to make the process smoother.

Technically, his Anima has become his fuel for any type of skill he could perform, including the black flames, only that the result was exponentially more potent than when he used mana or stamina.

It was like comparing a triple-A battery to a car battery.

The black flames did not go haywire like they did last time and Troy's transformation was running smoothly...

Until it abruptly stopped.

He tried pouring his Anima into Troy but the process just didn't continue.

Suddenly, Troy's aura exploded as he let out a roar.

As the parts of his body were essentially rebuilt, he was able to move properly once again as he began to lash out and claw at Zex.

Edge, who was looking at the scene was startled and was ready to jump in any time.

This situation confused Zex as to why Troy was acting like this, but when he used [Evil Gaze], he finally understood.

The next moment, Edge saw Zex beginning to deliver light taps at the rampaging Troy while easily dodging his attacks.

To Edge's confusion, this went on for a while until he noticed that Troy's aura was getting stronger and stronger as his form was getting larger and more refined.

In truth, when Zex checked Troy's character page, he saw the data string tied to his race - [Rage Deamon Transformation - Incomplete].

When he looked back to when he underwent the [Demonic Reconstruction] himself, he had to devour flesh to gain experience.

However, devouring flesh did not have anything to do with rage.

Therefore, he tried to deal damage to Troy and realized that the transformation process was resuming.

After a little less than an hour, Troy began to calm down and the transformation process neared its completion.

Zex approached Troy and transmitted to him the processes on how to control Anima as well as gave him his True Name.

He then told Troy to meditate and absorb the processes as his own before checking Troy's character sheet.

While Troy's stats were extremely far behind his own, Troy could give any hero aside from the kingsguards a run for their money. If he used [True Name Liberation], Zex believed nobody in the kingdom can defeat him.

On a side note, he still could not wrap his head around the age mechanic and how it gets adjusted.

However, looking at Troy's features, he does look more like a 30-year old adult than a 50-year old geezer like before.

After Troy left the chamber, Zex and Edge brought in Shea, did the same preparations, and performed the same process.
