The Beauty Burnt The Eyes.

After opening the door, the bags were dispersed in the backseat. The harsh shove frightened Chen Peiling and she immediately looked to the front.

Don't look at her...don't look at her...she continually chanted but the shiver in her fingers spoke otherwise.

Zhao Yuhui scoffed, adjusted the headrest and closed her eyes after leaning on it. She was angry, so very angry that she wanted to give a good lecture to Chen Peiling.

However, the best treatment for her now was going to be the silent treatment. Her words wouldn't scare her as much her silence would.

So Zhao Yuhui silently closed her eyes and went to sleep.

Chen Peiling was dumbfounded. She was preparing herself for the scolding which didn't come. Instead, she was forced to listen the peaceful breathing as Zhao Yuhui's chest heaved up and down while sleeping.

And indeed, it made her more anxious than anything else. Chen Peiling sniffed and wiped the tears from her eyes and turned the steering wheel to get into the road. Sister Zhao was not talking to her!

All the way till they reached her apartment complex, Zhao Yuhui slept. Honestly, she had not been in that deep sleep and that's why she opened her eyes even though Chen Peiling had lightly said that they were there.

Not wasting unnecessary time, Zhao Yuhui unbuckled herself and fastly jumped out of the car after taking her bags.

Chen Peiling still hadn't come out of the surge of emotions she had felt before so when Zhao Yuhui didn't talk to her the whole time, she was happy because she wasn't being scolded.

But now seeing her going out as if she was done with her and didn't want to spend even a second with her, Chen Peiling wanted to cry loudly.

What she was feeling right now was similar to how a girlfriend felt when boyfriend made just two days back didn't give goodbye kiss after hanging out together.

True to her imagination, Zhao Yuhui was fuming while stomping her feet towards the elevator. How many times she had told Chen Peiling to not be curious about everything?

Chen Peiling was an amazing assistant and the only honest person who had been by her side till now.

But her curiosity...it was like a fire which convert into an inferno in a jiffy.

Only she knew how much she was holding herself from venting her anger.

Today, it was purely luck that Old Stewardess had let them go just like that but what if it was someone else? In her earlier days, she had seen a newbie actor getting bumped into an old lady accidentally. Turned out, she was the matriarch of a prominent family.

What conspired after that was already a humiliation to that actor but the next day, she was blacklisted from the industry.

The ones with power were dangerous, had always been and will always be.

The mediocre like them were no match to them. Zhao Yuhui had only requested Chen Peiling one thing and that was to stay away from such people and never get inquisitive about them. Because her curiosity could put them in danger.

And that almost happened today!

"Mom, I am back!" Zhao Yuhui yelled being pissed and straightaway went to her room. Before she could close the door, she shouted again. "And don't bother me for the next couple of hours!" With that, a loud bang echoed.

Hearing the bang, Mother Zhao came out of her room while patting the face mask she had put on her face. Watching the door mercilessly shoved, she mumbled. "Even if you are angry, why to torture the poor door?"

Mother Zhao ate the circular piece of cucumber and moved back to continue what she was doing. "This is a nice mask. I should ask her later to give me a pack of it!"

Zhao Yuhui took her clothes and went to get a warm bath which she was in utmost need of.

Next day in University.

"Zhao Yuhui!" Zhao Yuhui stopped and turned around to find Xu Dong running to her.

"Hey." Zhao Yuhui said when he was catching his breath. "You could have walked, I wasn't running away."

"Thanks for waiting!" Xu Dong looked at her enthusiastically. "You know..."

"What?"

"I still can't believe Zhao Yuhui is my friend." He sheepishly smiled.

"Haha! Then wait for me to get among the A-list actors." Zhao Yuhui flipped her hair.

"Surely, I will get to brag more than!"

When they were about to enter their class, Xu Dong stopped and focused on Zhao Yuhui.

"Can I ask something?" Zhao Yuhui felt strange seeing him getting serious out of nowhere. "S-sure."

Xu Dong asked strangely. "Did something happen yesterday?"

Zhao Yuhui blinked at him. Uh?

Xu Dong's eyes turned calculating as he brought his hands up to caress his chin. "Cheng Qi is weird. Since he came after meeting you, he has been behaving differently."

"Behaving differently? In what manner?" Zhao Yuhui pried expectantly.

"Like he refused to drink with us after the practice match. And also went to sleep earlier yesterday. Usually, he is the one who doesn't sleep even after midnight."

"Moreover, in the morning he didn't scold me when I took food from his plate." Xu Dong described mysteriously. He looked like a detective trying to solve the murder case.

"Maybe he is not feeling well. Because he seemed alright to me when I saw him last." Right after she had finished her words, the image of him strangely rushing back when she introduced him to Chen Peiling appeared in her mind. However, she shoved that away in a second thinking he had gotten late.

"That could be but when he came to the match...he looked as if somebody has given him high voltage shock."

"Shock? He looked like that? I meant nothing happened when we were together." Zhao Yuhui paused and then said with a laugh. "I introduced him to my assistant yesterday. Could he have gotten so shocked by seeing my beautiful assistant?

His eyes squinted mischievously as he chortled and joined her joke. "Who knows if the beauty burnt his eyes?"
